Posted 23 February 2015 Share Posted 23 February 2015 Too many test players in this side, Taylor is showing how good he is in limited overs because whilst the test team were playing a 5 test series this summer he was smashing them around the park in limited overs matches. Balance, Bell, Root, are all test batsman, they are all capable in 50 overs but having all three in the side is just wrong. Same with the bowling attack, Anderson and Broad are great test bowlers, but they don't play enough limited overs cricket to get the variations and react to the batsman's movement before they release the ball. I really don't know what has happened to Morgan either. Unless he comes good this tournament I think we need to bin him off and make Taylor captain someone who is a limited overs specialist who plays with the best limited overs players in the country on a regular basis and stop just picking the test players on central contracts. leicsmac Posted 23 February 2015 Share Posted 23 February 2015 Reasonably routine win in the end - regardless of the supposed ineptitude of the batsmen 300+ was always going to be enough against a team like Scotland.
