Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Honestly think that 14th is about as high as we're likely to finish. I predict that we'll finish 16th though, with Villa, Burnley, Hull and QPR below us. EDIT: In that order.
Stadt Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Tbf there really isn't much difference between finishing 12th and 17th
weller54 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Love the optimism!!!... 17th will do just fine...
Hollism Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I'm fairly confident we'll stay up, but 12th is a bit ambitious. Maybe 12th next year?
MIAMI_FOX Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 No. At best probably 15th. If we keep up our current form we'll survive with ease. February could be a massive month. I know QPR play top-half teams at home from now on but I don't know other teams' fixtures. We've got an extremely tough run. Hard to tell how it will go. Home games are key, as usual. But we have a kind run in. The last 8 games I think. 5 are at home all against lower league sides Long way to go. Let's just keep going and we are only going to get stronger with the January additions
David Hankey Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Not impossible on current form but still a long way to go and also the fact that you are relying on other teams to do poorly. Our immediate aim must be 17th and then to improve on that. Let's hope the Croatian can continue his goalscoring antics with us.
LanguedocFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I had us to finish 13th, and I still think that is possible. My mind always goes back to our first season with MON. Before the second-last game of the season, we were 16th and flirting with relegation (although the 41 points we had would have kept us up). but we won that match, against Sheffield Wednesday, and then beat Blackburn away to end up with 47 points and finish 9th. So who knows what will happen. Five of our last eight fixtures this season are eminently winnable, but I thought five of the eight fixtures after we beat Man U were winnable as well. Shows what I know. Like most City fans, I would take 17th on goal difference, although I don't see it coming to that.
shailen Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 fans should be taught not to overreact. When we were on our bad runs half of this forum had us nailed on for relegation, now we have a good three game run, still bottom and some of us think we will finish in midtable. Think the season has shown how quickly things can change and so let us not worry about predictions and take things one game at a time.

This poor Croat doesn't know what he's been saddled with!
shade Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 funnily enough I said 12th at the start of the season, was confident of 12th after 5 games and still think we'll finish 12th. so the short answer is yes.
Guest Cujek Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Lets not get carried away, whilst I always try to be optimistic, we need to try not to put to much pressure on our team, the new lad comes with a lot of expectation. Whilst he is a goal scorer, that much is certain, no one scores that many goals at any level if they dont have a talent for it, I just hope we dont get on his back to much if he dont manage to score for a couple of games. I would snap someones hand for 17th right now, with Vile going down to sweeten the pot. Yes we could finish 12th, we have the quality and spirit to do so, but lets enjoy (hopefully) every game as it comes, lets enjoy watching our boys play against some of the best players in the world. Long may it continue.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Yes - if we go on a run it's not beyond this team. However, let's just focus on 17th as others are saying
talking_goldfish Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Funny you should say that...According to my form table (below) we are currently on to finish 12th with 41 points (imagine that!) Although that does assume we get 1.4 points for each game for the rest of the season which I'm not sure is entirely possible, and it also has Everton to finish bottom!! FWIW, I think we'll finish 16th, but that's assuming a decent run in of results. QPR could be a nightmare game!
Andy King Power Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 If anyone's wondering why 12th, it's because 12th place Everton are only 5 points away. Yeah, 3 points to 17th, and 5 points to 12th. That is a shallow pool alright. Hit form in the right time, and you can fly from the bottom, to mid table respectability. Possible if we're 6 points better than those around us. (Hey, if Aston Villa can do it for the first half of season, anything's possible.) First goal though: 17th.
kingcarr21 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 We most certainly wont finish 12th. You're living in dreamland Its obvious we will finish 11th
justfoxes Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I've always said we have the capability of competing in this league and always said we will finish no lower than 15th Champions will be just beating CHELSKI to the top spot Man City & my 3 for the drop are QPR VILEVILLA HULL
