Jon the Hat Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 2-1 win. Palace are solid but not very exciting, I can see them scoring first, then pushing a little too much and getting hit on the break. Another comeback win, like against Stoke. (Copyright LVG)
Carl the Llama Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Expecting a sterner test than Utd. Many were saying the last game would be a reality check however I think after the week's events this will be our early-season reality check. Either a nervy 2-2 draw or a 2-3 loss which we'll feel hard done by from and end up looking a bit like the ManU fans do right now, though of far less ridiculous proportions.
palace123 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I think palace will play 1-1 draw sounds reasonable. Palace won't have Man Utds defensive frailty (I can't believe I've said that but if you ship four goals in thirty minutes that's defensive frailty for me). Not sure if NP will play the same side as Sunday, depends on what formation Palacepick. We've Schlupp and Mahrez, who usually play on the wing, who were left out last weekend but featured in the previous matches. Should be a good match. I think Palace will play same team as vs Everton a 451 but we may play a 4411 at home, specially if chamakh is back, I really cant decide on this match, usually we have much less posession but I think I read a stat that you guys had less than us so I dont think any side is likely to dominate the ball, id expect it to probably be 55-45 in your favour, I think technically in the middle you will probably retain the ball better From a palace point of view I think we may be able to get at leicester by dominating the midfield physically in terms of headers and 2nd balls, we have 3 warriors in the midfield and also Bolasie/zaha and Puncheon all look a threat and on good form, you'll need to double on these players because if you leave them 1 on 1 like Everton did they cause trouble.
LCCFox96 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Think we'll be in for a real scrap down there. Warnock's sides are always hard to play against and fairly dirty to boot! I'll go 1-1 with two goal mouth scrambles and tap ins. Ulloa for us and Puncheon for them. Different challenge for us this weekend! Worried for the full backs on Saturday. Can see Bolasie and Zaha giving us the run around. Bolasie in particular looked very good against Everton. But both Konch and De Laet have been solid so far so long may it continue! Any points on the road are good points in the premiership!
surrifox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 probably 2-2 - Colin's teams are not renowned for their defensive capability and as well as Wes and the other members of the back 4/ defensive midfield have performed I think we will concede goals too. The last time we played palace at Selhurst they had zaha (and possibly Bolasie ) in the side and they didn't trouble either kennedy or Liam who were the full backs that day and we won with Mills in the heart of our defence
kingcarr21 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 So what do people think our formation will be?? Will we go with same team and set up as vs Man U. Surely if Palace do play 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 then we will match that. Does Vardy start over Nugent?. Pearson sure has some selection headaches.
fuchsntf Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 History shows us, this fixture features big scoring games, and usually high quality..... so a 3-2, but for who.??...16:55 Saturday will show us. For Superbru predictions 2-2.
ADK Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Depends how seriously they take tonight. If they use much of their first team I think we'll be fresher and win by a couple of goals.
filbertway Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 1-2 Bolasie Vardy Moore Leo can't keep scoring surely!
palace123 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Depends how seriously they take tonight. If they use much of their first team I think we'll be fresher and win by a couple of goals. None of our first team will play tonight, only players who need game time like Zaha and AJ. Warnock has said this game is an opportunity to look at the squad players

foxfanazer Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 None of our first team will play tonight, only players who need game time like Zaha and AJ. Warnock has said this game is an opportunity to look at the squad players Are you happy with that or would you like to have a proper go at the cup? Obviously league is more important but you strike me as a team that should be alright to stay up and have a half decent cup run
palace123 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Are you happy with that or would you like to have a proper go at the cup? Obviously league is more important but you strike me as a team that should be alright to stay up and have a half decent cup run Weve done it for a good few years now, first year there were a few grumblings but now we are used to it, in some ways its good to see the youngsters and squad players play, tonight for example daft as it may sound Palace fans hope to see our club legend Andy Johnson back in a palace shirt, plus Zaha and Jonny Williams should play so a few exciting players.
ARM1968 Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Close. Probably 1-1 or 2-1 to palace. We're probably a better team than them. But that doesn't always get you the results.
Chug Laguna Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 club legend Andy Johnson This is the saddest thing I will read today but I'm not jumping into the fire here as I quite like Palace and they are one of the few teams that I harbour no ill will towards due to multiple friends being massive supporters Oh its 2-0 to Leicester BTW
ScouseFox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Bolasie/zaha and Puncheon all look a threat and on good form, you'll need to double on these players because if you leave them 1 on 1 like Everton did they cause trouble. bro you never heard of paul konchesky he don't need no help
ScouseFox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 actually in all seriousness remember when zaha "burst onto the scene" in that game against united a few years back then played us and was hyped to ruin our defence and he didn't touch the ball all game cos paul the engine konchesky literally picked him up and put him in his back pocket and only let him out at the end to windmill in his face
palace123 Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 I dont think Zaha will start, he played 120 minutes on Wednesday Palace will probably line up as follows ................................Speroni............... .......Kelly............Dann........Delaney...........Ward ................................Jedinek .................Ledley......................McArthur .....Puncheon.........................................Bolasie ..............................Chamakh
Rushden fox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Leicester being Leicester would suggest a palace win! Just glad people aren't on here saying we will murder palace as I'd imagine some are thinking that! We'll murder palace!!! And get beat on the break 1-0
