purpleronnie Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Been a great Cricket match, love test matches, Not sure many (including me) thought we had a chance after their first innings.
marko Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Looked like it was missing, but they should - and normally do - check for every possibility. Edit: Should definitely have been checked under Appendix 2 DRS Playing Conditions. 3.3. f) The third umpire shall not withhold any factual information which may help in the decision making process, even if the information is not directly prompted by the on-field umpire’s questions. In particular, in reviewing a dismissal, if the third umpire believes that the batsman may instead be out by any other mode of dismissal, he shall advise the on-field umpire accordingly. The process of consultation described in this paragraph in respect of such other mode of dismissal shall then be conducted as if the batsman has been given not out.
Super_horns Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 It may be frustrating watching England but its entraining at times! Never quite know what is going to happen.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 What a win! Great effort and what a fantastic test match!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Will the much maligned county game which always gets the blame when England lose get some praise when England win? I won't hold my breath.
Corky Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Enthralling Test match, played in a fantastic sporting spirit too.
Guest ttfn Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Enthralling Test match, played in a fantastic sporting spirit too. Can't imagine we'll be seeing too much of that later in the summer.
Voll Blau Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Once they were five down I stopped listening and checking the score so I could watch it as if live on Channel 5 now. Glad I did, great work. Once again proves why Test cricket will always be the ultimate form of the game.
Captain... Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Great day of cricket good job Anderson and Wood had a chance to swing wildly at the ball for a few overs. Good win and a promising side, but still a lack of killer instinct at times.
notnow john Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Trevor Baylis appointed England cricket coach. Is this a wind up?
Narborough_fox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Bayliss seems like a good apppointment to me, if he settles into England quickly. He's already worked with Farbrace as well which could well be one of the reasons he was appointed as well. Proven track record in the short format of the game, won the IPL twice, won the T20 Champions League and took Sri Lanka to the World Cup final in 2011. Also won the Sheffield Shield twice with New South Wales, think a lot of people will be disappointed as it isn't Gillespie but Bayliss has a proven track record and could be the experience that England need.
Captain... Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Trevor Baylis appointed England cricket coach. Is this a wind up? Is this a clockwork radio joke? If so well done, if not then
notnow john Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Is this a clockwork radio joke? If so well done, if not then You're not a real captain, are you?
Captain... Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 You're not a real captain, are you? I'm captain of my own ship, it has pancakes for sails and is consists mainly of shrapnel. Seriously though was that a clockwork radio joke or are you disappointed in the appointment?
notnow john Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 I'm captain of my own ship, it has pancakes for sails and is consists mainly of shrapnel. Seriously though was that a clockwork radio joke or are you disappointed in the appointment? I was supposed to be a joke but if you have to ask I need to work on my delivery! (Cricket pun).
Captain... Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 I was supposed to be a joke but if you have to ask I need to work on my delivery! (Cricket pun). Glad you clarified now I can plus one it. Perhaps you could have prefaced it with I heard about this on the wireless, I thought it was a wind up... For the joke to work it does require the reader to know a rather obscure fact.
Voll Blau Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Had hoped England would bat first so we'd get to see it tomorrow. Ah well, every credit to him. Great achievement. Anyone else heading up to Leeds this Test?
StanSP Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Why is this only a 2-test series? Why do they even exist? I'd rather there were more tests than ODIs to watch.
Voll Blau Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Why is this only a 2-test series? Why do they even exist? I'd rather there were more tests than ODIs to watch. Because the ICC (BCCI) hate Test cricket, and assume everyone else does by extension.
marko Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Absolutely brainless shot by McCullum first ball after tea.
StanSP Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 England just dropped 3 catches in the space of 2 overs. At least 2 of them were simple.
