Captain... Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Apparently there is some footage floating around of the Anderson incident.....have not seen anything on youtube. I've seen the footage of them walking off with Jimmy chirping away at Jadeja but nothing of the incident.
Corky Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Jimmy's been found not guilty. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/28612034
marko Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Well it looks like India's, and in particular Dhoni's, cheap unsettling tactics have been exposed for what they are - lies. The widespread opinion throughout the print media, from what I read after the 1st Test, is that his lies were made up after what Anderson has done to the Indian batting line-up in the previous two series. Sad state of affairs when it comes down to tactics like that and a shame as I think he's a good captain.

marko Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 British media, I suppose? Of course, but at the end of the day they were proven right.
StanSP Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Of course, but at the end of the day they were proven right. Not necessarily. There may have been an incident, but just not one worth sanctioning or punishing the players for. There could have been a bit of a push and a shove but not something that warrants a ban for X amount of time. What the British media have done/did is to just conspire.

If he did then there was an option to downgrade the charge to a Level 1 or 2 offence which wouldn't attract a severe ban. It boils down to unsettling tactics.

This is basically what's been filling up my facebook timeline from India fans I know since it all kicked off. The press have only reported what's been said by Anderson's team mates and the ECB, who have backed him to the hilt. He was found not guilty by an independent arbitrator as was Jadeja, which I'm also glad about. No one comes out of this looking good. Everyone accuses each other for whatever reason and the spirit of cricket gets damaged a little more.
Voll Blau Posted 3 August 2014 Posted 3 August 2014 Plunkett injured, Finn in the squad to replace him.
theessexfox Posted 3 August 2014 Posted 3 August 2014 Hopefully Finn will start then, meant to be a bouncy track which will suit him and he's looked sharp in county cricket, as well as getting 44 wickets in Div 1 this season at an average of less than 30. Wonder if Broad will be rested, meant to have been carrying a knock for a while.
marko Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 So, the BCCI aren't happy with the Anderson ruling and they've written to the ICC who will consider an appeal against the decision. Perhaps we should just let Mr Dhoni and Mr Yadav decide what punishment Anderson should be given. Absolute joke.
StanSP Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 It's getting ridiculous and a bit embarrassing now. Can't they just move on like everyone else?!
Corky Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Exactly. Jimmy needs to control himself and not get involved in spats from now on, we need him so much and to lose him to potential bans will hinder us. Hopefully this incident will have made him and the team realise that.
StanSP Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 I meant from BCCI view but what you say is equally true really.
Corky Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Yes, everyone need to move on, we don't want this overshadowing what could be a thrilling final two Tests.
Voll Blau Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Should be going on Sunday, and the Monday if it goes into a fifth day too. Can't wait.
Guest MattP Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Great win third test, playing cricket to exactly how we should be, I knew it would turn as soon as Col City Fan came in and started calling for change. Pace and bounce galore by the looks of it for OT, should play right into our hands and I fully expect us to win the series from here. Woakes did more than enough for me to keep his place, unlucky not to pick up a couple at least. Cook Robson Ballance Bell Root Moeen Buttler Broad Woakes Anderson Finn I hope the Indians give Pankaj another go as well, I don;t think I've ever seen an unluckier bowling spell in my life. He had Cook and Ballance caught then Bell LBW. His figures could have been 3-25 at one point and the poor guy ended up with 0-150 odd.

leicsmac Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Nowt like losing the toss then doing the damage before conditions become batsman-friendly. Great start.
