Wilson_6 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I really dont want him to get sacked. But i would like to see how many people actually want rid.
loAf Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 yeah I want him to stay, even if it means we go down, were building something good here, and the experience this year will help us come back up and be stronger the next time. That said obviously id rather that it works this time, and there is still plenty of season left yet.

Guest ttfn Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 For me it depends on whether the owners are hell bent on staying up this season. If so, Pearson's surely on borrowed time. Oddball tactics and substitutions and a complete failure to stop a rot which has come largely against bottom half sides suggests that we're going down unless something drastic changes. But for the long term prosperity, stability and arguably even pride of the club I'd like him to stay.
foxsake123 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Or lets protect what we've already got before gambling on whether we can bounce back straight away. He's a good football league manager as far as I'm concerned.
lee7 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Voted 'given time' but not at the expense of us being relegated. Teams so often get relegated and fail to come back up at the first, second and even third attempt. I would rather us stay up this season than to get relegated under Pearsons guidance.

That said obviously id rather that it works this time, and there is still plenty of season left yet. He's been building something good for 3 years in preperation for the Premiership. I dont see any evidence to suggest that another year in the Championship would help at all?
Monsell1976 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I like to say given time, but have voted go, as I cannot see him turning this around, as I have said before, the last rot couldn't be sorted, and the end of the season came at the right time, ok we got in the playoffs, but the way we played, still suggested things were not great, yes the season after was great, but different league, and the rot is early season. And it's already been said the owners want to stay up, and at this rate, it's not looking good.
Focks Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I have voted for sacked on the basis that he appears to be out of his depth tactically, but I can understand the arguement for keeping him long term (as he would be possibly the best option to get us up again).. My issue is that I wouldn't have any more faith in him when we are next in the Prem than I do now. The even bigger concern is if NP goes and another manager fails to stop the rot and we go down anyway, will he be sacked over the summer leaving us in terminal decline again
hackneyfox Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 If we get relegated there are no guarantees we will one straight back, so many other teams thought they would and then struggled. If we go down then those players who are premier class will likely leave, if we keep roughly the same squad that wl just prove that Pearson got it wrong in not judging just how difficult the premier is, something that is blatantly obvious to all. Just can't we him turning it round now, hope I'm wrong as we've signed every bugger under 28 to a 4 year contract.

How many of the other teams that went down, did so with the same manager and kept him, they mostly change managers and struggle. It doesn't prove anything about Pearson getting it wrong as we have no idea of budgets etc. Only the owners have that information.
lgfualol Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 If we do go down he is the manager I would want. But I don't want to get relegated and I don't think we have what it takes to stay up anymore.. Tricky situation. Either keep him and be better off next season, or take a massive gamble and hope a replacement is better. I'd rather we just hire a premier league assistant or something to help him. Set piece coach whatever. If we get relegated who says he wont resign anyway? That would really be shit.
Bayfox Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 if he goes back to 442 starts having a go at teams I'll back him. but anything akin to the swansea, west brom, Newcastle performances and I'd be tempted to pull the trigger if I was the owners. I know results are important, but I want to be entertained the 1st 3 home games did that.
Rasmic123 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 its the first time we've lost games in nearly 2 years, people are bound to be pissed and worried. But he is the right man for the job in the long term and once the players get their confidence back, we'll stop the rot.
Fox Ulike Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I just think he needs a really big kick up the arse. He's not 'out of his depth' tactially. The tactics we need are fairly obvious and just what every other struggling team does. He just needs to go 4-5-1 for the rest of the season and STICK TO IT, rather than chopping and changing every game. Pack the midfield. Play on the break. Close down games when we're in sight of valuable points. Don't play players out of position. Don't go gung-ho away from home. Don't ask players to perform roles that they're not familiar with (eg Konchesky at wing-back, James as attacking midfielder, Vardy on the wing, Ulloa dropping deep). Pearson has done the hard bit in creating a motivated, talented young squad. The rest should be easy but he is making an almighty fvck up of it lately...
SMX11 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Back him. We can push the panic button and end up with a short term appointment like Pulis and not be better off in the long run.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I think there are arguments for and against. On one side he seems tactically inept in the Premier League with a complete lack of a plan B when things aren't going right. He keeps making questionable squad and formation selections and seems unable to accept that he is wrong. On the other side, he got us promoted to the Premier League, having coming close on previous seasons. He has built a tight squad who DO seem to have respect for him. Changing the manager at this point would mean giving them time to "get to know the squad" and that could be the final nail in the coffin for this season. We are almost at Christmas and time is slowing slipping away. Personally, I would stick with him until Christmas. If we haven't improved by then and lifted ourselves of the bottom, its time to change managers and try and salvage something. We have a tough run of games, but this is the EPL - get used to it.
Fox92 Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Back him. I think it'll just be worse for us to completely get rid of him now. However, I respect Nige and everything he's done here, great man for us, but some of his tactics, selections and substitutions during a game have been questionable recently.
Jace Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 I love Nige done a great job winning 2 divisions with a massive ammount of points makes him a Leicester legend, but even I am now wondering if he is out of his depth in this league. The Premiership is changing quickly and given how Newcastle, QPR and West Ham have already turned their performances around the smart decision would be to keep him especially if we go down. I wouldn't say parting ways and bringing someone like Pulis would be a bad move though
Babylon Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 The clubs aim is 17th, we are 1 point away from 17th and safety. That's one Wes Morgan not heading onto Cambiasso's knee, one Matty James not tripping a Burnley player, Jamie Vardy converting once of his numerous chances on Saturday. Are Hull looking at changing manager, they have spent a fortune compared to us and have one point more?
Guest MattP Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Back. I hold the same opinion as I did at the start of the year, he has the season then we revaluate in the summer.
ScouseFox Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 i think we're heading for relegation, but there's still a long way to go. don't think mass changes will necessarily be beneficial. and if we are to go down, i think nigel is the best man to deal with the relegation, players (those who want to leave, want to stay and replacements) and situation to bring us back up. we might not come straight back up if we go down, but i think nige would give it a better shot than either a random foreign import (ole gunnar at cardiff, that fella at fulham) or someone shit like pulis.
Jace Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Going on the betting sources he looks relatively safe only 5th most likely in the Premiership http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post
Focks Posted 1 December 2014 Posted 1 December 2014 Did anyone else read the title of this thread as: Should Big Nigel have a back, sack and crack? No.. just me then
