MC Prussian Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Last time we had two bad games on the trot, we came back with a win. I'd rather we got the poor games away against Yeovil and Blackburn. I'd not be surprised for us to win well on Saturday and really lay down a marker. They better do so on Saturday then. Yes, we're still in a great position to go up automatically. But we've got to set the marker if we're serious about it and have the desire to finish as Champions, too.
linemakers Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Vardy won't be bothered about getting a yellow now, so will be up for the match and back to his manic explosive self. The midfield won't be pressured like against Yeovil so should have more time on the ball and both teams will try and play football instead of one parking the bus in front of goal. See us winning by one goal
deep blue Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Really need to dig deep in this game, can see them dominating the game but we will get the odd chance or two and we have to take them, as well as being resolute at the back we can do this! Come on City I'm concerned that we did that last night and won't be in shape to repeat the effort if the same team starts. I wish one or two had been rested last night to keep them fresh for Satday. Obvious candidates who run themselves into the ground game after game (the 2 CMs and the 2 forwards); 2 of those could have been rested, and maybe even Moore for one of the CBs without diminishing the quality of the side. Certainly fielding the "best" team last night didn't work.
One Legged Beaver Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Hopefully last night was a shock to the lads that it's by no means over and they'll be back to their best against Burnley! Burnley should be coming to attack us which will hopefully play into our hands a bit more than the teams that try and get something on the break. We have the pace and ability to get the ball and numbers forward very quickly when the opposition commit numbers and can see us being very dangerous on the break. Wouldn't want to call the result mind you

Number 6 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Kasper Schlupp Wes Was RDL Dyer Hammond Drinkwater Mahrez Knockaert Vardy I'd like Lloyd and Jeff down the left to take on the Trippier replacement. Having Knockaert behind JV allows him to roam and create but also drop in to a midfield 5 and hopefully enable us to control this area. Think one of James and Drinkwater needs a rest so would bring in Hammond as the experienced head in the middle of the park. Feel a bit harsh not putting in Nuge against his former club but he looks like he needs to be dropped at the moment, at least temporarily. I'll go for a 1-1.
suffolk fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 They are unbeaten at home all season and they are on fire. I believe they will want it more than us so for that reson I think they will edge it. I will take a draw but I believe they will win 2 1.

RuddyBfc13 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Hi, Burnley fan in peace here. Reading between the lines you guys seem to be in a bit of a mini slump at the moment or think you are, nothing drastic a bit like ours after Xmas where we lost to Boro and drew a lot of games. I think Saturday will help you overcome this as both teams will definitely be up for it with top spot potentially being reachable by us & you guys wanting to pull clear of us. Marney will be a big loss for us on Saturday, was very underrated before this season Dyche has really got him amongst many others playing to the best of his ability. Nugent will obviously pop up with his inevitable goal against us, we may as well just let him walk it in from the kick off and have it done with! I think it will be a very close game on Saturday but I'm not actually as nervous as I was for last night against Doncaster or last weekend against Charlton, I think we may just sneak it. I'd love us to take top spot but I think you guys will prove to have too much for us in the long run & I'd be more than happy to finish 2nd! I think we may spring a few surprises, Dyche doesn't give anything away with regard to team news until the day of the game, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see either Ings or Tripps on the teamsheet or possibly even both come Saturday as they're not out with bad injuries just niggles really. Anyway I'm very excited for the game on Saturday, hoping for a quality game and may the best team win. I'd like to wish you good luck for the rest of the season....barring playing us but I'd be lying a bit as I still want us to get 1st, I'm very glad it's you guys in 1st rather than QPR though!
Corky Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 They are unbeaten at home all season and they are on fire. I believe they will want it more than us so for that reson I think they will edge it. I will take a draw but I believe they will win 2 1. Why would they want it more than us?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Going to be a really really tough game Hopefully a classic end to end game and hopefully Leicester can just sneak a 3-2 win or 2-1 or 1-0 Though I would probably take a draw as Burnley are a quality side aswell
fuchsntf Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 City players should go in more relaxed.let them chase, we have the points, we should use the situation. Burnley need it more than us, thats pressure. So we've dropped points, do that on Saturday but stay 19 games unbeaten.Job done. We dont have to win the next 2 games, Burnley and the chasers must win. Move and play with the ball, keep passes simple and tight .Play Dyer down the flank, keep their sub player back. Dont over defend and keep an highline.Use our league points and position on and off the pitch, the players should want the ball, again let Burnley this weekend and Wigan the week after, chase, chase. We are not the team in need.
Babylon Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Why would they want it more than us? Because they aren't Leicester and don't have a bunch of overly dramatic whinge bag fans backing them up.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 It's good to see that we all still believe in this team that has exceeded everyone's expectations this season....not! We can't win every game but we must be pleased with our position and unbeaten run surely?! If not them why flipping not?!
Nalis Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 We shouldn't fear Burnley, they should be fearing us! We're top of the league for a reason. Going for a cheeky 1-0 away win. Anyway, both teams are as good as promoted in my view. Can't see QPR getting four more wins that either of us.
Guest Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 My team for Burnley: Kasper de Laet Wasilewski Morgan Moore Schlupp James King Drinkwater Vardy Nugent I hope not. No width or creative wingers - disaster. Our best stuff comes down the wings with crosses from the touchline.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 We shouldn't fear Burnley, they should be fearing us! We're top of the league for a reason. What was a comfortable lead over 2nd is now very fragile - they've only dropped 4 points in 10 games whereas we've dropped as many in the last week alone. I'm still optimistic we'll finish top but being away to a high-flying Burnley is going to be a really tough test

We've picked up more points than them since then.

True, I'm just thinking on current form we seem to be slowing somewhat. Overall though we are of course top bollock, hence the table position!
Mark Oakley Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Burnleys run is due to end!!! We transmitted our ( completely un warranted ) apprehension to the players and they duly obliged by having a bit of a stinker!!! But we got the draw and it felt like a win , now let's go out and show the country who the best team in the championship are!!! ........us FFS keep the faith!!!!!! We can almost taste the prem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Callabinho Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Kasper RDL Wasyl Morgan Schlupp Knockaert Drinky James Mahrez Nugent Vardy. Has to be.
promised land Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 If we win our next 3 games we'll be 12 points ahead of Burnley having only played 1 game more. If, if counts for nothing, if I changed my numbers I'd have won the Euros last night. Points on the board is what matters. Looking forward to this game now.
