kingfox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 When he is good he is good, but to say he has been consistent this season is laughable, none of our players have been consistent this season.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Winding the clock back a bit Fjortoft had an absolutely mental 5 months at Swindon Town in the early 90's, netted about 15 goals in 5 months, and they were proper shit. Still Riad is better, obv.
adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Ok so mahrez will not be sold in this transfer window , he would only be able to leave the club if something ridiculous came in which I've heard is 20+ million is highly rated by pearson , staff and leicester , mahrez is also very happy at Leicester and has no intentions of leaving !
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 haha yes that's true. i was being deadly serious though, i can't think of any player who's been this consistently good for a side who picked up 2 points in 13 games. can't work out if I'm delighted or distraught that people from other clubs etc are noticing how good he is now. Just got to enjoy watching a player who can drift past opponents as easily as Riyad can. My favourite City player ever and I started going when Pleat was manager 25 years ago. We haven't had a player as exciting in that period.

Although I wouldn't go quite that far . I am surprised such a comment has come from someone who has witnessed the skills of Luigi Glombard and Gabor Bori.
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I think izzet aside, mahrez is the best player I've ever seen play for us. And even then it's a different type of excitement, once mahrez starts running with a ball you just never know when he's going to stop. He can go past 6 men in 10 seconds and make it look like he isn't even trying.

Love the buzz when he starts running at someone.
Dan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If Wilfried Zaha went for 15 million or whatever it was without proving himself in the premier league and arguably in the championship too, I don't see why Mahrez should go for any less if does end up going. English premium truly is the most laughable thing in football.
Stadt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I never saw Izzet (I probably did but I was too young) so Mahrez is the best player I think I've seen us have.
Jace Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I remember when our fans were saying the same about Knockaeart couple of years ago
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I remember when our fans were saying the same about Knockaeart couple of years ago tbf knockaert in the championship did some remarkable things. like literally extraordinary. difference is riyad is doing these things every single week against man city, liverpool, spurs, arsenal, chelsea etc. he's an unbelievable talent and he cost us less than half a million quid. you could buy 7 and a half riyad mahrez's for the price of one george boyd
MPH Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If we don't stay up, he'll clearly be gone. Otherwise we will need to ultise his skills with new signings.
artursteppe Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 is he the best player to ever play for a team bottom of the league? Peter Shilton was. Best goalkeeper the world has ever seen. ( Some Leicester fans might say second best ). If it hadn't been for that arse*ole Don Revie Shilts would have got 200 caps for England, sorry guys, that is a bit of a serious answer to a silly question!
Finn Claw II Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Mahrez doesn't really need to go anywhere now - as the standout player (with ulloa) he can wait until the end of the season. If we stay up, great one more season with us. If we go down someone will pick him up. £5m in Jan is a joke though, £10m in Jan at least - perhaps less if we go down.
dannythefox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Not going anywhere till the end of the season IF we go down.
Dan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 At my age of 21 I'm struggling to think of a player we've had that I enjoy watching as much as Mahrez. Superb.
Stadt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I think the ACON (or whatever the acronym is) might just help us keep Riyad in the long term
Dan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Hopefully Feghouli of Valencia tells him what shithouses Villarreal are and he decides to stay here.
muzzy1981 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I remember when our fans were saying the same about Knockaeart couple of years ago Great opportunity for Knocky to step up whilst mahrez is away, I have a feeling we haven't seen his best in the prem yet
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Peter Shilton was. Best goalkeeper the world has ever seen. ( Some Leicester fans might say second best ). Danno Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 He's easily the second best player in the league at the minute behind Hazard. There's not much between the two apart from Hazard is probably a bit quicker.
J.Lisemore Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Le Havre must be so p*ssed that we nabbed him for £400,000. His ability is there for everyone to see, he's easily a £5M+ player.
tetly Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I would think if he carries on the way he has we will get 10m plus for him. He is a very good player and bigger teams will be looking at him for sure.
Bamba's Babes Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Worth more than £10M when you factor in potential. That means Leicester will sell for £5M maximum. He is an utter joy to watch play football.
