Exactly, it's like the fans who travel away then put down a nil nil draw on the 'guess the time of the goal scorer' sheets on the coaches.

Why would you travel away, spend your hard earned to see a goal less draw?

It's the best one to go for if you're trying to win a bit of cash. It is the most likely outcome after all (although maybe that wasn't the case with us this season  ;))

Which Everton players are even at the World Cup?

Howard and Mirallas, is that it? So I think they'll be in decent shape and they're without Lukaku and Deulofeu so it won't be a definite loss.

Voted Palace because I am wrong about everything. Last season I thought we would be lucky to make the playoffs, so here's hoping my prediction skills are no better than they have ever been.

I'll give you a clue, several of them play for the country you live in.

i've already told everyone i know we're going to beat everton so we fu cking better

60% think we'll beat Everton, seriously?

A big reality check is incoming.

We've just wiped the floor with the championship and will go into the season full of confidence, against an Everton side losing their top striker this summer. I'd be confident, at least until we see how they replace lukaku.

Everton: We score 2 goals incorrectly ruled out for offside, concede to a counter out of nothing, then equalise in injury time.

Chelsea: Shown up - lose by 3.

Arsenal: They forget how close our first game was and don't bother putting in a shift. We demolish them 5-1.

That's what they call a "banker" in betting circles.

In all seriousness I reckon Everton, we'll be well up for it and I think we'll surprise them.

Yup, there could be shades of that first game back in the Prem (v Southampton at Walkers in 2003) re the surprise quick out of the blocks element, although 2-0 up after no time at all and we ended up drawing 2-2. That was a pattern throughout that season which ultimately cost us and saw us spiral down to League One in the end, albeit some years later! That was basically the story of our season last time we were in the Prem. so let us hope we retain our leads we may build up on occasions with more discipline this time under Nige, starting with an opening day win! :-)

32 people saying Everton, do you realise how tough they are to beat, can see them comfortably beating us 2-0 or something like that.

Things involving us, are never straightforward, we will probably beat Man Utd, so gone with them :D

Stop being such a kill joy. Home game :-) sure it will be tough but let's give it untill Xmas, see how it pans out and enjoy the ride, like you say it's never stright forward but it is time to enjoy

The way people are going on about us it is as if we just scraped promotion by the skin of our teeth! ala QPR, we f**king romped the championship with style and conviction, okay the prem is a step up in quality but it isn't a massive step up, our team imo at this moment in time is bottom half prem standard.

Unfortunately I've put Burnley.

I know not winning until October sounds shit but it's one hell of a start.

Everton are a bloody good side. We would need a big, big performance to beat them.

Chelsea away I'll be astounded if we won. Arsenal at home... in some ways I'd actually fancy us more in that than v Everton.

Stoke and Palace are nailed on draws IMO.

The majority of bottom half sides would not win one of those six.
