StanSP Posted 27 February 2015 Share Posted 27 February 2015 ABDV is insane. Didn't realise he only came in just as the 30th over ended. Absolutely incredible knock from him. He meant business today! I get the feeling they would have been extra psyched up for this after the low score against India.
ealingfox Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 Imagine if England could make Johnson look as much a mug as the Kiwis have here. Absolute shite. NZ really could win the whole thing.
Guest MattP Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 What a match between the Aussies and Kiwis..... Kane Williamson again doing the business.
Corky Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 Watched the first 3 overs and thought the Aussies would smack over 350. Kiwis doing very well so far.
Swarles Barkley Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 Good start from the openers, especially bell but seem to have lost the momentum with the loss of the two wickets Ballance fails again. HAS to be dropped for hales now. No way a one day player
Corky Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 Ballance has to go, bizarre selection in the first place and hardly scoring now. When Bell is in form he's a class player to watch.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 28 February 2015 Share Posted 28 February 2015 Not too bad a start. Just need to go about 5 an over ish for 20 overs then pile on the runs.
chrishlcfc Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 We have reverted to type and gone full on block mode against Sri Lanka's part time bowlers. Need to push on and get 300+ which is still more than gettable with the batting power play and fielding restrictions later in the innings.
IOWFOX Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Joe Root playing a blinder, that reverse 6 was a thing of beauty. 25 off the 45th over, could more of them would do nicely.
Captain... Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 I hate watching Malinga, he isn't a bowler I can't wait for him to retire.
Swarles Barkley Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Lakmal you dirty cvnt. The rule couldve benefited sri lanka but luckily buttler got 6. The rule needs changing IMO. Has no excuse for bowling two quite dangerous deliveries Didnt apoligise either the fvcker
leicsmac Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 How he convinced people his action is legit I have no idea. Don't like him either. Anyhow, this is a good total. Even in this day and age, if you can't defend 300+ either the opposition batsmen have had a blinder our you've bowled really poorly. We should be able to defend this. ealingfox Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 If Finn turns up we'll win this. Ballance can suck a dick and fvck off, absolute muck. Let's not pretend another sub-30 score isn't another failure for Morgan as well, the potato-eating twat.
Aus Fox Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Great to finally see England get 300+ runs. This is big for the likes of Finn and Broad, don't let them get into the game. An early couple of wickets and heads will go down. Come on England.

Potato eater, really? Have we gone back 50 years? Do agree Ballance shouldn't be anywhere near the side though, and Morgan is hardly convincing right now either. Wasn't alive 50 years ago so I can't confirm unfortunately. As the pundits said several times, 300 really isn't a special total anymore, it's barely a good total. Especially on a flat deck in the blazing sunshine against an incredibly average bowling attack. We will lose this comfortably.

Hahaha, that's fair enough. :-) I reckon 300 is just about above par on this kind of surface (in the last few years I would say more sides have failed to chase 300+ than have succeeded), but given our start it should have been more. Don't agree with losing this comfortably - they're not going to knock these off in 40 overs for instance. They might make it with wickets in hand and a couple of overs to spare though. I hope your view and my conjecture is wrong, though.

I hope I'm wrong too, and I felt confident before the SL innings started, but an absolute howler in the slips and Stuart Broad being given the ball put paid to that. They'll knock off the runs with at least 5 overs to spare. Jesus, Broad is absolutely shit.

Guest MattP Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Sorry but Morgan can **** off. I've never seen such a defensive feeble captain. A village team would have knocked that off. Wickets win matches. His bowlers must hate him.

leicsmac Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Get creamed by the other Test sides, eke out wins against the Associate sides, then get thumped in the quarter final against whoever topped the other group. Yep, this World Cup has about gone to plan.
Finnegan Posted 1 March 2015 Share Posted 1 March 2015 Genuinely not taking the piss despite the timing of my asking but how big is the world cup considered to cricket fans, particularly in England where the test game is traditionally favoured? Like obviously, it's the pinnacle of the sport in football and rugby. In cricket, would you rather be the world number one test side for a few years or win a world cup? Would you rather win the ashes a few years running or even once or win a world cup?

It's embarrassing when it's like this and the world is watching though, which they are in a World Cup.
