Webbo Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 No, if it's out of a pot it's milk first, teabag in a mug? Milk in after the teabag is out. If you can't tell the difference you don't have a sophisticated palate.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I really thought you were going to put Mrs Thatcher as your favourite T.Sooo much fanny here in Cambridge isn't there Cambridge Fox?

FrankieADZ Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Teapot or mug? If you are using a pot, then milk first, if you are making it in a mug then milk after you have removed the teabag, milk first is preferred, but milk and bag should never share the same vessel. agree with u on both
Samilktray Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Only the uncultured peasants of this world can't appreciate a good coffee.
Finnegan Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Only the uncultured peasants of this world can't appreciate a good coffee. Oh look, it's Septic Sam.
Samilktray Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Oh look, it's Septic Sam.I'm not sure I appreciate your attitude.
Webbo Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 If you consider the difference all that significant (bag in mug) you don't know good tea! I feel like I'm discussing quantum physics with Joey Essex.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 For standard tea you won't get much better than Yorkshire, I also like a bit of Earl Grey. Ditto!
Captain... Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 if you are making a tea, you make a pot!! What kind of animals are you people? Efficient ones, if I am making a cup of tea for myself, I boil the minimum amount of water and chuck a tea bag in the mug, if I do it in a teapot, then I either have to use a big teapot and more water which takes longer, or a little teapot which makes no real difference to the taste as it is not much bigger than the mug. Then I have to pour away the rest, or let it stew in the pot and go cold, then pour it away, then have to wash up the teapot and the mug. I bet you put your milk in a dainty little milk jug too, rather than pour it straight from the bottle.
MooseBreath Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Spar "Tea Bags", 80 odd bags for about 35p. Plenty of milk and a heaped teaspoon of sugar and the shit all tastes the same anyway. A barely perceptible hint of a bland, wooden flavour. As an addiction it has bare skills but as a flavour experience it couldn't be more dull. Coffee is like an explosion in comparison. I guess a preference for tea hints at a more pedestrian lifestyle in comparison to the thrill seeking adrenaline rush of coffee life.
BrummieFOX Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Can't beat a brew. I have PG Tips and Twinings. Strong, dash of milk, no sugar. Lemon and Ginger tea before bed.

FoxyPV Posted 13 August 2014 Author Posted 13 August 2014 Milk always last. Thompson's is the brand we have in work. Lovely stuff but loose leaf is always better.
Carl the Llama Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Don't understand the Yorkshire love: A couple of years ago when their adverts showing them taking tea to America were permanently on TV my mother gave me a cup of tea which just tasted wrong. Turns out one of my sisters had developed a love for Yorkshire which had absolutely nothing to do with product placement or perceived popularity. I soon moved out(unrelated) and never tried it again. 2 weeks ago I was at my parents' helping them get ready for holiday and again my mother hands me a cup of tea which had a weird off-putting aftertaste as though something unsavoury had been slipped in it. My sister had been round again and left behind a load of Yorkshire gold that they were trying to use up the cheeky gits... PG tips is by far the realest of teas. I don't even mind if it comes in a flat, round bag, as long as it doesn't taste like it's been rinsed in white spirit.
cambridgefox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Sooo much fanny here in Cambridge isn't there Cambridge Fox?oh mate, the place is dripping with it this time of year.Shame it wasn't hot it's not just the tourists either,I think we are spoilt,I've said this before but at last I have a witness.Where in Cambridge are you working?
lavrentis Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Yorkshire Tea is way overrated, not even that nice
Stadt Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 To be perfectly honest, if you're using most popular brand tea bags then it makes very little difference what order you chuck it all in. The end result is about the same. Being snobbish about how you prepare your typhoo or tetley tea is a bit like insisting your Carling comes in the correct Carling glass for flavour. It doesn't matter what you serve it in, it's a dreadful beer. He's right on potted tea though, of course. This is funny given your dislike of hipsters, tea hipster.
promised land Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I've got these http://www.johnlewis.com/hugs-english-breakfast-tea-bags-pink-box-of-10/p231304742 And these http://www.harrods.com/product/breakfast-strong-tea-bag-tin-125g/harrods/000000000002456085?cat1=new-food-and-wine&cat2=new-food-tea-and-coffee&cat3=new-food-tea-bags
Finnegan Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 This is funny given your dislike of hipsters, tea hipster. I'm not a hipster, I'm a snob. If I was a tea hipster I'd probably refuse to drink Ceylon and English Breakfast because they're too mainstream yet I'd spend all my time drinking Typhoo, "ironically."
