cjslcfc Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 No complaints. Beaten by the better side on the day. Shame because we could have got a hell of a lot closer to safety. The run of games we have now is pretty atrocious!
Kitchandro Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 the worst thing for me today was the noise from the fans! Well it's going to be quiet when the players don't put a shift in.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Shocking result. Even I expected three points! From what I have read, both the players and the manager had a dreadful day at the office. I just hope we don't drift backwards again over the next few weeks, or we will, be stuffed.

The Guvnor Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 For me two weak links in midfield, King and Drinkwater, which meant we were unable to control the game. King probably has decent stats for keeping possession that's because he invariably passes sideways or backwards, he also lacks the strength to cope with a big team. Drinkwater looked and played like he had been out on the piss last night. Schlupp did ok was one of the few players who matched their physicality, Knocky played very well last week and did ok today. Vardy has lightning pace but I feel he still needs a lot of development. Hamer's reaction save was world class, Kramaric looked lively for his cameo.
Buzzell Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Second half performance was dreadful. Hamer's distribution was dreadful. Referee was dreaded. Overall the game was, well, dreadful.
RoboFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 I'm getting very tired of the way Nigel, Stringer and others keep banging on about "fine margins." From where I was sitting today, the margins look a little bigger than that. It's quickly becoming a euphemism for "we didn't have enough quality."
MHC Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Until it's mathematically not possible to stay up is when I will accept it. We still have a transfer window to sign hopefully abit of quality in CM and LB and we still have about 18 games to go. I'm sorry mate but the season still has plenty twists and turns, a more spirited performance next week and a hopefully 3 points against Man Utd and everyone will be sucking Pearson off again and telling everyone to 'keep the faith' Next week is a meaningless cup match and we have absolutely zero chance of getting anything from the Man United game or in fact any of the three or four that follow that one as they are against top opposition (bar the Crystal Palace game). I am normally an optimist but after THAT performance I decided to look at things from a different perspective and that is what I came up with. My heart says we will turn it around but my head says we will be too far adrift after the next five games and as good as relegated.
GingerrrFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Our centre backs are not comfortable enough on the ball, neither are our full backs. They never look to play football and it's always take a touch and play it long. Pitiful. King and Drinkwater have terrible vision, there was countless times today where they needed to switch the play to the opposite wing rather than trying to force it in a congested space. Not good enough at all.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Very disappointing, very lightweight in midfield. No creativity today. Hopefully we put on a good show in the cup and get a bit of confidence back.
MrSpaM Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Tom Lawerence substitution was baffling, he's nowhere near good enough to be playing in the premiership
The Doctor Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Wish people will stop all the "Barely fit kramaric" crap... Do you really think he's been sat on the sofa and not trained with us on his own or with the squad? Every manager defends a new signing with the fitness rubbish. He should have started today and let him grow into the game with all the fans behind him when we were vocal, Not when we desperately need a goal, have lost all confidence, are supplying absolutely nothing and the crowd are silent... Vardy as impact sub when the "Unfit" kramaric tires... Albrighton on with ulloa partnering. Training and playing are two different things though - he's not played in a fortnight, he's bound to be a little bit rusty.
ARMADA Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 well **** it. i now have another team besides rijeka that can piss me off... you needed to win this, your midfield was just not good enough... didn't create any chances for the strikers... kramaric looked good for me, i think he should start your next games, there was one situation where there was maybe a penalty on him?
Mike Oxlong Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Lightweight, lacking courage and quality. Working hard on the training ground just won't be enough.
ScouseFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 sounds like we were crap. line through it and onto the cup, mind off this scrap for a week.
lgfualol Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 well **** it. i now have another team besides rijeka that can piss me off... you needed to win this, your midfield was just not good enough... didn't create any chances for the strikers... kramaric looked good for me, i think he should start your next games, there was one situation where there was maybe a penalty on him? Any decent left backs or centre mids at Rijeka?
Number 6 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 We're far to easy to beat. Teams really don't have to do anything special.
MHC Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 A realist wouldn't throw in the towel this early. All other teams immediately above us lost and the case can still be won. However, the longer we're playing without a proper established starting XI (be it down to injuries, suspensions or new arrivals), the more nervous fans become. But perspective there still is. 16 games to go. Operation Survival starts here. I haven't thrown the towel in. I'm just being realistic and who can argue with my points. If we can't score we can't win and if we can't beat teams around us like Stoke at home every time we play them we won't stay up. It's no good beating Aston Villa one week if we lose against Stoke the week after. We should put teams like that to the sword everytime and we don't.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Typical of NP to fvck up tactically today Poor to lose at home to that lot Never mind upwards and onwards still time to climb the table I really don't think it was Pearson's fault today. I do think that poor tactics have cost us points this season, notably against Palace, Newcastle, Burnley and West Brom, but today, with 2 fit central midfielders, there wasn't a great deal of choice for him. I have to confess that I was surprised Albrighton was dropped and Vardy started though. I thought the players let him down today. Once they cross the white line, the players have to take responsibility for their actions in and out of possession. We can talk about formations but with only 2 got central midfielders what choice did we have? Pearson's not telling Knockaert and Drinkwater to chip set pieces into Begovic's arms. He's not telling Wasilewski to pass the ball out of play when he's two yards away from a team mate. He's not telling the defence to run away from Bojan. He's not telling Konchesky to let Arnautovic in behind him. He's not telling Ulloa to mince about up front. He's not telling Lawrence to put in a pathetic cameo from the bench. He's not telling Hamer to boot the ball straight out of play every time he gets it. He's not telling Nugent to be as ineffective as possible and he's not telling Vardy to trap it further than I can kick it. Players let him down today, big time.
NewquayFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Very weak/poor midfield today, Albrighton should have started as should Ulloa, Wes wasn't his usual self and both full backs gave the ball away and panicked against a pretty average Stoke side....
I blame Wellens Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 God bless Knocky today. The only one that put a shift it. Konchesky well what can I say it's all been said before. Why Nigel, why o why do you play him.
Babylon Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Missed the strength of James and Hammond. CM was crying out for a bit of presence. Shit game, two poor teams.
EGBFitness Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Next week is a meaningless cup match and we have absolutely zero chance of getting anything from the Man United game or in fact any of the three or four that follow that one as they are against top opposition (bar the Crystal Palace game). My heart says we will turn it around but my head says we will be too far adrift after the next five games and as good as relegated. I know what you mean, today's performance was disappointing but we're not down and out yet. There is still time to get some new recruits in too to hopefully give us all hope, the Thais are obviously willing to back the team with cash, hopefully Nige is smart enough to recruit in the positions we all know we're weak. City are notorious to turn heads and show up against bigger teams, look at this season and previous seasons. The run were got is equivalent to the run we had at the start of the season were everyone expected us to come away bottom of the league with no points. We have some big 6 pointers against teams around us and if we can come away with 5 points from the next 5/6 games there's still plenty of hope of survival
