Guest Bilo Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Five players standing around and off Bojan when he hit that. Absolutely criminal to give anybody that amount of time and space in that kind of position; we created little but Stoke we hardly great. We desperately NEED a new left back as well as a new centre back. I've always liked Dean Hammond but I never thought I'd yearn for him to be starting games for us like I do currently. All in all a frustrating day with a bizarre team selection in one of the more "winnable" ties left, the lack of urgency we showed after the goal was staggering. One of the very few positives to come from the game was that Kramaric looked relatively sharp, more so considering the bloke hasn't properly trained for the best part of three weeks. On to next week. Pretty much sums it up. I'd honestly start Hammond and Cambiasso next time out to give us a bit of solidity in the middle. When you're being outplayed by a Stoke side giving it the ole football, you know your midfield needs changing. It was the kind of team selection that's spot on for the Championship, but well off the pace at this level. Also, Kramaric needs to start next week.
AKCJ Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 It baffles me why you'd leave 18m and the winger who'd just put two MOTM performances on the bounce on the bench in the biggest game of the season. Like johnny the fox says, those decisions get managers sacked. I hope they don't sake Nigel but he's pushing it fine when he does that. Plus it's not like he's tried to be clever with his tactics. He's just being ****ing arrogant.
tickler28 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Somebody please give me back the last two hours of my life. That was so unbearable. Horrible game, the lack of depth in midfield clearly showed. We started out well and fresh, running Stoke ragged. Then we just let it slide. I can't see how anyone can claim we deserved something out of this game. Lack of quality, lack of dedication, no proper build-up play, aimless hoofing, little back-tracking, general carelessness and confusion. I'm looking at the upcoming fixtures and suddenly, I don't feel so well. Do you think the correct starting 11 was selected?
Jakemoore Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Weird game. First half was very even. We probably had the best chance of the half which Knockeart should have scored. But no complaints from me seeing it 0-0 at half time. However, that second half was quite possibly the worst we have played all season. We didn't create any chances of note, we couldn't hold on to the ball. We lacked creativity. At the end of the day though, we have been on a good run and that was going to end at some point. Hopefully we can do the unthinkable and get a win over United in 2 weeks time. But I dont hold much hope.
maynefox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 I don't mind us losing, but that was a pitiful sh|te performance. We never wanted to win today's game. No urgency, nothing. Poor tactics from Nigel: a midfield that got overrun and no aerial threat from the off. I am so annoyed at this. This was a winnable game but we didn't want to win it. No desire. Lacklustre
Blanesta Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 We just didn't have any cutting edge, I think the biggest disappointment for me was we didn't even look like getting an equaliser, let alone a winner. We need to at least have a go.
Richmondfox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Drinkwater was shocking, giving away the ball, not winning tackles or bossing the midfield. Why did he ask for the ball from Knocky that he ran on for the one-two if all he does is kills the ball and passes back. Why does our midfield give the opposition way too much time to run and then rely on the defence to sort it out. Konch made a couple of good challenges but it's painful to watch the constant balls trying to loft the defenders. Has one of them ever lifted over the man for our player to run onto? I like the look of Kramaric. Knock played well but he needs De Laet to overlap with him. Good save by Hamer, kicking better then tailed off at the end to shocking.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Jesus wept. We didn't make them look like Barcelona at all - it was a terrible game between two fair-to-shit sides on the day in which one moment of sloppiness cost us. Was going to say. Bojan aside, they looked average.
whoareyaaa Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 We played poor today they deserved the 3 points. way to many balls straight into there keepers hands, wasteful. You could tell Kram will come good just from the 20 minute cameo was never going to score as we was creating nothing.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Lost it in the midfield today. Nugent and Vardy never to start up front again. Lawrence coming on WTF Morgan running away from a loose ball WTF
Ozwin Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Lost it in the midfield. Don't half notice when Hammond isn't there mopping up.
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Starting Nugent and Vardy was an error. Why a team bottom of the table leaves £18m worth of strikers on the bench is a bit of a mystery. We need Cambiasso back to shore up the midfield. We gave up when Bojan scored and made it easy for them. Not good, huge improvements needed. On the plus side, Kramaric looks good. Decent positioning, nice touch and quick. Don't worry, we will soon sap that out of him
Guest glasgowfox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Yer... One game we HAD to win!!.. Get real. what a plonker......you should get real.....every game is one we had to win....hull we had to win....villa we had to win....I am just as gutted about the result and more so the performance as anyone...but seems some people enjoy coming on here more when we lose....as I said ...
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 S'alright, we'll win at United and everything will be forgotten
AKCJ Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Jesus wept. We didn't make them look like Barcelona at all - it was a terrible game between two fair-to-shit sides on the day in which one moment of sloppiness cost us. They passed it around for fun in the second half. We didn't show nearly enough energy or desire to want to dictate the game. From the moment we kicked off we tried to play this shitty counter attacking tactic where we just surrender possession and then hit it up to Vardy and hope we can do something. Not even nearly good enough.
Bettsj2 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Stupid to start with the strike force we did, stupid subs, not sure what the gameplan was and in 90 minutes, all the optimism of the last month has evaporated. Ulloa and Kramaric should be our strike pairing with Nuge and Vards the impact subs. It was unfair of NP to throw Laurence on in that situation too. Albrighton would have been perfect. Ah well. Fvck it.
Tuna Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Is it beyond the realms of possibility to expect the manager to pick his best team? To address the obvious weaknesses in his squad? Crying out for a new LB and he does NOTHING, no players even linked. Albrighton 8/10 the last 2 games and left on the bench? Persisting with strikers who have scored 2 from open play in about 20 games? Nearly £20 million of strikers on the bench? Clueless.
AKCJ Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Was going to say. Bojan aside, they looked average. Precisely. They looked like an average Premier League team. But we looked like an average League Two team. Just appalling.
Thefoxman Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Piss poor performance!! no desire at all! midfield a complete joke and don't get me started on the subs....kramaric looks very decent and that's the only highlight
Dynamogoon Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Jeering our own keeper. Well done. Proves we are the worst fans in the country. Ashamed to be associated with you. Hopefully you won't turn up next season
MooseBreath Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 A massive blow to our survival chances. We needed to build on our recent form to take into a very tough run of games, instead we turned out one of the most insipid performances I've seen from a Pearson side, who should be absolutely furious. After they scored our heads dropped and our defence and midfield just collapsed, so so weak and fragile, and if that sets the standard for the next few games we may not pick up another point until March. We need a miracle now.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Hamer's kicking was a positive. Except for that horrendous one in the first half that hardly made it out of the 18 yard box? Unless you were being sarcastic, in which case I apologise
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 They passed it around for fun in the second half. We didn't show nearly enough energy or desire to want to dictate the game. From the moment we kicked off we tried to play this shitty counter attacking tactic where we just surrender possession and then hit it up to Vardy and hope we can do something. Not even nearly good enough. I'll concede that we were poor but to say we made Stoke look like Barcelona is way off - bar the goal and N'Zonzi's effort they didn't create anything to get worried about.
MHC Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 We are down lads, accept it. If we can't score we can't win and if we can't beat Stoke we can't stay up. That's the perspective of a realist not an optimist.
