Yeah, fair enough.

But Buttler still would have come out ahead of him, Jesus Christ, no need for the argument.

If you don't want an alternative point of view don't post an opinion.

If you don't want an argument, just don't reply when you get one.

Remember that and you may even be allowed back into the main forum.

C'mon Moeeeeeeeen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woakes deserves a wicket, hope he gets the last one.

Who for MOTM?

Jimmy, 7 wickets,

Moeen 8 wickets

Bell 190 runs

Ballance nearly 200 runs without losing his wicket...

Buttler for his quickfire 80 and 6 catches

Cook will most likely get it.

Nah, I'd give it to Ballance personally. He, with Cook, laid the foundations of our first innings score which allowed us to build the pressure throughout the innings and because he wasn't out all match.

I'd say given the pressure he was under, Cook deserves it for equally decent playing performance and captaincy performance. Everything went right for him and instead of just one or 2 players performing for him, about 5 or 6. But in the end he was decisive and everything just flowed. Especially with the follow-on decision when some suggested to put us in to bat again or for England to bat. Ultimately his decision paid off.

He's back to form now as are many other players which sets it up nicely for the next 2.

I guess it's a good sign for England that MOTM becomes a difficult choice to make. Shows that more than one player has played well and the whole team is performing.

In a ODI style format then I would of moved Buttler above Moeen Ali, I can pretty much guarantee Buttler would have gone out ahead of Ali. The Jordan part was a joke.

Fair enough but at the same time Moeen is more than capable of opening the batting in ODI's/T20's, he opens in domestic cricket. Wouldn't deny that Buttler is probably our most powerful hitter but you shouldnt underestimate his ability to score quickly.

In Test Cricket though unfortunately he's batting low down (he bats at 3 in CC) and although some players are an exception its only common sense that the higher up the order you bat you get longer to score your runs. And especially the rate our lower order has collapsed recently he's not had much time at all. He's been better than Robson IMO even though their roles are quite different.

Also this is by far the biggest arena he's played in, he's gone from being at a pretty average county side who haven't came close to reaching any domestic finals in recent years straight into this

One of the best all round performances for a while - everyone pretty much chipped in.

Jack Bannister on TalkSport remarked that England won every session- so comprehensive.

Hopefully Anderson isn't banned, Plunkett back in for Jordan, Bresnan for Woakes? Moeen should be given a more prominent role now, only way he'll continue to improve.

Harsh on Woakes, he bowled well and was pretty tidy offered control and a threat of taking a wicket, he didn't get a chance to bat.

Offered more than Stokes did with the ball, I would give him a run. Jordan is a tough one, he was clearly rusty and very waywards at the start, but got his rhythm towards the end. I would keep an unchanged side, Plunkett in for Anderson if he is banned.

Ishant won't play next test.

Here's hoping Ashwin replaces Pankaj.

Pankaj should do well at OT as it will be quick and bouncy, if I were Fletcher I would be more inclined to leave out Sharma, no need for the extra batsman as he didn't score any runs anyway.

On a side note I can't see Anderson not being banned unfortunately, meaning Plunkett for Anderson would be my only change.

How do you know what the pitch at OT will be like though?

Apparently there is some footage floating around of the Anderson incident.....have not seen anything on youtube.
