ElusiveEd Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 http://news.sky.com/story/1323378/asbos-for-extremists-to-tackle-uk-jihadists These are people who are fighting Jihad in what must be the Worlds most dangerous areas to be in, who think that the after-life is a paradise so have nothing to fear in giving their lives for their twisted beliefs. These are people who are in control of rockets, guns, bombs and tanks, not to mention other arms and means of huge destruction, who kill and murder any non believers in their path. These are people who, with bare hands and in cold blood, BEHEAD innocent people and post the filming of the deed online. And what does this UK gov't look at doing?????? Serving them with fvcking ASBO's WTF?????
Fox92 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 There will come a time when something actually happens on our streets. Cannot combat them. But then again, I don't understand why we have to follow and get involved anyway.

Samilktray Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I came in here expecting a thread highlighting the ever rising price of the Freddo.
stevelcfc Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Angers me to they obviously need to do something a little harder than handing out ASBO's, though really what can they do? Diplomacy won't work neither will sending the army out there.

Fox92 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Like trying to behead a soldier outside his barracks! Something far worse/on a larger scale, I think.
Rincewind Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 There is a man in America who has control over one of the largest armed forces in the world and a little red button that could destroy the world and they have made him president. He should at the very least get an ASBO.
DennisNedry Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I'd have it so that if any 'british' muslim went to fight for IS, and is proven to have done so without doubt, has all UK citizenship revoked and is issued a lifetime ban from the country.
ADK Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I'd agree with that. We need to take a tougher stance on extremists.
Webbo Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 You can't take away citizenship away from someone who born here.
DennisNedry Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 You can't take away citizenship away from someone who born here. Surely there are some old laws regarding exile we could drag up? If not, new laws can be made. We need to be tough on terrorism, otherwise it'll just keep growing.
Voll Blau Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Surely there are some old laws regarding exile we could drag up? If not, new laws can be made. We need to be tough on terrorism, otherwise it'll just keep growing. Like what? The "They're You're Fvcking Problem Now Act 2014"? If we've got home grown problems with religious extremism we need to look at ways of dealing with that in-depth rather than palming them off on to other countries and assuming the idea of British-born terrorists will cease to exist. You can't just ban people from the country and think that will make the problem will go away.
Rincewind Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I'm sure they'd find a way round it. It would certainly upset a few more if their relatives were suddenly shipped out the country. How many have they caught at it by the way? Do we have a big enough army to fight back? It wont be as easy to deport people as it was when convicts were sent to Australia. For one thing it may be noticed when a son or uncle is not at the dinner table.

For one thing it may be noticed when a son or uncle is not at the dinner table. Seeing your dad/husband/son/uncle beheaded is probably upsetting. And what do you mean 'they would notice they're missing'? I'd imagine after being sentenced in court to be exiled they'd have a clue where they went, I doubt it would be some Soviet middle of the night abduction job. Although as mentioned shoving British terrorists into other countries won't help at all. *edit: I see what you meant about upsetting them now, apologies.
MPH Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Make them see all of Rincey's photos he's posted in the phunny photos thread. On second thought. I don't agree with torture....
Rincewind Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 It was slightly tongue in cheek. It was can't they make a law up? The only law they could 'make up' is the unwritten one. Undercover of the night.
MPH Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 IF I WAS PRIME MINISTER.... As far as im concerned, if someone chooses to 'represent another nation' and participate in ' acts of war' then they have turned their back on their so called home nation and forfeit their nationality as they have chosen to take on the nationality of somewhere else by representing them in said war.
MooseBreath Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 British citizenship can be revoked but only if the person holds dual nationality. No idea if many of the British terrorists have it or not though. Sadly I have to agree with voll blau in that I don't think picking off a handful of known terrorists is going to help much. The problem has been allowed to develop unchallenged on these shores for far too long now, it's way too late for that. It does look increasingly like we'll have to go down the dangerous route of imposing stricter restrictions on the expression of opinions and that is a terribly backwards step to have to take which could impact on us all. Such a shame that society wasn't strong enough to allow this to be nipped in the bud years ago when the problem was already becoming obvious.
ADK Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I don't like that direction at all. It's something the Americans have done far better than us. Maybe not revoke people's citizenship but we could at least confiscate their passports. They do that with people who throw flares at football matches and I think fighting jihad is at least as bad.
Rincewind Posted 24 August 2014 Posted 24 August 2014 A month or so ago a bill went through Parliament allowing authorities to look at a persons email etc. There was a thread long gone about it. The bill went through quietly with little objection and little media coverage. On the same day it was announced that terrorists were discovered in planning to use special equipment to get through airport security. This story was front page news. Now lets think about this. The secret service discover plans about what terrorists are planning and announce it to the world. 'Hey you there with a covered face, we know what you are doing' The next day it was back to normal for the media. Some celebrity doing naughty things. Maybe we should not all panic too much at the moment.
Harry - LCFC Posted 24 August 2014 Posted 24 August 2014 Would it not be better to lock them up? Stateless fanatics roaming around the place could lead to trouble further down the line. They'll probably hate us for rejecting them and be more inclined to involve themselves in an attack in future. Life behind bars is surely the safer option.
