One Legged Beaver Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Not for me, overhyped by the media because he has all the tricks up his sleeves. But for me he just runs into a corner, throws in a few step overs and then has no end product to find a team mate.
conLAD logan Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I think Pearson could sort him out, if he can make knockaert work hard he will be able to with zaha
foxfanazer Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Wouldn't get in ahead of Knocky or Mahrez for me.
LanguedocFox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 This is interesting, not so much for the player (who might be too expensive) but for the fact that we are now going to be linked with other Prem clubs in the "hunt" for new signings: http://talksport.com/football/everton-join-newcastle-hull-and-leicester-race-spartak-moscow-star-14040986760. He's probably on Steve Walsh's scouting radar already, having spent a season in France.

Dan Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Not surprised we're looking in France. Although it isn't the best league there's a lot of seriously good players over there. To think Newcastle paid only a little more for Cabaye than we did for Mills and Cabaye had just won the league with Lille. Though Hazard cost a fortune.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I wouldn't really go for Zaha, seems a bit of a flavour-of-the-week (and that time has passed). To me that means he's now probably overpaid and not really a great improvement on what we already have. He is however one of the more realistic rumoured targets so far, and if we were to get him I'm sure Pearson would get the best out of him.
............... Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Good championship player at best, been found out at first Man Utd and now Cardiff. No thanks.
Bettsj2 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Playing the way that we play, he would be sensational. Forget the recent past. Never got a sniff at Utd and Pele would look shit playing for Cardiff. He would be a superb addition but I cannot see it.
Buzzell Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I think even with Zaha having a really poor attitude I do reckon Pearson would get the best out of him and sort him out. I think he could fit in well here at our club. Young and talented player to join a young and talented squad. Will he be wanting a big wage though? I can imagine him being on decent wages at Man Utd.
Far Post Gerry Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I think he'd be a cracking signing, but the article is just shit speculation; "according to football direct news NP is weighing up a bid". Or "According to shit website, manager may or may not make a bid for player". Utter horse shit.
Guest MattP Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 No thanks. The last in the long list of appalling big money "young talent" signings from towards the end of of Fergie's career, Moyes, Zaha, Bebe, Smalling etc etc From all accounts looking miles out of his depth in the top flight according to paper reviews and Cardiff fans.
LCCFox96 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Zaha needs the right management. Being frozen out at United and packed off on loan to a struggling Cardiff side with a manager who is inexperienced with English football management and probably only got him because he was a united legend anyway is not right for him. If NP could get him back on track and the form he showed for Crystal Palace I'd love to have him at Leicester.

To think Newcastle paid only a little more for Cabaye than we did for Mills and Cabaye had just won the league with Lille. Though Hazard cost a fortune. The media actually control the pricing these days, if a player flies under the radar you'll still manage to pick them up cheap, Cabaye, Michu being prime examples. Soon as a "name" is being banded around in the papers and teams like Chelsea, Barca, Liverpool, Real etc are being linked with it it's not an exaggeration to see a player probably worth £3-4 million in actual football terms go for £15million. Fortunately I think we have a manager and scouting team that can see through it. This is the Premier League as well, we are talking about boardrooms with people like Vincent Tan in sanctioning 7million for average Danish strikers, clubs like Newcastle that appoint people like Joe Kinnear as Director of Football, it's a mad industry. On the other side you can actually end up picking up bargains for the ones who have been slaughtered by the press, Cleverly will be a solid top half Prem player for years and someone will probably pick him up cheaper next season than Man U paid for Zaha. Hull got Huddlestone on the cheap after he was considered "not good enough" and finished. Adam Johnson would be a player I'd like, be avaliable cheap and I'm sure he could thrive in a team like ours.
Corky Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Ian Holloway rates him as the best player ever or something like that, good enough for me.
foxoffderby Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 By all accounts his attitude is poor and he's been rubbish for Cardiff. Which account is that exactly? Not really given a chance a Man U or Cardiff. Palace management and coaches have spoken very highly of him in interviews last season. I right him would love him here.
Foxboy Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Wish Nige would get an account so every rumour put up would get the actual truthful response.
GingerrrFox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Just imagine a 4-2-3-1 with Mahrez and Zaha on the wings and Knockaert playing the 10 role behind Vardy. Anyone who says they don't fancy that is lying.

Anyone who says they don't fancy that is lying. Are you calling me a liar?! In the championship maybe but in the Prem, I'd want some experience in there. Plus Vardy's hardly a lone striker is he?
GingerrrFox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Are you calling me a liar?! In the championship maybe but in the Prem, I'd want some experience in there. Plus Vardy's hardly a lone striker is he? Depends on the style of football you want to play. You could argue this season we've been playing a 4-2-3-1 with Nugent dropping deeper into a more classic "number 10" role. If you are gonna play high tempo, passing football in which you look to play in behind the defence you could say Vardy is a perfect lone striker. If you are gonna play like West Ham under Sam Allardyce then yeah I agree he's a terrible striker to play on his own.
Munshi Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Bolasie is 5x the player Zaha is, and Bolasies now starting regularly for Palace and doing well. Please no to this overrated quite shit player. Attitude is shit.
LCFC FOX Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I'd take him, fast skill full player which I think we will need next year when we hit teams on the counter
