We are looking at going to NYC for our honeymoon next September. We were meant to go March 2020 but that obviously fell off. We would want to make it special and combine with another city in America that is nearby. The obvious one would be Boston or maybe Philadelphia but does anyone have any recommendations or advise? Cheers.

It’s a bit further west but Chicago if you can manage it. Probably my favourite city in the world. I’ve never been to Boston but Philly Is also cool, and a lot closer (you could get the train from Grand Central if you didn’t want to fly).

Looking at all inclusive holidays September 2023. Not our usual type of holiday but we've been non stop with work and life the past few years and the coming 12 months are pretty full on we just decided we will save up and take something relaxing next year.

Any recommendations on where to look agency wise? We've looked at the usual TUI, Thomas Cook etc but wasn't sure if we were missing somewhere. Ideally looking at 7 nights somewhere in Europe, although I'm determined to convince the Mrs to take an extra few days off and do somewhere a bit further a field such as Carribbean or Mexico. Initial budget is around £1250pp but can go higher for the right trip, any suggestions of resorts are welcome.

Jet2 seemed the best and most reliable in my admittedly very limited experience.

We have always used Tui for that type of holiday.

Cape Verde is a good shout, kind of a poor mans Carribean. Check out Sal rather than Boavista. There isn't much to do except enjoy the sun and the beaches.

Flights are really expensive at the minute for late 2023 as the budget airlines havent released all of their flights , i would wait until around Christmas to book anything. For that price wouldn't be surprised if you can get 10 days All Inclusive in Mexico for that budget.

Riviara Maya in Mexico is outstanding, the hotel we stopped at was incredible. 6 top restaurants and the public transport was great to get about as well.

Appreciate it thank you, lots of homework to do. Re.flights yes we've noticed their pricey at the moment, we've looked at a few last min holidays for this September to see price difference between then and now and it's quite a bit.

Mexico is an awesome mesmerising place so not worthy of an all inclusive and Caribbean is pricey and far if you just wanna chill, drink, beach etc. Try online agencies such as best online holidays for a deal, they work on cancellations they need to get rid of for cheap. I went to Malaga for 4 night, 4* all inclusive and return flights for £200 each in June with them. Travelzoo are also excellent.

we've done Rhodes twice at that time of year.  We stayed at the TUI Sensatori hotel which is all inclusive, but very much "out of the way"... if you aren't bothered about having things to do near by, then it's a great hotel... The Swim up Rooms are a particularly nice addition and well worth doing... Rhodes Town is about 45 minutes away and you can hire a car at the hotel for a bit of site seeing.

Going to Ibiza on Saturday. Can any one confirm if I need to fill any forms in before I travel ? Full vaccinated and have certificates printed out but do I fill anything else in before I go ?? It's a bit contradicting online!

No forms to fill in anymore, you may or may not be asked to show your vaccination certs. Enjoy your holiday!

When we went in June it was just spot checks at arrivals for vaccination certificate. Have it on you just in case, either printed or downloaded.

Any inside tips on Vegas? I know it’s mad dough when you’re there bars wise, any bars off the beaten track that are worth visiting?

Also wouldn’t mind recommendations on accommodation. I think we’ll probably end up splashing out and staying in one of the big casinos as it’s a special occasion, but keen to have options if there’s anything anyone knows of that’s typically good value.

Watch out for the daily resort charges.

They can really make a difference to the whole cost and you don’t get much for them.
I’ve stayed a Excalibur, Luxor, MGM and Circus Circus all at different ends of the strip. The resort fees are cheaper but the hotels in the middle of the strip are better quality.
I have also stayed a few blocks back from the strip and these are generally cheaper but good quality and do give you a place to escape the Vegas madness if you wanted to.

Noted, thanks! I take it those resort charges aren’t inclusive on the price you see online, and you’ll be hit with a bill when you check out? (I have seen them referenced in small print whilst looking to be fair, something like 30 USD a day).

Try Hays, usually have good packages. It's definitely not worth the time and cost to go to the Caribbean for 7 days. If you're looking to be resort based and relax, you're as well to look at Greek Islands, Turkey or Egypt is always a good option.

We managed do about a third of the road trip we planned, my new job and the lack of annual leave put paid to the rest of it so we're not complaining. Left home in Spain and drove to Lake Garda, and loved it. Then stopped in Monaco en route back to the South of France, loved that too. Beautiful scenery and even more beautiful cars, especially in the Prince of Monaco car museum. A few too many people for my liking, but that's to be expected.

St Tropez though, wouldn't bother again. Too many people again but nowhere to sit and have a drink or a meal without staring at the crowds of said people. The town we are staying in though, about 15 minutes round the coast, Port Grimaud, is absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. They call it the Venice of the French Riviera, and it's stunningly beautiful with food to match.

Correct. They will be payable at the hotel and are not normally included in the online price.

Just booked Zurich with mount pilatus in Lucerne for Easter. Don’t know too much about the place so any tips welcome. I’ve heard the Swiss flag is a big plus though 😁

I went to Vegas last week and my mate who booked the hotel (Linq- not the most fanciest but it did the job for us and the rooms were lovely.  We just used other hotels swimming pools if needed) via Booking.com had the resort charges included.   The receptionist did try to add the charges on the top as she thought they weren't included although.

The beers on other hand were really poor and I am still crying into my pillows about how much I spent on them.

Where did you stay mate?

What did you get up to whilst you were there?

I can also recommend the Linq. Smart rooms.

It’s reasonable priced and bang in the middle of the strip so the location is perfect. You’re going to walk around all the casinos so you don’t really need to stay in one of the major ones.

it obviously has its own bars and casino too.

Been Barcelona 3 times and each time they've played away :(.

Been to watch Espanyol play instead, decent stadium if they're at home when you're there.
