McGoldrick - Again

Recommended Posts

Born in Nottingham, played for Coventry and with no Premier League experience whatsoever. No way is he going to join!

:D

God help us if we do. He is no better than we already have, so we don't want to go down that road again.

Kevin Phillips was on 5 live tonight and when talking about Southampton he said 'in January you want to buy the finished article'

McGoaldrought doesn't have premier league experience so I wouldn't put him in that bracket.

I was at Bolton-Ipswich on Saturday and was impressed with him - lively, direct, links up play, caused Bolton a few problems, wicked shot on him. Not sure if he's the answer in January or if Ipswich would part with him anyway. The left back Mings would do nicely though.

Please god NO! 7.5m for him is laughable.

Ipswich fan and colleague of mine thinks he's worth even more. Says he's absolutely fantastic and will definitely be a prem player next season regardless of where Ipswich finish. I don't think Ipswich would sell, though.

Can see Assombalonga in the Prem within the next two seasons, looks like a real handful for defenders and knows where the net is.

I agree and suggested Assombalonga in the summer. Quick, strong, good finish.

I thought Terry Robinson was eyeing up all these crap players!

He was never responsible for eyeing up players, that is down to Pearson and his scouts... Robinson I believe was more to do with negotiating deals and trying to bring in the players Pearson wants. He got the sack so I guess he took the blame for the poor summer signings we made, obviously unable to land the top targets Pearson wanted...

Pearson must be eyeing up crap players then!

I guess he would have a list of players, that was handed to Robinson, identifying the guys he wants. Some of the players brought in may only have been like 5th or 6th choice.. I would assume the Owners have got rid of Robinson because he was unable to seal deals for Pearson's top targets

Looks like we are heading for championship then if this the ilk of player we are looking at.

After seeing the success of Ulloa, I don't see a massive issue with it. My concern would be his injury record.

If we fail this season and have on our books, we would possess a Championship strike force that no one would fancy playing against.

Ulloa's goal ratio is far superior to this chump. I really hope this is a rumour.

Anything to do with him playing the strikers role rather than the role behind the striker.

A role Ulloa himself has had to play whenever Vardy has started this season?

I met and played football with Chikhaoui when I went to Tunisia a few years back. I have followed him loosely since and from what I can tell he runs hot and cold. Can play either as a striker or an attacking midfielder so could be what we need
