AspectFox Posted 11 January 2015 Author Posted 11 January 2015 It's a private entity, in that it's not publicly owned. It is the equivalent of someone's shop: the owner and his employees are under no obligation to stock certain items (give a platform for certain views) and they have the right to refuse service (remove comments/ban users) as they see fit. Don't like it, the log out button is just there, and the button to close the browser is there as well. Doc. My point was that a forum only exists as a Forum when there is a healthy variation of views and topics. Once it ceases to do that, it becomes tumbleweed and something that the wayback machine might be used for for a bit of nostalgia.
AspectFox Posted 11 January 2015 Author Posted 11 January 2015 I don't know what your thread contained because I didn't read it , but if it libelled anyone then the owner could be sued. If it offended anyone then maybe somebody complained, sometimes it's easier just to delete. Maybe it was just a crap thread. It's only the internet. Has your life suffered because your thread was removed? Is it really that important? Webbo. It could have been all of those things to someone but essentially it was a take on my experience, nothing more, nothing less. And as you said, it is only the Internet after all, it isn't real, it can't hurt me, I could divert my eyes elsewhere....Oh hang on a minute!
Rincewind Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 The mods have a difficult job. They have to assess whether a post can cause personal offense or libelous. As others have said you can always ignore a post. It is only a message board. Get a life outside it.
kingfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Moderators at times should let things go, they are so picky at times its unbelievable. Can't start a debate on here without comments getting deleted, then you get accused of instigating an argument or spoiling a thread. Forums are about debating things, and you will get fans agreeing and disagreeing with each other, that's what a forum should be about, but at times Mods are straight in deleting comments in a very harsh manner. Not on!
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 It didn't require a response from you, let alone an infantile one! Oh the irony. People like you are the most infantile on this forum. A few posts being deleted does not prove that you aren't allowed to against the grain, as evidenced by the many posters who do exactly that. Wipe your tears away and stop pretending to be some poor downtrodden soul when you clearly aren't.
davieG Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I sent this reply to member on here so i thought I'd put it in here. This forum is a privately run forum when you join you agree to abide by the rules set out by the owner, in that sense it's not democratic as the owner has both legal responsibilities and personal views on what makes the forum 'good'. Based on the popularity one can't really argue that it's not good. Having said that a lot of the responsibility for maintaining the forum has been given to moderators and administrators, people that have rarely if ever even met the owner or each other and each with a different interpretation on what is an acceptable post. So you're not going to get any degree of consistency in what is deleted, merged, warned or banned. It's not a perfect situation but the mods are all part time volunteers that's the way it is and is not going to change so people really need to accept it and move on and stop forever bleating about how unfair it is. Welcome to life. As I stated this is a privately owned forum so freedom of speech is not a right. There may have been nothing offensive in your post but the owner has the right to determine what does and what doesn't enhance/improve the forum and judging by its popularity they must be doing something right. So if they think your continual negative postings don't add anything good to the forum then they have the right to do what they want with it. It's a cliché but if you don't like how it's run then I suggest you go and start up your own then you can post what you like. I've said enough now so won't be continuing this debate as is my right. As previously posted here http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/95985-heavy-handed-censorship-on-here/
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Who on earth are these posters? Yeah this. The blue moon, aspectfox, the blue moon 2 it's all the same to me.

Rincewind Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I agree with DavieG. (Just playing the 'Don't ban me card')
Captain... Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Foxestalk, whilst being a privately operated concern, is public. To post comment you need to sign up, to read you don't. A Forum can only be described as such if it invites, opinions and views from more than standpoint, to encourage debate etc. Without that it simply becomes a mouthpiece for the common view. And to sign up you have to agree to the terms and conditions of the site. Which basically gives the moderators the right to edit modify delete and ban as they see fit, by agreeing to the ts and cs you agree to them doing so without being a whiny little bitch about it. Now if you don't want to be bound by the terms and conditions that you have already agreed to you should just go somewhere else and leave us all in peace. Finally to even begin to compare you pathetic little 'problem' to what happened in Paris makes you a cvnt of the highest order now fvck off and let me enjoy my hangover in peace.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 It didn't require a response from you, let alone an infantile one! What about his freedom of speech? #jesuispurpleronnie #jenesuispasaspectfox #ilestundickhead
