Not annoyed me but a fking idiot spotted this morning.

Wrong lane at a major junction. Instead of jumping across white hatch lines at a bit of speed from a standing start, thus rectifying the situation without impeding others..... they drove slowly across and didn't decide to pick up speed when they entered the correct lane and when they exited the junction. Cars using brake lights and I would imagine words were sworn.

Driving along Troon Way, see an ambulance in my rear view mirror, so as do most cars, indicate left and pull to the side slightly to let it pass, the driver behind me really has a death wish. If they ambulance was driving any faster it would have gone straight into the back of her.

Very similar on Narborough Rd walking to the match last week. Everyone pulled over to the left, one car started to go left then randomly opted to go back into the middle of the road, then straddle both lanes. The ambulance and other drivers had no idea what was occurring.

Roadworks on the M25 back from Bromley last night were ridiculous. M1 North junction from the M25 at 21a was shut and the diversion signage was wrong had you going down to 19 (because 20 was shut too) going back to 21a again. Ended up having to pull over and work it out myself. Was going in circles for about an hour.

The last 4 lots of diversion signage I've followed has been utterly shite.

I used to be quite mischievous and rather enjoyed messing with diversion signs. You can barely trust them.

Down our way (East Sussex/Kent) we get a lot of overnight road closures. Not fun trying to navigate around country lanes in early morning darkness, and the last thing you can trust is a diversion sign as many are left over from a previous road closure.

Folkstone to Leicester - 7.5 hours.

M20 tail back to the M25 junction due to previous accident clockwise - wasted an hour there.

Dartford Tunnel, the usual tailbacks there.

M25 anti clockwise flooded, two lanes out - wasted another hour there.  On the other side an accident at the same spot which closed the whole of the clockwise section there.

M1 to Luton four lanes of solid traffic travelling no more than 10mph and at the end of it a stranded lorry which shut down 2 of the four lanes.  Another wasted hour.

The only part of the journey that went well was the charging point outside of Maidstone.  Still managed a smile too when passing 222.9 for diesel at Newport Pagnall services for a toilet stop.  lol

EV driving - happy days, pity the road network is a total shambles.

I was driving up the M1 late on Friday night - I encountered someone in the inside lane travelling at possibly 30 mph (it might well have been even slower) and then somebody in the 2nd outside lane (whilst nothing was close by until I passed them) with the weakest sidelights on in the pitch black. Yesterday, driving in poor light and dreadful weather I lost count of zombies either without lights on or with the bare minimum of terrible sidelights at the front only. That plus the standard fare of certain types speeding up and slowing down and then looking at me like I was doing something strange (for context, I was driving with a limiter, so my speed was unchanging - safely so I might add).

One of my biggest bugbears is people driving at dusk or in poor visibilty with just sidelights on.

In case anyone is unaware & if the cap fits and all that, most of us drive around with lights on auto but are you aware that in heavy rain conditions which affect visibility like we have had recently your car becomes a ghost to those behind you as your lights are not on as triggered by light or lack of but one could assume that they are because you have the switch to auto.

Top tip, Play safe and if you have to put your wipers on then manually put your lights on, you can always flick to auto after the rain has stopped.

I could not agree more

Not on the road as such, but I was in Morrisons today, then I get back to my car and a random woman has decided that my bonnet was a suitable seat. I couldn't believe my eyes, didn't know what to say so I just clicked the button to open it and she looked at me as if to say "what are you looking at?"

Get off my car perhaps?! Absolutely stunned at the audacity to sit on another person's car, let alone someone that you don't know. Honestly speechless.

My car switches on auto lights in the slightest drizzle. It also has auto wipers so I don't need to activate them manually. Unfortunately these auto systems result in lazy and less aware drivers.

What was she doing? On her phone, taking a fag break? Obese and unable to walk any further?

Watching her husband unload the shopping into their car.

Literally nothing else, no phone, nothing.

lol You should have made her polish your bonnet with her arse. (No euphemism intended)

Brother in law has a new car (no idea of make and model) and he was telling me of all the safety features and how the car alerts him to various potential hazards and how it even makes some choices for him.

It got me thinking.

So many drivers fail to indicate these days, so it would be a nice feature if the car disallowed you to turn a corner or exit a roundabout unless you had indeed indicated.

That would make more drivers consider other road users and pedestrians.

Not a bad idea but that might cause confusion for other drivers expecting a certain manoeuvre based on the positioning and speed of the vehicle. Many drivers will anticipate a turn even if the vehicle isn't indicating but if that turn doesn't happen they could take an action that others weren't expecting.

There's quite a few cars that will try to correct you if you move out of lane without indicating. Think the above, as satisfying as it would feel from a pedantry point of view, cars just refusing to move at times is probably way more dangerous than we think

Having established this is a bit dangerous, perhaps the steering wheel could deliver an electric shock. Not enough to cause the driver to crash but enough to be slightly painful and encourages the use of the indicators :D

On the subject of indicating, I'm seeing an increase of drivers indicating when then don't need to. Like when they reach a sharpish bend in the road. I assume its due to their sat nav showing an arrow and them assuming they are making a turn not just following the road and they aren't looking at the road they are driving on.

I'd much rather people indicate when they don't need to rather than not at all
