AjcW Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Well, after a season of so many positives, I actually want to commend the club on the refreshing approach they have taken to Twitter/ Facebook and YouTube this season. I don't know whether they have outsourced it to a PR company or whether they have just hired a couple of spot on guys running the show but as someone who works in the sector, its difficult to get right and in my opinion they've got it spot on right now and I hope it continues, we've looked like a Premier League club across these channels all season. I thought it was worth mentioning considering how bad the clubs official website has been for a long time now and how much stick they get for that! Maybe it's time to bring that in house next season or choosing a new provider? I know that Palace, Hull and Cardiff chose a new provider once they got promoted and it looks quite smart.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I personally think the interaction with fans on Twitter could be improved vast amounts but hey ho. Man City have the template to follow regarding nailing social media.
Babylon Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I personally think the interaction with fans on Twitter could be improved vast amounts but hey ho. Man City have the template to follow regarding nailing social media. Man City can probably afford to hire about 10 people just to tweet people back.

It's just they have a different skin on their websites.

Not in regards to interaction on that front, but features wise they get right in there, every crevice. I know the consistency of Derrick Boyata's shits as well as when he's due a movement, now.
StanSP Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Twitter could be vastly improved. There's a lot of questions posed towards the Twitter account which go unnoticed. On match-days, it's pretty good.
AjcW Posted 6 May 2014 Author Posted 6 May 2014 Palace, Hull and Cardiff all have the same provider as us, FLi. It's just they have a different skin on their websites. Ahh i see! Fair enough, just looks nicer then . Would love us to create our own site. I personally think the interaction with fans on Twitter could be improved vast amounts but hey ho. Man City have the template to follow regarding nailing social media. Agree with the interaction thing, that's what i consult on and its amazing how many people still don't get it right! My point was regarding content, think they do really well with it all. Seems like a small team too.
Unabomber Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I have asked hundreds of questions to them on twitter with at least 3 of them being genuine and have not heard back once, I personally think that is poor.

Bert Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 The clubs twitter is a shambles. I've never seen them respond to any questions, yet they'll willingly chat to the players.
CosbehFox Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 The clubs twitter is a shambles. I've never seen them respond to any questions, yet they'll willingly chat to the players. Compare to it others, it's good. Where the club could help is setting up a twitter fanzine account.
Babylon Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 The clubs twitter is a shambles. I've never seen them respond to any questions, yet they'll willingly chat to the players. If they start using it as a point of contact they will just got swamped.
Itsthejoeker Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 If they start using it as a point of contact they will just got swamped. Exactly, if they were to do this they will need to set up LCFCSupport or something otherwise peoples feeds will be filled with people getting responses to ridiculous questions like what time kick off is or something.
Fox92 Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Can't comment on Twitter as I don't have an account, but I follow Leicester on Facebook, YouTube and Google+ (for those on here that have an account!) and I think the content is very good. Updates, images, videos are all good quality I agree.
Guest Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 German teams do it the best But enough about your bumper stickers..... What do you think of City's social media?
LAprice_ Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I've been very impressed with the club's attempt at creating a wider media profile. Leicester were one of the first clubs to emulate Man City's infamous tunnel cam videos. It's little things like this which mean the most. The transparency is essential in gathering both interest and respect from the fans.
lgfualol Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 But enough about your bumper stickers..... What do you think of City's social media? Their youtube is alright. Like everyone else said, the rest isn't good.
MC Prussian Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I see they're improving in little steps - from what I've seen, they are getting better in terms of social media use and media output in general. Give it a summer and the "Twitter dilemma" will be sorted.
Fox92 Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Goal Cam deserves a mention. Love it. I agree. And tunnel cam, I like seeing the view of that. Should be good next year when we're playing the United's, Liverpool's and Arsenal's!
Guest LCFC_World Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 Please let there be a tunnel cam next season more often!
foxile5 Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 If the insufferable love in with Mahrez over twitter is anything to go by I'm glad the club doesn't interact with the fans over this medium. 'omg he retweeded me, quick if you mention Leicester he retweets you'.
