Captain... Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Liverpool play very narrow and don't have wingers as such, with konchesky out, would anyone fancy a 532? Moore Was and Wes at the back with Schlupp and RDL as wing backs, James, Cambiasso and Drinkwater in the middle then 2 from Ulloa, Nugent, Vardy, Mahrez up top?
queensguardfox Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Same team as Hull apart from JS dropping back and Tony Knocky in. 442 in possession, dropping back to the 4-1-4-1 seen against hull out of possession. Vardy in around 60-70 fresh legs to go hopefully pinch a late winner...... COYB two on the trot!!!!
Fox92 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 They looked good going forward last night. Mind you, Swansea did somewhat gift them two goals. Not really one for looking at past results, still think we'll lose. Would love us to get something though, definitely would take a draw.
weller54 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Let's be realistic here.. We won't get anything from this game.. Damage limitation is the priority so our confidence doesn't take a battering!...2-0 loss would be ok!!!

Damage limitation is the priority so our confidence doesn't take a battering!...2-0 loss would be ok!!! why not? yeah we probably won't but so far already this season hull (who we just beat) and sunderland (who we probably shouldve beat) have gone to anfield and got points. this season's liverpool are doggo. their top scorer in the league is own goals ffs. we'd have to play pretty badly to get battered, or they'd have to turn in a much improved performance compared to 99% of their season so far.

They beat Swansea 4-1 last night!.. Do you think we're a better team than Swansea??
ScouseFox Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 They beat Swansea 4-1 last night!.. Do you think we're a better team than Swansea?? no, but we might have a better game plan or a better way to deal with liverpool than to just let them score and eventually even start scoring for them. are we a better team than swansea? no. are we capable of a better performance than that joke swansea put in last night? most definitely.
Monsell1976 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Liverpool have hit form now, and we are not expected to get anything from the game. I expect us to still give it a go, but keeping the score respectable is important, 3-0 Liverpool or below would be a good effort from the lads.
Stan Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 They beat Swansea 4-1 last night!.. Do you think we're a better team than Swansea?? You really don't understand how football works....
StanSP Posted 30 December 2014 Author Posted 30 December 2014 They beat Swansea 4-1 last night!.. Do you think we're a better team than Swansea?? How do you explain us beating Stoke a week after they beat Man City then? We're better than Stoke but they beat Man City - are we better than Man City? No.
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 If we're solid and try to frustrate them, who knows? We'll be a threat on the break and we don't concede early they might run out of ideas. Wouldn't make a judgement based on the Swansea game. They gifted Liverpool 2 goals and missed some great chances themselves. Just need to concentrate on our game and see what happens. And if Sterling doesn't get banned after Cisse did then the FA are a joke.
Katy Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I wish the FA would hurry up and tell us Sterling has been suspended (yeah right). I think we should just take pot shots at Mignolet all game and see what happens, worth a go.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I have a bad feeling about the Liverpool game. If Sterling plays, I think it could easily be our biggest loss of the season.
StanSP Posted 30 December 2014 Author Posted 30 December 2014 I wish the FA would hurry up and tell us Sterling has been suspended (yeah right). I think we should just take pot shots at Mignolet all game and see what happens, worth a go. Agreed, Katy.
daddylonglegs Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Think Katy has a point in that we need to test Mignolet as much as possible, however I thought his main positive is shot stopping? Get balls into the box as much as possible. We need Ulloa to have as many touches in the box as possible in my opinion. I'd go with: Hamer Simpson Wasyl/Moore (if too tired) Morgan Schlupp - is he eligible?? Drinkwater James Knockaert Vardy Mahrez Ulloa

Drinkwater James Knockaert Vardy Mahrez Ulloa Entice him off his line then chip the bastard, he can't do a lot with those. Harass the defence into doing a desperate pass back to him, he folds like a deckchair with those. He'll have a blinder now! Git!
LCCFox96 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Unchanged bar Schlupp to left back and Knockaert in on the wing. Be foolish to change a winning side if at all possible. I think we can get something out of this. Their recent attack of Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling scares me opposing our defence but likewise their defence is not brilliant either. Go all out and attack them. Any point we can pick up on the road are good points. Burnley had Liverpool on the ropes and we had our periods against them at home too - we've nothing to lose so lets see if we can get something.
Number 6 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Having got the win we go into a game where most expect us to lose. Might see a bit of pressure released. Bit of a free one this, I expect nothing and a point would be great. Need others around us to have a poor week.
weller54 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 You really don't understand how football works.... O really!!... You must explain it to me sometime!!!?..... O ye of all footballing knowledge!
Claridge Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I'd put an extra body in the middle and aim to break with pace: Hamer Simpson Wasilewski Morgan Schlupp Cambiasso Drinkwater King (if fit - James if not) Mahrez Ulloa Nugent Subs: Smith, Vardy, Moore, Knockaert, James, De Laet, Hammond wheres the pace?
ronnup Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 O really!!... You must explain it to me sometime!!!?..... O ye of all footballing knowledge! You have made your self look a bit silly though chap. It's a primary school attitude. We beat them and they beat you so we're better. It's juvemile and lacks any actual footballing intelligence. So he's got a point. wheres the pace? Nugent. Mahrez. Schlup. All very quick.
jimmer Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I take it Albrighton is injured? Tempted to give Knocky a run out, but think RDL will offer a better defensive option on the wing and does have pace to break. Hamer Simpson Was Wes Schlupp RDL - James - Drinky - Mahrez Nugent Ulloa But then where or how do you fit Vardy into it all? hmmm Hamer Simpson - Was - Wes - Schlupp James - Cambiasso - Drinky Mahrez - Ulloa - Vardy Not a clue how Nige will approach this
ronnup Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Could be a bit of a ding dong this if NP goes for it. I'd be tempted to and see if it rattles them. Think we are best on the break, but so are they. Failing that, could be a cagey bag of shit 0-0. Which will probably be NP's plan and I'd snap it up personally.
les-tah Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 if we line up a basic 442 against Liverpool we face being embarrassed.
davieG Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I reckon Vardy and Nuge will be the stsrters as Ulloa came off exhausted against Hull and he's down as doubtful on some fantasy football games.
