Electricity Sports 1960 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Since the Liverpool game I have scanned most of the comments made by fans in various sources. There are plenty of complaints about Nigel Pearson and to a lesser extent Kasper Schmeichel. Nowhere do I see any criticism of Esteban Cambiasso. Schmeichel didn't hold on to a cross which contributed eventually to a goal for Liverpool. However most people seem to have forgotten the very poor miss by Cambiasso. If he had kicked the ball into an empty net at that stage of the game, the result would have been different. Not only would the final score be different, the confidence of the team would have improved.

Bert Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 How do you know this for sure? This is just conjecture. If Cambiasso had've scored not one person can say for certain how the game would've ended up. That's a fact. Yep, he should've scored. But he didn't. We lost. Move on. Support the lads rather than slag them off.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Apart from a couple of things, Esteban didn't put a foot wrong last night. As far as a blame list goes (something I don't have) he'd be well down the list.
Bayfox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 how many minutes after his miss did we score? so we still went 1 up. yep we still lost
Callabinho Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Esteban has been our best player, it's not his fault he reads the game quicker than most others, his passing is pretty much spot on. How about we stop picking a scapegoat a day, and actually support the lads?
Fox92 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Cambiasso was our best player yesterday. Yes he was, again, I agree. He reads the game far quicker than any other player, as mentioned above.
Bert Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 The only thing that really annoys me about Cambiasso (and it's not really his fault ) is the first time balls he plays. Sometimes he's so further ahead of everyone else's wavelength they get wasted.
LCFC1996 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Best player last night, has been since he joined, step ahead. People are so desperate for a scapegoat at the minute, its ridiculous.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Very poor miss but since we scored shortly after I'd suggest there's no way you can say it would have made a difference. This isn't a 'blame game', too many of our players aren't playing well enough, in fact they all aren't. Some will make bigger/more significant errors than others in certain matches, so their faults will be highlighted more. It's not about seeing who we can slate next. The manager is in charge so he will take the blame for our very poor run.

Renart Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Our best player so far this season to be fair. Even the best players miss chances and it was cancelled out by the fact that we scored so quickly afterwards (it wouldn't have made it 2-0 if he had scored the first goal - that is illogical). He had a really good game. He is not beyond criticism but I find it hard to do so at the moment as he is really playing very well.
Stevosevic Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 We scored pretty much directly after Cambiasso's miss, it didn't impact the result. Oh, and he was our best player.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Did Col used to play for Electricity Sports in the 1960's?
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I don't think it was as easier chance as people have been making out. Mignolet was close to covering and to score I think he would have had to smash it - making it harder. Surely Morgan's calamity defending and rugby tackle was more a turning point. Lambert would have been left with a tight angle, Kasper makes himself big and Lambert is so slow that Wes may have recovered. Kasper should have also held on to the ball... That said, I'm not playing the blame game. We showed again in patches that we are a decent side - but it's individual errors that are costing us at both ends at the moment. I'd shake up the defence, but leave the midfield and forwards as they have been for the last 2 games [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TOMBlcfc Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He was our best player yesterday imo and it wasn't long after his miss that we scored (the attack after) so who's to say it wasn't one or the other
GingerrrFox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If anybody cares to watch back after a loss you will see that Cambiasso sprints from 30 yards away because he had the game awareness, vision and anticipation to read the situation before Mignolet even kicked the ball. Yes he missed the chance (he really should have scored) but I defy anyone to tell me that any of our other players would have had the foresight to get in that position. That's what he gives you. The amount of times yesterday he was one step ahead of the opposition in anticipating the play was immense.
peach0000 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He works hard, has quality and shows passion...... sometimes for me he's a bit slow but that doesn't take away from the fact he's a quality player..... plus he seems to have a few goal in him which i wasn't expecting.
filbertway Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Wasn't Esteban's miss pretty close to Ulloa scoring? I imagine the outcome wouldn't have been much different, the only difference would be that Mignolet would have been a little more rattled. After hearing that he hasn't looked fit it was good to see him outpacing Henderson for a 50/50 in the dying minutes. I reckon with another midfielder in there we'd look a lot more solid. Would love to see Cambi sitting just behind Drinks and James with 2 out and out wingers. 1 up front I don't think would see much difference as our strikers hardly link up anyway. Would prefer Vardy but I'm sure Ulloa could do the job.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 ..vindicated.. miss of the season goes relatively unmentioned. Good job it wasn't Vardy or Schlupp.. The Beckford factor is having its rebirth. Cambi is good at the pretty stuff, not good enough at the ugly stuff IMO. I think we are in a dogfight already and the ugly stuff takes precedent at this present time. However, I'm in the minority so will let it go. I'll be happier when the pretty stuff starts winning us games.
AyewJoking Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Heres my blame list: 1. Pearson 2. Nugent 3. De Laet 4. Graham Taylor 5. Pearson

It goes "unmentioned" (actually mentioned in several places), because a) he had a very good game and b) we still went 1-0 not long afterwards. Plus it was hardly miss of the year... he wins that one for missing at Swansea. But fair play to him that he's actually looked like scoring, unlike King, James, Drinkwater etc. Beckford has nothing to do with it, he was utter gash and clearly out of his depth. Unlike Cambiasso who clearly was the best player on the pitch for us.

You can't create a new username to vindicate yourself I assume the OP is relying on the tremendously stupid argument that if you miss a chance and then score, you "should be 2-0 up". Had we scored the first, the second would never have happened, you know, kind of like when you go back in time and step on a butterfly, that kind of crazy shite.
