Genuine question... Anyone think he is any better than Andy King?

Personally I don't think he'd improve on what we have in terms of the starting 11. No doubting his potential, however arguably we'd need more than just potential this season.

Shows some sheer quality at times in this video

He's a real raw talent with plenty of strings to his bow. For an attacking midfielder come striker he scores a huge variety of goals. Exciting player and I would love to sign him.

Fighting with Wigan for his signature no competition should be with us pretty soon.

Leicester ready to battle Wigan for Man Utd starlet

NEWLY-PROMOTED Leicester are preparing to go head-to-head with Championship side Wigan to land Manchester United starlet Nick Powell.

Why the fvck do they call him a "starlet"? Makes him sound like a slapper in a bikini on the beach at the Cannes Film Festival.

Although this is the Daily Star, which hardly counts, I suppose.

From the glimpses I have seen at the top level, yes.

better than Kingy and younger with the potential to improve much more.

Hmm Wigan or Leicester. I think he'd pick us.

He strikes me as someone that could have a poor attitude,am I wrong?

He's already had a spell at Wigan though, so if he enjoyed his time there there's a good chance he'll want to return to somewhere where he'd already be settled.

Although saying that, he'll probably know our man utd youngsters fairly well, and we are in the peen after all (but his chances might be limited).

If it really is between the two of us, it could easily go either way.

I dont get this one. Didnt exactly set the Championship alight last season, yet some on here seem to want to give their left testicle for him :S

Ross Barkley was absolute dog muck for Leeds when on loan there the season before last and hardly impressed at Sheff Weds. The transformation within a season has been remarkable. Powell started well for Wigan but if we were to bring him in i'd want it to be on a permanent deal.

I agree.

If we do go in for Powell, lets get him permanently. He can set his roots down in the Midlands and become an important player for City.

I'd be willing to pay £7.5 million for him, that's the sort of gamble i'd be making. He could be worth treble that in the next few years.

Genuine question, is he really that good? I've only seen a few bits of him playing here and there and he certainly looks a tidy player but I don't know enough to say . . . ?

It's hard to say due to lack of game time, but I've seen him come on for United a couple of times and get a decent run out in a title winning team and he looked the best player on the pitch.

I think Nick Powell is a bit of a luxury player atm. He can play in all the front roles (R/L/CAM and up the top) and has an undoubted flair and creativity that prehaps only Knockaert and Mahrez could rival in our squad. We need that in a premiership squad. Whereas coming out of the championship we needed a steelier side that could hold a lead and open up average defences we now need some more creative, flair players like Powell that can do that in the premiership up against much tougher defences.

He's also a different option to what we have in the squad atm and I think if given game time would bring goals and assists. He's very close to the top of the list if players I would like to see here. If we could get him on a permanent then great.

I think we might get him on loan - I really doubt they will sell.

But I tend to agree with this. Loan will probably be more possible.

He fits the usual  NP tick boxes and would certainly add class/quality to our sqad , i hope some kind of deal can be done

Looks to be off to Swansea. Another missed opportunity.

Nevermind. We still have a week until pre-season starts. :nigel:

Ooh ooh ooh are we regurgitating the same comments from last pre-season??

I've got one......

I'm really worried about Forest.
