dmayne7 Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Im a huge Liam Moore fan but anybody who watched him against Villa away in the league will understand he needs more games elsewhere on loan. People only criticised him going out on loan as we've been vulnerable at the back but for me, we have better currently. Going forward, I still think he can be a top Prem defender but I do think Pearson has handled this situation quite well Yet a game where 2 brainless pieces of play from Was, a vastly experienced defender with 60+ international caps, cost us the goals. The rest of you post is bang on though. I just think its a little hard to judge Moore when he hasn't played for so long and Huth aside, the others haven't looked particularly convincing.
Ealing Fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Meanwhile at Griffin Park Liam Moore made it onto the front page of the programme but is not in the team nor on the bench..

lgfualol Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Shame it isn't going well for him. He's been poor for ages though, needs some reality checks.
Bettsj2 Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Must be embarrassing for him. Starts the season as a Premiership defender and ends it dropped from a Championship defence.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Goes to show people don't know as much as they think they do.
shade Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 This is what he needed And Deserved why would you say that? I don't personally know him but always thought he seemed a decent level headed guy in interviews?
GingerrrFox Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 He started to believe his own hype. "I'm going on loan to play games and make sure I keep my England U21 place". He assumed he would swan in at Brentford and be an instant starter. He's played well below par since he's been there and this is a wake up call for Liam.
RedSoxUK Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 why would you say that? I don't personally know him but always thought he seemed a decent level headed guy in interviews? I've got nothing against him personally, I'd like him to establish himself as a starting CB for us. Deserved, because he's not been performing at all to the level he knows he can - and being dropped by a team way below our current level, is a lesson for him, understanding that he's not god's gift. He'll come back stronger with the right guidance, i'd like to think the coaching staff at Brentford are doing that.
the-blue-wildabeast Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Give him time, hes hardly played for 3/4 months, bound to be lacking match fitness. One of our top performers early season.
GingerrrFox Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Give him time, hes hardly played for 3/4 months, bound to be lacking match fitness. One of our top performers early season. It's not like he hasn't played for 3/4 months at all. He's played 13 games for us this season and he went straight to Brentford played 3 games and got subbed off in the last 1 and not been seen since. From someone who follows Brentford, I got this response, "absolutely awful, can't believe he's played for you in the Premier League this season".
conLAD logan Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 This is a joke, he started and played well for a championship winning side last year, him not getting the starting 11 of Brentford is not representative of the player he is, and it'll prove to be just a minor blip. Why take this at face value when we know he is more than capable of that standard of football and wasn't actually as bad as people seem to make out when he has started for us in the prem
Guest MattP Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Not surprised really. He's not one 'one of their own' at Brentford so they won't close their eyes and try to ignore any mistakes like a lot of our fan base do. Plenty of time for the lad with his age to still develop but I really hope again this isn't going to be another too much too young footballer we see at LCFC. Was Wes carrying him last season?
Babylon Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Give him time, hes hardly played for 3/4 months, bound to be lacking match fitness. One of our top performers early season. So was Wes bloody Morgan.

No, he wasn't being carried - he's lost his place the last three seasons and not found a way back in. He's over rated because he's a local lad, he'll turn out a decent enough Championship defender.
ScouseFox Posted 18 March 2015 Author Posted 18 March 2015 it annoys me that there's no middle ground. he's not good enough for the premier league right now but some of the comments in here claiming he'll never be good enough to get a regular start for a team like brentford are just as bad. he's a young defender with good qualities, hopefully if he improves like you'd expect someone of his age getting his experiences he'll be good enough to be our first choice in time. whatever league we're in.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 He's over rated because he's a local lad, he'll turn out a decent enough Championship defender. Spot on.
Kitchandro Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Shame, he's fallen off a cliff this season. Until his injury ruled him out of the side for some time he was superb last season, so claims of him being overrated in that respect are bollocks. Not surprised really. Not sure how he could have been when Moore was better than him.
