1993fox Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 We're 3 away from overtaking Derby Count's point count in all of 2007-08 Credit to them, they kept their stadium fairly well-packed the whole season. But how do you manage 11 points in 38 games????
lcfcsnow Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 By being really terrible... Almost as terrible as us taking Howard and Oakley off them and getting relegated to league one during the same season.
blueonyou Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 We're about quarter way to the magic 40. Good progress.
MGLCFC Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 If we can pick 9 points up every 7 games we'll be safe
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 and yet half the team that got those 9 points has been under fire for the past 2 weeks. Fcking glad we're doing better than I thought otherwise this place would be in melt down.
Cunningfox Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 As much as I would like Derby's record to stay as Derby's record, I fancy Burnley to 'beat' it.
Mark_w Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 As much as I would like Derby's record to stay as Derby's record, I fancy Burnley to 'beat' it. No chance, Burnley are a lot more competent than that Derby side.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Burnley will go down with around 30-35 points in my opinion. They're a far more competent outfit than Derby were for sure, but still some way off being good enough for this division. They'll beat teams that are low on confidence and struggling to score, and nick draws away by parking the bus for 90 minutes. It does just highlight how genuinely terrible Derby were though, 29 defeats from 38 is utterly shameful.

Playing well and losing is one thing, playing poorly and dropping points as a result is another. People are entitled to be irritated when we can do so much better.
bovril Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 You're only as good as your last game. Cliched, but rings true....
LCFC Rennie Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 You're only as good as your last game. Cliched, but rings true.... If that's true then were already relegated.
1993fox Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 We're about quarter way to the magic 40. Good progress. That and we've already chalked more wins than they did that whole season. I don't think I'll ever get over how horrifically that campaign was for them

They're going to play below par at some fcking point though arent they every single side in the country does at some point in the season there is no need to cut half the team, not to mention Burnley are not the walk overs everyone thinks they are and they are and Palace away might seem like an easy game if you're a bone head and go off the "we beat Man U so we'll piss this lot" logic, truth of the matter is we go in to that game as second favorites. They finished 12th last year and have some very good players. If anyone is letting the Man U game go to their heads it's the fans not the players, they now seem to be under the impression that they're going to get that kind of performance every week, never going to happen, teams will have off days.
harpendenfox Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 I have to say I'm absolutely loving this season. Sure a bit frustrated with Saturday's result, but thrilled with how we've done so far and determined to enjoy the ride.
Bert Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 11 points would be sweeterSo would 21 but life's a bitch and then you die
Dan Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 As much as I would like Derby's record to stay as Derby's record, I fancy Burnley to 'beat' it. No-one will beat it in my lifetime.

suffolk fox Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Let's still be a little cautious please long way to go yet. This time last season Cardiff had 8 points and were 13th in the table bottom two were Sunderland and Palace, neither of which went down. So far we are doing ok BUT ( there is always one) we cannot afford to do what we did on Saturday sit deep on a lead and hope to hold out for a win. We need to go back to what we did in the early games keep pressing teams and be hard to beat because of our shape and quickness in counter attacking football. Sadly, against Palace and Burnley I saw none of this. Not in the slightest bit bothered re Derbys total I will just say yet, we haven't reached it.

I don't see the point in bringing up Cardiff - They had a lunatic for a chairman who shot a manager performing well in the back for disagreeing with him. Vichai and Top meanwhile have shown themselves over the past 3 years to be sensible football men.

Fox Ulike Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Amen to that. A lot of people on here don't seem to be enjoying it I'm just not a big fan of conceding 96th minute equalisers. Other than that though I'm over the moon. 18% of the season gone and we sit comfortably mid-table. Boo-yaa!
