sorry lads but you are a bit wrong on this .I was in M3 from 2.15 and never heard an announcement or tannoy we didn't know a copter was coming in but that was great, it was obvious there was a parade from the cadets and flags but even when Alan Birchenall was talking you couldn't hear anything in our section, you don't appear to have a tannoy system there were no teams announced or half time scores apart from what was on the screen

 

at the last post a load of lads came up the spiral stairs singing but were soon shusshed by others, then some more merry lads came up doing the same and they were shusshed, most of the visitors didn't know what was going on your communication was poor and we were not disrespectful

 

I am 60 and my dad is 93 (and still driving) on 6 June 1944 at 7.30a.m. him and a brigade of 200 men of No 4 Commando ran up the beach at Normandy and through Gerry lines to Pegasus Bridge, as seen in the film The Longest Day of the brigade only 40 survived the first 7 days so if anyone had disrespected the minutes silence I would have knocked them out so its not what it seems.

If it was the concourse then it can be excused but from J it sounded like a group of fans repeatedly singing on and off during the minute, which is why the East Stand were booing them after.

Every year we try and turn this into a 'our lads are more patriotic than yours' the morons that get all charged up and start thinking they are green st need to shut the **** up. First of all let me lay my cards on the table...I am a Baggies Fan and I was there on Saturday.

Before I go any further I would like to apologise for the few Albion Fans who were singing during the silence and for the offence it caused for ALL fans, not just Leicester but also Albion fans.

EVERY Albion fan who were already in their seats DID observe the silence and I mean EVERY Albion fan, it was those who were coming through the Concourse who were singing....The first wave of them who came through, quite oblivious to the min silence were soon hushed up by their own fans and they did shut up, they stood where they were and became quiet.....Then the next wave of fans came through also singing and were stuck behind the first wave of fans and AGAIN they were hushed up which did take a few more seconds to get through but they did shut up.

I have to be honest here there was one idiot at the very start of the min silence who decided to shout "Baggies" and take it from me he was dealt with by everyone around him and if I knew who he was I would have gone up to him later and let him have it as would have most Albion fans.

Like every club you will always get an idiot and these idiots spoil it for the rest of us.

Lets get it into perspective here, there was chanting but they were oblivious to what was happening and credit when it's due when they realised they shut up and credit also to EVERY Albion fan who, once heard the noise told them to shut up.

Was there any chanting during the half time remembrance, was there any abuse...NO....Again EVERY Baggie fan stood on their feet and applauded.

Now, the Astle tribute, I did hear the booing, the first time at any ground this season and I was shocked but looking back I can sort of understand it in a way because of what you thought of the chanting but at the end of the day it was disrespectful and it made many of you no better than that Idiot Albion fan who shouted out at the start of the silence....As it happened Astle made his debut against Leicester at Filbert St so Leicester City has a meaning to the Astle family, many of whom were there on Saturday.

That booing spoilt my day and any Leicester City fan who were sitting by the Albion fans knows that during the mins silence the noise came from the concourse not like the booing from the football "Fans" of Leicester City who were sitting in their seats at 9 mins past 3.

I have also seen the abuse Dawn Astle (Daughter) has got on twitter and Facebook and it has NO PLACE in football and shame on those who are doing it but I know it's the small minority that are doing it and that Leicester City fans on the whole have always been good to us and friendly.

Great atmosphere on Saturday and a great ground & club shop, kids loved it....much better than our club shop which is an embarrassment to Premiership football but my god you need to sort that parking around the ground. We were parked behind a pub over the road from the ground and they kept us in there for over an hour and when we came out we couldn't get where we wanted because it was blocked, an hours journey back took two and a half hours !

I hope you turn it around and I think you will scrape it, we need more "Local" clubs in the Prem to break the London/Northern hold

Nope, totally wrong....ALL of the chanting WAS in the concourse apart from one moron who was dealt with within 2 seconds.

As for the Jeff Astle applause, first, as pointed out, it was in the 10th minute, Brom fans spent most of the 9th minute singing "Your support is fvcking shit!", and were still singing it in the 10th minute when the banner came out, until they realised and eventually the whole of the away block started clapping. It was hardly well observed by them, and if they want other fans to join in they probably shouldn't be giving a load of abuse.

We play to our strengths on here - moaning is what we're good at.

From my perspective, I thought the minutes silence was pretty well observed. There's always a few idiots and we have plenty of our own but once it settled down is was well respected.

I can totally appreciate the bad PA system as it would compliment to bad toilets, bad catering and overall bad design of the stadium concourse. We probably have the worst designed "new" stadium anywhere.

As for the Astle thing - I certainly wouldn't be disingenuous enough to boo it. He was a great player (and singer on Fantasy Football League!) but I hadn't really been aware of a "justice" campaign for him. I know that his death was related to him perhaps heading the ball a lot but what justice is it that you and his family are seeking (genuine question)?

On Saturday when they clock ticked round to 0.09, some of your fans were still singing, "your support is fvcking shit", that's a fact and it took a while for the whole of the away section to start applauding, that's also a fact as I was sat directly opposite and saw the banner come out, heard the abusive chants die down, and the rest of the section slowly join in. Then some of our fans joined in.
