UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Seeing as it was 20 years ago today... https://audioboo.fm/boos/824409-wembley-1994-steve-walsh-scores The screaming in the background is Gary Mills, who was part of the Radio Leicester commentary team. He got Neville Foulger in a headlock when Walshie scored the winner. Bizarre, I know...
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Ahh Garry mills [emoji170] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
fox766 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a day so many memories went to all the play off finals and think that has to be the best one of them all.
stripeyfox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 When I watch the winning goal, a bit of me wishes Ormondroyd had scored with that header; would have been a hell of a goal!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Mills . And I thought Youngy wore his heart on his sleeve on commentary.
Orange seat Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a day so many memories went to all the play off finals and think that has to be the best one of them all. I second that. Was made all the better after the previous 2 years results, don't think I could have handled a third loss there.
Gary Eatfood Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a day so many memories went to all the play off finals and think that has to be the best one of them all. Has to be, it was the first time the club had ever won at Wembley and it was against Derby. I was on the aisle that day and just remember after the goal running down the steps towards where Walsh was. A moment that has only been beaten by winning the League Cup at Hillsborough.
Vlad the Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Walsh ran celebrating towards where I was stood that day and I could lip read what he was saying, I'll never forget it. 'You ****ing beauty's, I love you'.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Walsh ran celebrating towards where I was stood that day and I could lip read what he was saying, I'll never forget it. 'You ****ing beauty's, I love you'. The stadium was literally rocking under out feet after that goalAbsolutely fookin amazing
Vlad the Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 I can still feel the emotion of that move and how what was seconds seemed an age. When Ormandroyd headed it I jumped up celebrating only to be brought crashing down to earth when the keeper clawed it out, and I can remember the whole for ****s sake it's extra time then and cursing our luck for not scoring before Walsh rolled it in and sheer jubilation and joy. As Bob said the place went ****ing ballistic.
Bramhall Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Great memories - will never forget the sound in the stadium when that went in. Skinner would undoubtedly have showed miles more passion than this commentator though - but Gary Mills (?) in the background sounds brilliant.
Bramhall Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 And of course everyone knows that the picture of Walshy celebrating the winner is on the cover of one of the Oasis dvds (one of the Gallaghers reading the paper), which was always a great trivia question.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 I missed Walshy putting it in - I had threw my hands over my face at the initial save!

Simonb Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What an amazing game.. not my first ever match but first I remember I was 8 at the time walshy was fantastic and the crowd was amazing unlike nowadays where its full of corporates
ScouseFox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 1994 what a year the year i was born, great times for the world
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 May 2014 Author Posted 30 May 2014 Skinner would undoubtedly have showed miles more passion than this commentator though Frank? Ethel? Trust me, *this commentator* was screaming with joy inside but trying to be as professional as possible on air
Babylon Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Great memories - will never forget the sound in the stadium when that went in. Skinner would undoubtedly have showed miles more passion than this commentator though - but Gary Mills (?) in the background sounds brilliant. The commentator is the OP!! Ha
Claridge Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Remember a leicester fan walking round wembley with a rams head dripping blood everywhere. Also sat almost in the middle and went in the derby end where they were all singing and joking before having to walk through a dividing space to get to the leicester side.when I opened the door it was un real.people being sick, pissing everywhere and leicester fans going mental. Knew then we would win,we're leicester city we do what we want
Guest bss9401 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a game. The only time I have wept with emotion when we won! I had wept after the Swindon game so it was all the more special.

Class trivia, love stuff like that, will be testing a few of my mates with this one! Do you know which DVD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
st albans fox Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Remember bumping into bryan hamilton on the way back to the car. He wasnt optimistic about the following season. One of the few things he was right about us! Wierdly, i cant remember much about the game. perhaps thats cos we were sh*t for much of it. Strange to see a derby side lose undeservedly to a late goal in a play off final .......................
Illusion35 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Absolutely amazing day, the noise was unreal and celebrations just brilliant. I was 16 and it was truly unforgettable.
