queensguardfox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Having supporting leicester properly for the last 20 years, i must say i believe this is one of the best times i feel being a leicester Fan, Obviously apart from the league cup victories. The Squad i believe has never looked so strong, the starting 11 has never been so debated and never had such strength in depth since i can recall. When was the last time we had a stronger keeper? walker? flowers? keller? Defenders, we still cant decide schluup or Koncheky? some saying a new LB Needed CB we have 4 contenders all can be argued over a starting place Morgan, Moore ,Wasyl and new signing Upson! Look at the midfield: Knockaert Mahrez Albrington Drinkwater James King Hammond Who do you start on a 5,4, or a 3 player midfield it is honest baffling. Then there is the Attackers: Vardy Nugent Ulloa (pending personal terms) Wood GTF Who would of thought one or two of last years superstars (Vardy or Nugent or both) would be starting on the bench? This post will get shot down by the haters and the people saying we still need more signings to beat the relegation, But i suppose that is the beauty of these forums!! one thing i believe they can agree on there has never been such a contested starting 11 and stronger squad. Lets all get behind the Squad, and lets have it!!!!!! COYB
Xen Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 You forgot to mention Kaspar in goal, who's one of the best keepers we've had in the last 10 or so years, and then young players such as Schlupp, Moore and De Laet in front of him who are only going to get better. And that's not to mention the way our club is being run, with respectable owners who are not only wealthy, but genuinely seem to care for the club. It's a fantastic time to be a Leicester fan.
Corky Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 We seem to have a lot of likeable players currently, players like James, King, Vardy, De Laet seem very grounded, Knockaert's enthusiasm, Mahrez loves to retweet our fans comments, even the older players like Hammond, Morgan, Konchesky don't come across as having massive egos and a been there and done it attitude. Drinkwater had issues at the start of the season but now he seems to be enjoying his football and being at the club. Obviously success helps but this success appears to have been achieved with a squad of players with good attitudes.
TrentFox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Yes. I always enjoy supporting the city during July.
SamW Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 It's certainly the best time to be a fan for me. I only started going in 2004 so had to endure the dross under Levein, Kelly and Holloway. Last season was a truly exceptional season, especially since we couldn't hit a barn door for the last part of the season before it. The Players we've got are playing the best football of their careers. Look at Vardy for example, would you have imagined we'd be offering him a four year contract this time last year? I wouldn't.
Bayfox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Well it beats the last decade. But in 20 years. Mon, cup finals, upsetting the big boys. Being a teenager with no responsibility. Umm I'll let you know in may.
kingfox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 We will either be the surprise package this season coming, or we will flop, this team was very good in the Championship, but the Premier League will be 10 times as harder, this season could be a mixture of exciting & depressing periods and that's something fans will have to get used to. Exciting times definitely, but can't help but feel a bit apprehensive as well.

Vardinhio Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 this thread definitely needs a question mark on it....
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Of course it is, even the times when we were getting thrashed every week was a good time to be a Leicester fan, because good or bad being a Leicester fan is a great thing.
Leicesterpool Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Every football fan has there highs and lows, at the moment it feels like one long party. It's great to hear so much positivity and excitement around the club from everyone.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Football, like life (as Ronan told us), is a rollercoaster. Enjoy the highs and remember them during the lowest lows. And always keep everything in perspective. (* ducks for cover suggesting such a thing on the internet *) Even when we're shiit, we're still Leicester City and I wouldn't want to be anything else
bigbiff Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 I have been a city supporter for a long time. I have seen us at our lowist ever (3rd tier) and our best ever, good old martin o'neals team. This team we have is the best team so far, yes better than the cup winners, maybe not as much fire grit and determination but better. Thi is a great time to be a city fan, just not looking forward to loosing matches as last season we where spoiled As long as we beat man United I wil be happy
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Any time spent in the Premiership, is a good time.

Dont you know we were near league winners in the late 20s and challenging for the double in the 60s . . Even in the 70s we were better. Can you imagine playing Man U in a cup final and it being a major shock when we lost. Lets face it if we finish in the top 10 it will be regarded as miraclous as opposed to par for the course in the past . You could say last seasons team was the best ever if you area teenager but best teams etc are throughout the clubs history not how long you have been watching.
sdb Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 worth remembering this when we have 4 points from the opening 6 games and everyone's all doom and gloom!!!
