Captain... Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Boom! 2 quick wickets, 2 new batsman at the crease, Stan you're going to need two days of rain to get the draw.
Captain... Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Boom! 2 more quick wickets, 2 new batsmen at the crease, Stan you're going to need it to start raining now to save this test.
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Never liked cricket anyway. So England all out for 367. Lead by 215. Heading for a draw I think seeing as tomorrow seems to be a write-off. That's if we can stay in bat for today and beyond I jinxed it.
Voll Blau Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Was meant to be going tomorrow an' all. Thoroughly looking forward to watching the highlights tonight mind.
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Was meant to be going tomorrow an' all. Thoroughly looking forward to watching the highlights tonight mind. Regardless of score, tomorrow looks to be a washout if this Hurricane Bertha shows up.
Captain... Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Suicidal second run there, what were they thinking?
Voll Blau Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Managed to bowl them out in an afternoon with only one frontline seamer on the field. Crazy. Reckon the England team will have a decent night out in Manchester tonight.
Voll Blau Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 And Anderson was so ill he was vomming in the changing rooms. India must be sick as parrots.
theessexfox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 won in 3 days, bearing in mind we lost 3 hours of that for rain, missing one of our top seamers and the other one suffering from ledgy. Great stuff
notnow john Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I'm trying to find what Piers Morgan's comments are but his twitter feed must be down!
Corky Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Shame I missed it, sounded like a fantastic effort to get it won with the weather forecast for tomorrow. What a turnaround in two Tests.
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 As if anyone else saw it as being all over today anyway!
marko Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 The monstrosity that is the IPL and the Indian team's diet of limited overs cricket cannot be helping their Test performances one bit. To lose 20 wickets in 86 overs is spineless. With the exception of Dhoni first innings and Ashwin, not one of the Indian batsmen looked to have a clue about sticking around and building an innings.
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I made that point to my brother earlier today. None of them know how to settle in and tick runs off bit by bit. It's boundaries or nothing in their minds and that's dangerous to do in Tests. There's no conservative mindset about this side. It's just attack or attack. No alternative.
Captain... Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 That's what is so promising about Buttler, he has been called upon to play two different types of innings, one crash bang wallop and one a more patient test innings and he did both, to have his explosive batting at 70would be great, but to know he can also play a proper test innings at 7 when the situation requires it means we have a great replacement for Prior. He will make mistakes and there is still room to improve but 2 very good innings shows he is ready for test cricket and he is not just a limited overs specialist.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Before anyone gets too carried away though, I'd like to add that this is a very poor India team. But as the adage goes, you can only beat what's put in front of you.
Captain... Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Quacking start there, lets see if India can beat their 6 ducks in the first innings of the last test.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Can imagine there'll be some massive changes after this embarrassment of a series. Been ages since we won an away test series and it can't go on much longer. Got a home series vs West Indies (Oct) and then away it's to Australia in December. Yay.
Corky Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Ouch. Johnson and co will have a field day against this line-up.
Guest MattP Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Aggressive decision to bowl first at the Oval when 2-1 up. Good start though.
