lestuhfox Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Who was there v Shrewsbury in 1983? Our lowest ever attendance 6155. Night game. We didn't know that night what was to follow that season. I was there in the Double Decker. My mate hung a SHIPMAN OUT banner over the front of the decker.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Possibly one of the most random threads ever?

deejdeej Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 I thought this was going to be some masterful formation idea for Nige to keep us up... (leaves thread)
Mark_w Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 I bet it was a nicer experience than Leicester vs. Shrewsbury 2014.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Maybe it shows how far we've come and it's not all so doom and gloom despite things being a bit tough at the minute?
sylofox Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 How can you be -7 ? ;0) Hello 7 years before birth maybe? lol
lestuhfox Posted 12 February 2015 Author Posted 12 February 2015 Well, we won the game 3-2. We had lost 2-0 at Grimsby the previous Saturday. This was pre play offs days and the top 3 went up automatically. Wolves , QPR and Fulham had raced ahead and looked to have promotion sewn up. This was the start of a run that saw us pip Fulham for 3rd. 29000 turned up for the final game v Burnley at home. Im pretty sure a black cat got in the ground that night and was running up and down the cinder track in front of the main stand enclosure. After years and years of following the City all over the country it appears Im no longer a true fan because Ive not joined the Pearson love in. Long before Pearson, Long after Pearson, Leicester till I die.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 I never knew that Harold shipman managed us?

Corky Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Apparently the players clapped the fans individually after the match.

But I do agree some of our failings this season are down to him and will not defend him on that. It's the he is shite type comments that rub me up or I do not like him. There is no reason for the abuse some show him he's been great for us and if this is a step to far so be it. That does not make him a w4nker or a useless manager. I have no complaint with fans that have respect for what he has done for us but are pissed at what is going on. Pure abuse to the man I will not accept four seasons of joy one of despair just cut him some slack and show a little respect.
john ridley Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Things had hit rock bottom that night , never thought we'd go up that season . Just shows how a season can change around, but I think this season a change is a bit of an ask ,can only hope though.
pleatout Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Was at every game that season pen 2 n proud. What is your point? Are you sure? I was in Pen 4, so couldn't see. But I seem to recall on rare forays as far as pen 3, that pen 2 was only used for "big" games back then. I remember it was freezing that night. We all had a barrier each in pen 4.
Leicester_Numan Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Infact I do not remember being at a game when we did not want shipman out. ? This x 8 more years
Narborough_fox Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 I was -7. I remember it well. I was -14!
old leicester Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Remember the night very well. Start of the great run. Eight weeks later we took around 10,000 to Fulham.
