Voll Blau Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Reminds me a bit of Partridge Over Britain where he tries to help the Tory politician. We just need some bald brummies. "Full steam ahead..."
Guest MattP Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 'Are you alright Ed?' *High pitched voice* 'Yeah...are you?' lol First time in my life I felt sorry for a Labour leader at that minute. He looked like he was going to cry.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Me neither. Why didn't he say that? Best thing he's done and he's almost managed to look being responsible for ISIS. You think?! That's the Labour supporter shining through I think. They both got a kicking but this is horrid. Even I'm not enjoying it. He did pick up towards the end and actually answered the questions, fairly self deprecating as well.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Ed got better when it turned personal, he had it easier anyway with no record to defend and barely any policy to talk about. Cameron easily comes over as the only one that can be Prime Minister, the point about Putin said it all
Strokes Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Miliband did better than I expected but I think Cameron did slightly better. The format was strange and didn't really achieve an awful lot.
Guest MattP Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 He did pick up towards the end and actually answered the questions, fairly self deprecating as well. He showed a bit of fire which was good bit it's just so obvious he's totally incapable of being PM.
Mark_w Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 He showed a bit of fire which was good bit it's just so obvious he's totally incapable of being PM. What makes him any less capable than David Cameron?
Guest Bilo Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 He showed a bit of fire which was good bit it's just so obvious he's totally incapable of being PM. He wasn't great on the economy, I'll say that. Other than that, he was refreshingly honest and had plenty good to say. This just goes to show that Balls is the liability rather than Miliband, a more credible Shadow Chancellor and Labour would be laughing.
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 What makes him any less capable than David Cameron? He doesn't have the presence to pull it off.
l444ry Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Miliband was the clear "winner". Never thought that would happen!
Finnegan Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Oh look, right wing voters think Cameron did better and left wing voters think Milliband did better. What do we learn? They both got a grilling and nobody exactly changed any minds.
Guest MattP Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 What makes him any less capable than David Cameron? Mainly in my opinion the fact he's predicted pretty much everything wrong on the economy over the last five years while the other has taken a country to being the strongest western economy. But just in terms of everything you see you can tell one commands respect and one doesn't. Although I know you won't agree on that given you are openly voting for a party that admits it wants to take Britain into permanent recession. I mean come on - according to MORI most Labour voters don't even think he's fit to be Prime Minister, what on earth does that say?
Stadt Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 nobody was a clear winner, Miliband was the 'winner' in the sense that he didn't come across as completely incompetent, Cameron put in a par performance but that was probably enough

They both got a grilling and nobody exactly changed any minds. We'll soon see when the polls are announced. Given they are neck and neck in the actual polls no one will really be able to complain about the result.
Hollism Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 I was disappointed with the format. Advertised as 'Cameron vs Milliband', yet they never appeared on the screen at the same time. Hopefully there will be a proper debate at some point. Milliband came out of tonight a lot better on the whole, mind.
pSinatra Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 He did pick up towards the end and actually answered the questions, fairly self deprecating as well. I think that's his best quality & one that can't be said of most politicians. He does seem relatively genuine & in it because he wants to make the country a better place. He may not have the qualities to do it but his heart seems to be in the right place. I could possibly vote for Milliband (I won't be). It's Ed Balls that ruins any chance of voting Labour.

GaelicFox Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 The scary thing is both are a pair of TIT's Putin must be pissing himself texting Merkel "the two boys are so useless , we must invade"
Guest MattP Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 He wasn't great on the economy, I'll say that. Other than that, he was refreshingly honest and had plenty good to say. This just goes to show that Balls is the liability rather than Miliband, a more credible Shadow Chancellor and Labour would be laughing. And as I've said before - the fact Balls is somehow still in his job probably shows why the party isn't fit to govern. Certainly not fit to govern a country that is about to go through some serious austerity.
Guest MattP Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 First poll in from Guardian. Cameron 54-46 Miliband - closer than I thought.
BlueSi13 Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Does any of it really matter in terms of how Miliband performed? We all now know a vote for Labour is a vote for the SNP and the very real possibility of the bitterest of breakups for the United Kingdom.
