Can't remember if it was Mark who started the thread, someone did anyway about him being responsible for a lot of goals. I disagreed to start with but after actually looking at the goals again I did agree. There were numerous goals like the Arsenal one where he'd rush out and cause the problems. This isn't saying others haven't been responsible for goals as well, clearly they have. But he was getting caught out quite regularly. I'd disagree with that as well. I'm not a huge fan of his, his distribution is shocking and he can get caught out of position. But he's not been responsible for a glut of goals like Wes and Liam have through individual errors. Err West Ham away?

Is it that Moore has been responsible for us conceding more goals than Konchesky this season (what you said)? Or, that Moore was responsible for us conceding more goals in the 11 games he started than Konchesky was in the, what, 10 of them that he also played in (which is what you seem to be saying now)? I'm not being awkward, I genuinely don't know which of the two it is. One is wrong, the other's quite possible, of course. It's really not that difficult, I remember Moore making more errors that lead to goals than I remember Konchesky. And that's playing less games as well. If you want to provide me with a highlights video of every goal to prove me wrong, feel free. It's my opinion that he's been personally responsible for more. If you disagree, then that's fine I don't really care. There is an argument to be had that the position he plays that will always be the case as bar the keeper he's the last line of defence.

However, to be fair, Morgan has made some huge clangers but DOESN'T appear droppable. What's right for one player, should be right for another. IMO. Up until the last couple of games we've not really had the choice to drop the bloke have we. We only had Moore as an option, we'll see how we go from here now we have a few more options.

Dan Posted 2 March 2015 Posted 2 March 2015 Went to Birmingham v Brentford at the weekend. Thought he looked pretty ordinary if I'm honest. Didn't have a hell of a lot to do though. Brentford should have won.

Surely you could say that about any loanee? Can't think there would be any conditions applied to the loans, given they can't be cup-tied or play against us. I hope they both do well.

Beckenbauer created the role of the sweeper, so technically and for the majority of his career, he was never playing as a centre-back - rather acting as the last defender in front of the goalkeeper (usually with five in the back).
st albans fox Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 My brentford man in the office said he was doing too much with the ball midweek. They like to pass it around but he said Moore was too often making runs with the ball as if he wanted to show he was better than the rest of them there. I told him that this aspect of his game was quite normal and he likes to take the ball from his own half into the opposition corner flag area at least once a match.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 Im a huge Liam Moore fan but anybody who watched him against Villa away in the league will understand he needs more games elsewhere on loan. People only criticised him going out on loan as we've been vulnerable at the back but for me, we have better currently. Going forward, I still think he can be a top Prem defender but I do think Pearson has handled this situation quite well
