If we go down, I dont think you can just blame NP the blames got to be shared equally from the mananger, players, officials, owners, fans.  But at least we have given it a go and not got thrashed every week and we have been competitve in almost every match.

Hi quick thing to ask

why are the owners to blame?

why are the fans to blame 31k every home game sold out at away games??

Because it can't just be pearson's fault, the bloke that recruits the players that have let him down, and the bloke that picks the team, formations and tactics.

The bloke that is employed to get results.

Sorry but the blame lays at pearson feet, the owners have backed him financially, the fans have backed him alll season, even though we have had terrible runs and results.

Yes we have had some dodgy refereeing decisions go against us, but so have a lot of other teams.

The team isn't good enough, but could do better, but this is a side that pearson assembled, and his tactics, formations, and choice of players have been the main reason for where we are.

Anybody that cannot see that pearson has ****ed up on many occasions this season, and hasn't learnt the way to play in the premier league, is blinded by their loyalty to the man

As with anything, ultimately he is the manager so takes full responsibility. I don't think Pearson has ever shied away from that, mind. I do feel certain players have let him down though when he put his trust in them.

And that is all that matters  :pearson:  :scarf:  :trumpet:

If there is one set of people who are definitely not to blame in this total mess of a season it is the fans. 32K week in week out to watch that shower of shite is commitment to the cause above and beyond.

Think the villa match in the cup is highly representative of that, 6K travelled on a Sunday morning to watch one of the most inept displays from both players and manager i have seen in a long time.

Then again fans do not really count for much these days.

3 pointless suggestions on looking for others to blame rather then NP and players.

The main responsibility is the manager's as stated by Monsell. NP only had one objective - to keep us up. If he doesn't do this he has failed this season. He also is the person who selects, recruits and motivates the players. If they under-perform you need to question why that is to them and also to the manager on individuals. If the team crumbles and under-performs in all areas, you have to question the manager - has he lost the changing room etc?

We have been fairly poor this season but I wouldn't say that NP hasn't lost backing from players and/or some fans.

I do however think he needed to go when his sacking/reappoint farce went on and if we go down then he must go.

I thank him for his previous work but you have to go on this season alone.

Totally agree, fans have been premier league home and away, it's the manager/players that haven't stepped up

The owners and manager are to blame for us going down, sure, the fans aren't. Some of them are to blame for making it even more ****ing miserable though.

That's about spot on. Everyone on the recruitment and playing side is culpable for a relegation from the players and manager to the failed DOF appointment to the top (no pun intended).

That doesn't mean you cut off the nose to spite the face though if you think the same people are the best ones to put us in a position to get back into this division.

....you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Buck always stops with the manager... As we see though the summer's recruitment strategy wasn't up to the required standard, which leaves the manager with a huge mitigating circumstance, and not enough of our existing record-breaking players haven't made the step up

People questioning the mentioning of the fans is a bit odd, seeing as a very vocal minorities negativity has been counter-productive and often drowns out the majority... it's an appalling atmosphere of supposed 'support' and hinders the players turning it around rather than helps them

Owners = maybe they should of made a decision on getting a new man in (not saying they should of, hypothetical question).

Fans = some of the games the atmoshere has been so negative that its natural for it to filter down to the players and make them play within themselves

Totally agree.

Pearson has had free reign over a number of years to get us establised (or keep us up this year if you prefer) using transfer funds and also a fair amount of time now - both given by the owners.

They and the fans have, I would say been more than patient, but it's not worked. In fact from the base we started from when we lifted the championship trophy in May, I can't imagine many, whilst thinking it was not going to be easy, would have thought it could have gone so badly.

It has been a totally shocking and unacceptable showing.

Nobody else can be held to account other than him - it's his team. It was his job to sign the players that would keep us up, therefore whether they have let him down or just not been good enough is irrelevant. He he has failed in achieving this season's objective, an objective lest we forget he has been handsomely salaried for.

For me his exit is long overdue, and to look to blame anyone else, or even try share the blame with anyone else is incorrect.
