purpleronnie Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Really? a world record chase needed, I would have declared 30 mins before tea.
StanSP Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 World record 445 from 132 overs. This would be monumental if we achieved it but pessimistic me is saying we'll fall short. Bring it on, though!!
leicsmac Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Very surprised at that. Still looks a decent pitch and 440 from 130overs is do-able U serious bro? There's a reason a chase of 440 has never been made before, despite there being many, many opportunities exactly like this one for a team to do so.
StanSP Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Might as well just give you this test with silly wickets like that.
Corky Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Right so when are you lot declaring? Lead of 416. When you get to 450? Cook giving himself another opportunity to get a 100 then declare? Alright Warnie, he's declared now And we've already got two out
Grandad. Posted 30 July 2014 Author Posted 30 July 2014 What a fantastic catch!!! JOE ROOT IS BLOODY LOVING IT!!
marko Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 What a fantastic catch!!! JOE ROOT IS BLOODY LOVING IT!! Big wicket as well because Pujara can score big hundreds if he gets his eye in.
Grandad. Posted 30 July 2014 Author Posted 30 July 2014 Erasmus is really shit. That's embarrassing. How is he allowed to even umpire?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Christ Erasmus is a useless sack of shit, even Dharwan looked sheepish there.
StanSP Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 I hope any attention after the match isn't focussed on Erasmus' incompetencies, but instead on how good a test match this has been as well as a bit of a resurgence in England form & Cook's return to form.
Voll Blau Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 This umpire seriously needs looking at, he is shocking. No question judging from what's happened in this series that the luxury of DRS in other series has made umpires lazier! The fact it's not universal is a joke, it should either be consistently used or not at all. The BCCI has far too much influence over the ICC in being allowed to veto it.
theessexfox Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Looks like a good decision from Cook to let us have a quick blast, almost immaculately played test so far from us.
Brainy Posted 30 July 2014 Posted 30 July 2014 Buttler needs moving above Moeen Ali, even Chris Jordan needs moving above Moeen Ali. Which shows how much you know about Cricket.
Grandad. Posted 30 July 2014 Author Posted 30 July 2014 Which shows how much you know about Cricket. In a ODI style format then I would of moved Buttler above Moeen Ali, I can pretty much guarantee Buttler would have gone out ahead of Ali. The Jordan part was a joke.
StanSP Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 We'll be all out for roughly 250-275. Comprehensive England win.
theessexfox Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Ali can score quick runs though, as shown by him hitting a boundary on the first ball of almost all of his innings
Grandad. Posted 31 July 2014 Author Posted 31 July 2014 Ali can score quick runs though, as shown by him hitting a boundary on the first ball of almost all of his innings Yeah, fair enough. But Buttler still would have come out ahead of him, Jesus Christ, no need for the argument.
StanSP Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Sweepstake on when the first wicket of the day will fall? I'm guessing before 11.20.
StanSP Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Bloody hell. I know we're gonna lose but I'd like to see some effort. Apparently it's been ages since we've won 1 away test match immediately after winning the previous one.
Grandad. Posted 31 July 2014 Author Posted 31 July 2014 Great start. Thank God Erasmus was at square leg.
StanSP Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Hope we get a respectable score. Rahane and Jadeja keeping England at bay for now.
