Footballwipe Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 The only thing I'm worried about now is the sapped confidence of the players who will be with us for our Championship season next year. Losing pretty much every game from here until the end of the season will destroy some of the belief they have. Hopefully, hopefully, we'll maybe scrape a draw. Winning isn't even on the table as an option Sunday. I hesitate to say the next point I can see us getting will be at home to Hull in March but we know how well we've done against teams around us at home this season, we'll probably mess that up too. Hammond has to be in the team. Let James do what he does. Cambiasso can be great but Hollywood isn't always what you need when you're scrapping away, which is what Sunday will be.

Hoping we can get a result here - supporting Leicester City is definitely a rollercoaster of emotions and we're due another high ... of course we'll then lose some of the games we expect to get something out of and sink straight back down again ... I'm always the optimist - but must admit even I am nervous about our survival now. Funnily enough though I wonder if as well as the results against teams around us - if managing to get something against Man City might help us out a lot. Even a draw ... Tall ask I know - but if Chelsea have already won by the time they play us towards the end of the season and they are still in Europe - its possible they might play a much weakened team against us (which we will still probably lose ...) ok optimism fading even more.
Karljohn Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Anyone going to this deserves a medal. Of course hes going to play Shitezer in goal, Simpson, Captain Morgan and leave Wasyl, Albrighton and pace on the bench. He'll probably drop Kramaric aswell, the loopy twat.

Going of course as always. A proper gluten for punishment. Surely he can't keep his bum boy Schwarzer in again!!!!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 I don't really give a toss what team he plays. No doubt it will have Morgan and Cambiasso in, probably Schwarzer too. Albrighton will probably be on the bench. It's boring, it's predictable and it's gone on for too long. If some players aren't binned after yesterday they literally never will be. Can't see past an Everton win.
boosmanana Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 GK: Hamer RCB: Wasyl CB: Huth LCB: Upson RWB: De Laet LWB: Schlupp RCM: James CDM: Hammond LCM: Cambiasso CAM: Mahrez ST: Kramaric
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Hamer DeLaet Wasilewski Huth Upson Schlupp Cambiasso James Mahrez Kramaric Albrighton I was thinking along the 5 at the back lines (same personnel as you) but ended up woefully short in midfield, with playing 3 centre halves I would expect the full backs to get forward and provide the crosses, so even though I wanted both Albrighton and Mahrez in the team I couldn't squeeze them in. Hamer De Laet Schlupp Was Huth Upson Hammond Cambiasso James Ulloa Kram
WardyisPukka Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Anyone picking Konchesky and Simpson needs their head checking - they'll get torn apart by Lennon/Mirallas as they have limited pace and positional awareness Would risk playing Schlupp and DeLaet as our fullbacks (even though his positional sense is feckin awful) time to drop 3 CB's and drop morgan for Huth Hamer Delaet Huth Was Schlupp Hammond Cambiasso James Mahrez Kram Ulloa
Guest Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Considering we are 5 pts from safety and this is our only Prem game apart from Man City before the 14/03 it has taken on monstrous proportions. I feel we need an upset 3 points in order to stay mentally in contact with survival.
Wortho Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 I don't like the idea of playing 3 centre backs. It is too negative and I would play Huth and Was as centre backs.
lee7 Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Hamer Huth----Upson----Was De Laet ------------------------ Jeff Cambiasso- ----James Mahrez------ -----------------Albrighton Kramaric Please lets just try and play positive football for ****ing once. This team for me. If he persists with sticking with Schwarzer then I will be astonished.
Fox Ulike Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Surely we will have to go back to 442? (I can’t actually believe I’m saying this!) 442 is suicidal, but it’s also equally self-defeating to put either Kramaric or Ulloa on the bench in order to go with the mind-bendingly obvious 451. Any way you look at our current situation, it’s an almighty fvck-up. Pearson has now backed himself into a corner. Pretty much all other teams go with 3 in the middle, so obviously their managers are not blessed with Pearson’s foresight and tactical genius. So, if Nige now plays 451/4231 like other mere mortals choose to play (and it’s successful) then obviously people will be asking why he’s avoided playing it so often this season. His only chance to emerge with any degree of personal dignity this season is if 442 miraculously starts to work for us on a regular basis. Sadly, I think we’ve only picked up two points playing an out-right 442: Draws at home to Sunderland and Burnley. So this is unlikely. PS: Before anyone asks when Nugent plays it’s more of a 4411.
lgfualol Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Just drop that Wes . Hamer De Laet Was Upson Huth Schlupp James. Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Kramaric Here's hoping because it is a bigger team (well, last season). They all show up.
Silverdaz Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Sames team as against Villa apart from Huth for Wes
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Hamer De Laet Was Huth Konchesky James Cambiasso King Schlupp Mahrez Kramaric Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Simpson, Hammond, Albrighton, Nugent, Ulloa

I blame Wellens Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Yep it's the right side. And no he won't pick it.

cc_star Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 We'll win this. You have inside knowledge Hamer & Nugent are playing?
cjslcfc Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Would love to see this team: Hamer De Laet Wasilewski Huth Konchesky Mahrez James Hammond Schlupp Nugent Kramaric Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Ulloa, King, Cambiasso, Albrighton, Vardy
cc_star Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Would love to see this team: Hamer De Laet Wasilewski Huth Konchesky Mahrez James Hammond Schlupp Nugent Kramaric Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Ulloa, King, Cambiasso, Albrighton, Vardy I would like to see Hammond alongside James... we desperately need a CDM... it'd been glaringly obvious all season Nugent also needs to be involved, the team plays with more zip when he's in and him pressuring defenders and closing out passing lanes is key to defending from the front
Jmd88 Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Seriously think last seasons team could do better... Kasper De Leat Morgan Moore Schlupp Knockaert Drinkwater James Mahrez Nugent Vardy Agree exactly play last season's team they were fantastic together. NP seems to be the only manager that's brought in players and made the team worse!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

James is our best CM at the moment. Nugent helps us quicken our play and helps us going forward by providing a link to attack (something we severely lacked on Sunday). Kramaric must start and to get the best out of him we need fast play on the ground, all of which is helped by Nugent, Mahrez and Schlupp playing, as well as Ulloa not starting. I think the XI I've chosen would provide the higher pressure, quicker game we need at Everton as well as pace and skill on the counter. Want to see Nugent up to help Kramaric because he desperately needs someone with him and we play better when Nugent plays, despite his profligacy in front of goal.
