Any decent left backs or centre mids at Rijeka?

yes but we can't sell you the whole team :) we'll play Europa league against next year...

there is one midfielder from Rijeka that's gone AWOL since last week. he just spoke to our manager after training that he wants to move away and has gone missing ever since... incredible... he now will face a maximum fine from the club and sit on the reserves bench for the next 2,5 years... but if you make a good offer we could work something out.. :)

we have one good LB, we got an offer last month for him from Dnipro for 1.5M but we rejected it...

He's not telling Ulloa to mince about up front.

this would be a great conversation to hear tbf

Training and playing are two different things though - he's not played in a fortnight, he's bound to be a little bit rusty.

A little bit rusty would even be an over exaggeration IMO... It's exactly the same after the international breaks, 2 weeks off keeping yourself fit shouldn't be an excuse for anyone

also did we miss matty james as much as we were obviously going to after he went and got himself a 3 game ban?

I'm afraid that's why we're going down.

Last week we put in a very committed and positive performance and should have won by more. This week was a powderpuff attempt, and that is the Leicester we see far too often. We're just too inconsistent; a match for anyone on our day, but not the commitment or desire to get results when we really need them. Today was pathetic. Stoke wanted it more than us. That is unacceptable. We just didn't turn up.

We keep letting matches pass us by. Almost all of our losses have one thing in common - how we start the match. After 20 minutes I knew we were in trouble today. There was no tempo, no purpose, no drive and no ideas. Pearson is a slow learner; we set out to play long balls to short players and slowed the game down when in possession whenever possible. This will inevitably lead to us surrendering momentum and losing the match.

As much as Ulloa is a limited player in terms of his pace and agility, he's the only fvcker who's scored goals for us this season. Leaving him on the bench was a very poor move. Albrighton also didn't feature despite a MOTM performance (or close to) last weak. Another criminal decision.

The central midfield missed the bite and quality of James, but that doesn't excuse half hearted displays from King & Drinkwater.

Somebody said something interesting (in the loosest sense) on Radio Leicester on the way back. Pearson claimed earlier in the season that we were better than Burnley in every department. The caller said the table doesn't lie. He said Burnley did not add to their squad and neither did we, but their 4th bottom. He then contradicted himself by saying we need a midfielder and a defender.

Now, I'm fully for strengthening the squad, but as I've been saying for months now, what is the excuse for Burnley being ahead of us? Cos it isn't recruitment. Pearson said we were better than Burnley in every department. We are, on paper. Which leads to only one answer - the application is not there. If we go down, which looks likely, it will be because we haven't done ourselves justice in too many matches. Right now, as sickening as it sounds, Dyche looks a better manager than Pearson. He's getting more out of a poorer squad.

You've got to hand it to Burnley, they just want it more.

I really don't think it was Pearson's fault today. I do think that poor tactics have cost us points this season, notably against Palace, Newcastle, Burnley and West Brom, but today, with 2 fit central midfielders, there wasn't a great deal of choice for him. I have to confess that I was surprised Albrighton was dropped and Vardy started though.

I thought the players let him down today. Once they cross the white line, the players have to take responsibility for their actions in and out of possession. We can talk about formations but with only 2 got central midfielders what choice did we have?

Pearson's not telling Knockaert and Drinkwater to chip set pieces into Begovic's arms. He's not telling Wasilewski to pass the ball out of play when he's two yards away from a team mate. He's not telling the defence to run away from Bojan. He's not telling Konchesky to let Arnautovic in behind him. He's not telling Ulloa to mince about up front. He's not telling Lawrence to put in a pathetic cameo from the bench. He's not telling Hamer to boot the ball straight out of play every time he gets it. He's not telling Nugent to be as ineffective as possible and he's not telling Vardy to trap it further than I can kick it.

Players let him down today, big time.

IMO playing 4-4-2 against a better squad who are set up more attacking is a crime against tactics.

We never got any space, were out positioned in every scenario..

Just the tactic alone was the reason for losing, As soon  as I saw 4-4-2 I cashed my bet out for a small loss.

A good first half but some players were absent today, I can rarely remember hearing about or seeing King (is that just me?). Also a lack of consistency from Drinkwater and others to be fair I saw today, together with losing the ball at critical moments of build up play which in turn was partly caused by a lack of movement. Lastly I think it comes down to a weird player selection and formation, I've got to wonder why we didn't 1-5-4 to control more of the midfield (cos all credit to Stoke, they are a strong side and don't lack experience). Much more could have been done is my point, Ulloa on the bench?! Albrighton as well... Hey, whaddyado...

Well by that logic he will be even rustier next week then with a short run out today and training next week.

didn't we play "442" at liverpool? and hull? and against villa?

Very disappointed after that, first half I thought we played alright we created a few chances here and there, and at times looked dangerous. Schlupp was a constant threat first half, King & Drinkwater were passing the ball well enough then come second half everything completely flipped.

Second half Drinkwater & King got absolutely dominated, Schlupp hardly touched the ball, Nugent was running round like a headless chicken & yet again poor defending cost us. Konchesky got turned too easily for their goal, Morgan was there covering him yet he also got turned, then Was left too much space for Bojan to get his shot off. Have to say as well Danny Simpson was bloody awful, Moses had his pants down all game, Simpson lacked positional sense, kept backing off, kept lumping it up the field and lacked any sort of pace. Knockaert yet again had to bail Konchesky out at times but due to this, we don't get to see what Knockaert can do in an attacking sense, because he is helping out Konchesky all the time. Finally credit to Hamer he pulled off a World Class save, but his kicking is worse than Carl Ikeme's.

Toothless performance, no aggression whatsoever especially second half.

We missed De Laet's pace, we missed Hammond & he should of started Ulloa. As for bringing on Lawrence instead of Albrighton  :nono:

Hmmmm. Obviously a disappointing result and performance. But team selection played a large part - by that I mean enforced and NP choices. Had we been able to call upon Mahrez, Hammond & James, combined with starting Ulloa ahead of Vardy. No wonder we failed to get a foothold(?)!

For me two weak links in midfield, King and Drinkwater, which meant we were unable to control the game. King probably has decent stats for keeping possession that's because he invariably passes sideways or backwards, he also lacks the strength to cope with a big team. Drinkwater looked and played like he had been out on the piss last night. Schlupp did ok was one of the few players who matched their physicality, Knocky played very well last week and did ok today.

Vardy has lightning pace but I feel he still needs a lot of development.

Hamer's reaction save was world class, Kramaric looked lively for his cameo.

This absolutely. We lost this game last week when James got sent off or when Hammond's calf went.

You can't play King and Drinkwater together but we had no other options. This team needs either Hammond or James to get stuck in and win the ball back and at least draw if not win the midfield battle. It doesn't matter who plays up front if we can't have reasonable possession in midfield to create. We look best with Hammond or James and Cambiasso.

It seems we set up with pace the key tactic today probably because it was deemed the best way to unlock Stoke with them lacking pace at the back and because we felt we were never going to beat stoke aerially by playing Ulloa. I think something isn't quite right with Albrighton. Whether it's on a personal level or he doesn't fit in, who knows but it seems we are reluctant to play him unless we have to.

We can't challenge team selection as we don't know the facts and Pearson will keep any issues under wraps to either protect players or not show weakness to other teams.

on a positive note, the lads have had a bad day today, a really bad day, yet 2 seconds in the game and we could still have snatched it. Had Knockaert put his chance away and had we got a foot in to prevent the goal, we could have won. Papers over the cracks but this is the reality and this, despite playing awful. Fine margins! We need Hammond to get fit until James is available

What formation would you suggest with only 2 CMs available?

The most worrying thing is, after Man Utd where we'd had a really good run of results and optimism was high, we played a team we really should have got something from. First half of that game we were ok but then they scored and NP started fvcking around with everything leaving us with no wins forever.

Unfortunately it seems like the exact thing happening again. Absolutely bizarre decisions again and i'm in fear that he's going to go backwards again.

We didnt against hull and villa, But they were playing more of a 4-2-2-2 The wingers staying forward.

It's blatantly obvious that against Liverpool and hull we were just as strong in the centre, Not against stoke though... and if our "wingers" were given the instruction to attack they done a woeful job of it, I suspect Pearson told them not to be as adventurous today.. and the whole tactic cost us..

The worrying thing about the whole scenario, is that even though bringing on ulloa and kramaric alone changed the entire style of the team, he didn't bother to change the formation and we just carried on creating nothing.

A real lack of common sense today from Nigel, and bar our recent turnaround, It's been a consistency for a few seasons, thankfully you can get away with it in the championship normally...

well **** it. i now have another team besides rijeka that can piss me off... you needed to win this, your midfield was just not good enough... didn't create any chances for the strikers... kramaric looked good for me, i think he should start your next games, there was one situation where there was maybe a penalty on him?

Penalties? Leicester? lol

In fairness Wasyl should have been off imo
