Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Shame, he's fallen off a cliff this season. Until his injury ruled him out of the side for some time he was superb last season, so claims of him being overrated in that respect are bollocks. Not sure how he could have been when Moore was better than him. Despite losing his place to Wasyl for the 2nd half of the season? Morgan was comfortably the best centre half in the Championship for the last 2 years, and was our best defender for the first few months of this campaign. Since then his form has been woeful up until the last 3 games.

I can't ever remember last season anyone claiming Moore should be coming back into the team for Morgan let alone him being better than him. Morgan was being talked about as a POTY candidate and everyone had fell in love with Wasyl.
shade Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 the negativity and bitchiness on this forum is unbelievable, either people in the Midlands are different to the north or I've stumbled onto mumsnet by accident!
inckley fox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 As with Schlupp before him, we have certain fans who seem smugly pleased that Moore is going through a tough time. The difference between him and, say, Upson, is that at 21 he has an excellent chance of coming through it. But no, we prefer to bleat on about how we always knew he wasn't much good in the first place. People are overlooking a very important point here. If he was one of our better performers earlier in the season and has gone to Brentford, been accused of being overweight, unfit, and below-par, then - bearing in mind he did a good job for us last year - can we really bank on some of these players replicating their 2013/14 form in the coming season? And what does it say about how they've been coached this season?
harpendenfox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 The Moore and Wood struggles are indeed a concern. I wonder how much confidence has now drained from players like them and others like Drinkwater, and whether it will linger into next season. A slow start back in the Championship would not be a surprise, regardless of who is at the helm
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Morgan was comfortably the best centre half in the Championship for the last 2 years... Really? Shackell and Buxton were better than him for me in the Championship last season. He's a bit like Pearson - excellent last year but far too many mistakes this year.
the-blue-wildabeast Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 So was Wes bloody Morgan. I totally agree, but both player have made mistakes but been dealt with at completely different ends of the spectrum, which is why I dont believe this 'tight knit squad' bollocks. There are plenty of players this season with very valid grounds to dislike Nigel, so its pretty nieve to suspect some aint pretty pissed with him, Moore included.
benpicko Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Remember the Moore and Morgan compilation videos after every match at the beginning of the season Good times
Buzzell Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 The lad has the potential. He just needs to keep his head down and get his fitness and form back to prove his worth back into our first team.

No squad will ever all like the manager, anyone out of the team will have the hump a bit. When we're winning people aren't bothered about it though, when we're not everyone likes to make out it's because Pearson is a dick, rather than it actually being a very normal thing up and down the country at every single club.

There are those which deserve to be annoyed. Hamer, Albrighton, Wood for example. You can understand their reasoning for departure. Although Wood doesn't want to give away his promotion boosted salary. Then there are those which have played badly and have deservedly been out of the team. Moore, Drinkwater, De Laet for example. They simply have to up their game next season. If they don't want to do that and see the challenge to prove themselves as wanting away. Then they are best off away. It's a real shame for Moore as he's going to lose his opportunity for England Under 21s in the Euros this Summer as it stands.

If it's down to his lack of form, so be it. He was picked for the 21s while playing for us in the Championship so playing at that level shouldn't be a problem in terms of selection. As for Liam, I hope he gets everything in his life back on track and develops into the star we hope he becomes.

I didn't make myself clear but that's what I meant, a shame that his poor form will see him out of the U21s tournament. All for players gaining experience in such places.

Players like who , the Manager is not there to be anybodys friend, snd in the case of Albrighton he is obviously not doing it in training so I cant blame NP for not picking him

If not I think you've misunderstood my post.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Really? Shackell and Buxton were better than him for me in the Championship last season. He's a bit like Pearson - excellent last year but far too many mistakes this year. I don't think so. Can't think of one forward last year who gave Wes a torrid time. The other 2 were good, but I think Wes was better. But either way he was better and more consistent that Moore was which was the point I was querying. As for this year first 5 games he was top class, made a fair few mistakes since that though. Back to a higher standard in the last 3 or 4 games though although most won't admit it because their opinion has been made on him so won't be objective in their judgement, much like they do with Konch.
MPH Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 It's not like he hasn't played for 3/4 months at all. He's played 13 games for us this season and he went straight to Brentford played 3 games and got subbed off in the last 1 and not been seen since. From someone who follows Brentford, I got this response, "absolutely awful, can't believe he's played for you in the Premier League this season". Well to be fair Harry Kane was bloody awful for us,,,
GingerrrFox Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Well to be fair Harry Kane was bloody awful for us,,, Yeah because 8 of his 13 appearances for us came off the bench and he was stuck out on the left wing. Hardly similar is it.
Walshy5 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 I do worry he's going to turn out to be another Oakes or Mattock. Built up to be the next big thing then ends up spending most of his career in the lower leagues.
MrSpaM Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Has he been recalled?!? could have sworn they said on the moan in yesterday he'd be playing for our u21's in their next game? Or have we got another player called Moore?
Dan Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Hope it's as back-up whilst Wasilewski goes back into the team. Upson's been a poor, poor signing. Could see the thinking but it always had a lot of potential to backfire, and it has.
