It is indeed won't begrudge Wales and Northern Ireland qualifying but the idea of Scotland and Republic of Ireland qualifying aswell

Following the success for Germany is now the beginning of there down period?

Don't you have a Fools and Horses VHS omnibus to watch?

Incredible tournament so far.....Germany/Holland really struggling to find form, others like Spain/Portugal wobbling....Some remarkable performances by Iceland, Northern Ireland etc...Even Luxembourg, (who have been 'cannon fodder' since I was a kid in the 60s), are far from embarrassing themselves...Loving this breath of fresh air !!

Germany had a poor side out today. Loads of injuries, and sickness. If they had a fully fit team they'd have bossed our group.

Norn Iron!

Cant believe this, we might actually qualify, win our home games and afford to lose v Romania and we'll be fine :)

(Yes I know we're in a shit group but I don't care!)

The Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Poland group is a tough one.

The Swiss aside, when you look at England's group, we really have it easy...

Based on recent performances and the vibe around both teams, I think the Sweaties might give England a bit of a game in the so called ,'friendly' next month.

Germany are going to destroy Gibraltar. It'll then come down to GD for 2nd and 3rd.

I'm actually dreading that game, timing wise its all wrong both on and off the field. I don't see a point why we're playing them, we played them fairly recently.

Actually what is everyone's predictions for the Scotland v England game?

It's a game England can't win in, if we win the reaction will be no praise for us just... "it was a brave performance for the scots" and if we lose or draw we'll never hear the last of it.

I'm surprised at tonight's result... We actually won a game. A striker scored a brace.

This is the moment in time when I usually wake up and realize we've just played San ****ing Marino. lol

Rodriguez even gave away a penalty.

This is a mere consolation - our inability to convert clear-cut chances more efficiently continues. Drmic in a dirty rut at the moment, still looking for a goal in months.

You Danish mate?

I'm Portuguese and i'm loving it atm.

I am. Congratulations. You didn't deserve any more than a point. And I hate that it was Ronaldo of all people, who once again was kept fairly quiet.

are danes angry at kasper for being a bit shit or just angry that you lost?

How did Schmeichel play? Seen their goal, and their cross was a good one, not sure he could do about it.

I just wanna see a drone on the pitch with a big Union Flag on it after tonight, maybe even with a 'always the servants, never the masters' written across it.

Wonder who the Celtic lot will be getting behind in the Ireland v Scotland matches...

You must be trolling. He had a fine game. If anyone's to blame for tonight's result, it's Bendtner and Eriksen who offered absolutely nothing. Possibly Eriksen's worst game in a Danish shirt, and he's had a lot of duffers mind you... The cross for their goal should have been blocked and Kjær should beat Ronaldo in the air before Kasper even enters the equation. It's very frustrating to lose, partly because we did not play anywhere near as good as we can and partly because Portugal were their usual shitness going forward only to once again be rescued by Ronaldo...

In fact, Kasper has just been announced MotM, so no, Danes are not angry with him.

i meant for the goal, not his overall game. he made some great saves and surprisingly his distribution was pretty solid for most the match. just wondered if he was being blamed for the goal or not.

yeah i didn't even realise eriksen was playing until they showed him coming out of the tunnel at the start of the second half.

No, the blame is put squarely on the team for not clearing their lines when they had the opportunity. Olsen lamented the non-existant free-kick Portugal got seconds before. The pundits think that it was a 'difficult' ball to come for and admit that he probably wouldn't have had a chance with the header had he stayed on his line.

Extra incentive knowing 3rd would get you a playoff at least whilst the big nations have been complacent?

Just came on to say something similar to this. It's become even easier to qualify for this tournament now.

This is a superb effort from the home nations.

I'm not sure I'd be confident of England winning at Greece or Poland at the minute. Good effort from Scotland/NI.

Within literally two seconds Scotland concede lol lol

This is the exact mentality that annoys me about england fans! Not conceded in five, turned over Switzerland (a top ten ranked team) in their own back yard, and won every group game without conceding. Some things are just never enough for some. We're better than both Greece and Poland.

yeah I seen savage on Twitter looking for bites basically saying how great it must be to support any home nation side except england. idiot. who's won all 3 games they've played? yeah us. who's not conceded a goal? yeah us. who's actually 100% going to qualify again? yeah still us.

i don't particularly like Scotland or Wales but am enjoying their attempts to progress here, but everyone suddenly thinking any home nation side could come close to england in a competitive fixture needs their head checking. we are far, far better than any of them.

I wish other people could see it like this. We are the only home nation to qualify for a major tournament since the turn of the century. They have a good start to a campaign and they're the best thing since sliced bread. Wouldn't be surprised if all of them choked either. I only really dislike Scotland but it would be nice to see them all qualify. These nations are playing at their absolute best and still aren't guaranteed to qualify. Even at our worst we have struggled through groups and qualified.

Totally agree that none of them would get close to us either.

Why are people blaming the Serbs?

Main provocation is clearly from Albania with that flag incident. Thank **** they didn't allow their fans in otherwise it would have been a right bloodbath.

The Serbs are getting the brunt of the blame because, the way I see it, everything that caused the situation to completely melt down is their fault.

(Actually, it could really be UEFA's fault for allowing the two nations to be paired in the same group considering Kosovo, or not demanding the matches be played behind closed doors or at a neutral venue, but that's another matter.)

No doubt the banner/drone move was provocative, but it was just a RC helicopter with a small banner. But the scuffle that happened afterwards was nothing to write home about until the Serbian bench cleared, and Serbian fans invaded the pitch to attack the Albanian players. There was a massive security and police presence at the game, yet they were nowhere to be seen until well after that incident.

I get that Albanian/Kosovar-Serbian relations have a very low boiling point. And I get that teams in that area of the world have a certain hardcore element amongst their support that isn't to be taken lightly. But there's nothing in this that I can see being directly pinned on the Albanian FA, but a whole bunch of things that the Serbian FA will have to answer for.

Time and time and time again, Serbian fans disgrace themselves and the Serbian FA seems to have little ability to control its fans. This is the second Serbia match that has been abandoned in four years due to Serbian crowd disorder. When UEFA consider this, and also factor in other incidents of violence and racism involving Serbia, they have a real case behind slapping Serbia with a major penalty.

If this match is replayed, I think we can reasonably assume that it (along with the return leg) will be played behind closed doors, and possibly some other Serbian home games, too.

In any case, the whole thing is a disgrace. It's also a disgrace that people at the bar at the Italian joint by my job were watching talk shows on the only TV there... I should have gone to the Greek place instead, although I'm not sure what kind of a mood they'd have been in today...
