What kind of club advertises on teletext anyway. I've never understood it. Wtf did they actually do, take out a personal ad saying "striker wanted"? What the hell kind of person just happens to be browsing teletext and stumbles across an opportunity to play professional football?

The whole thing stinks tbh. I think the FA Cup script writers had a bad day there. It's all fake.

I remember speaking to a mate before the game and he said, 'if it was the 4th round i'd be worried but we'll just do a professional job on these'.

Nods of approval all round.

One of the most depressing days as a fan. The whole thing comfirmed the fear that PT didnt have a fooking clue and we were fooked.

is there a reason for showing it? they had hundreds to pick from that were better.

Well they love to show a shock result don`t they, the romance of the cup and all that, which is great unless you happen to be on the end of it!

Horrible day that was, i was just numb, couldn`t believe how we could lose that game.

I agree though, loads of better games they could have shown.

From a City point of view, the Shrewsbury 5-2 win in 82 was a far better game that they could have shown.

Personally though, i would have liked them to show the Joe Waters quarter final game against QPR from 74.

Oh yes for the youngster!

It's quarter final day and that's probably one of the biggest quarter final shocks in recent years I guess

We were already planning our semi final day.....

Same here, I was working out how I could afford a game against Liverpool... then... It's too painful... Probably the most deflated I've ever been at a football game... :(

Ek! That game is what started our fall from grace.

Started as soon as O'Neill left and Taylor came in.

The worst manager we've ever had.

Hmm, a close one with Frank Mclintock i reckon.

I suppose the amount of money Taylor spewed out on crap players, plus his dismantling of O`neils team just about edges it.

The misery of the day was compunded by a return journey which saw my train cancelled and redirected to Brum where my next train was cancelled and I was left surrounded by fans of every conceivable colour and stripe busily discussing City's demise.

I don't think we won again for about 10 matches.

Yes, I agree. Frank wasn't given any real money to spend.

yes maybe but my point was that the only ones likely to watch it are the 5000 or so Wycombe fans an non city fans who like to gloat and mock their Leicester fan workmates the following day. I am sure there have been other shock QF exits involving higher profile teams and the ones left in.

Ugh, I always remember Simon Royce's pathetic jump for the Essandoh header.

It didn't help that Lorry Sanchez was a ****.
