Naughty Nigel calling a reporter a pr*ck

HE PLAYED THE INCIDENT DOWN!!!!!!!!!

"Serves their own purpose". Youd already made your mind up before you even heard what went on. Dear me, nugget.

Of course, it does.

Why playing a conversation with a journalist who asked the one question people like you keep banging on about in the first place?

The amount of times I've met Pearson in person - including prior to the game on Saturday - he is far from what he is being called on here. I've just watched Fantasy Football Club where they featured Pearson and both Fenners and Merson (who played with Pearson at Middlesbrough) said he is anything other than what he comes across as in press conferences and interviews.

If you have a problem with Pearson calling the reporter something then fine, although I personally think it's nothing, but it's the abuse you lot aim at Pearson I cannot agree with. It's not needed.

Maybe he needs some serious lessons in how to deal with the media then, because everybody that doesn't 'know' him, can't help but think he's a clown who has failed miserably this season. Honestly, other clubs fans must laugh at our arrogant manager, the latest being blaming his players and threatening changes due to his terrible tactics. Its embarrassing. I couldn't give two ****'s what Pearson is like away from football, what I do care about is Leicester City, and he's clearly lost the plot, making our club a laughing stock in the process.

The reality is, 99% of Leicester fans have had enough. For ours and Pearson's sake, get rid now before this all starts to spill over.

I dont need Radio Leicester to tell me what kind of behaviours i think are acceptable and not from a manager.

Do you not think the majority of the fans arent the same. Are people only commenting on this incident now? or were people talking about it on saturday?

The fact is, the journalist has done the club and our manager a huge favour by dismissing the incident.

Whats the point in burying your head in the sand and pretending it wont be reported on by channels that might include local radio?

Media likeablity doesn't equal success. Or else men like Mourinho or Wenger would have to change their approach by a whopping 180 degrees.

Some fans are just all too keen on manager soundbites that the media have prepared for them - by Uncle Sam, Holloway, Bruce et al.

What makes Pearson "arrogant" to you? Because he doesn't say what you want him to say during press interviews or other media appearances?

"99% of Leceister fans have had enough"? The people who've never liked him in the first place have been flooding this forum in unusually high numbers since the weekend and the hardly speak for the majority - as for most part, Foxestalk does represent the fanbase to a certain extent. There's just so many people jumping the bandwagon now because they feel they have more fellow fans they can relate to.

What makes Pearson arrogant, is a refusal to answer any question he considers a threat or criticism to him, or if he does, has no other way of answering than a glib, overly aggressive quip at whoever asked it with very little attempt at a constructive answer.

I havent missed any points.

We have a manager that makes himself look silly.

And youre doing an ostrich impression.

Go dig up some clips of managers being silly.

Stringer asked both parties involved for an interview.

Pearson as usual said fook off and die.

The journo accepted and PLAYED it DOWN...

He could have made a big deal out of it like we are,(only because its not the first time he's buckling under the pressure as non of this happened last couple of years)but he chose not to

Because it serves their own purpose.

Such a ridiculous idea - inviting a journalist who asked a particular question which the manager dismissed and using this as a major talking point during a radio show.

If that isn't bias, then what is it?

How about inviting all the other journalists who're asking smart questions? Somehow, I don't see that fitting the phone-in's profile or its main audience.

what purpose is that then.

if anybody has given him a light ride through this shambles of a season it's Radio Leicester.

don't tell me there's some sort of insidious plot to get him fired or i'll have to stitch up my sides from laughing.

If the guy at whom the offensive language was directed isn't making a meal of it then why are you?

Cos it's not the first time our hero manager is making himself and lcfc look like tw@ts!.

He can't hack it.

Period.

Did any of this site happen over the last few years when he was winning???

Journo should have wrestled np to the floor, hand around his throat and screamed f**k off and die you p*ick. Nothing wrong in that. Only a bit of banter.

Look at the way Billy Davies acted with the media. Didnt he accost a cameraman at Millwall away screaming in his face, gave a bizarre series of coded tweets and ban his local radio station from interviewing him, whilst having what looked like a huge inferiority complex? Not too dissimilar to what we are witnessing here.

People up and down the country, and on here, thought the bloke was absolutely unhinged and a laughing stock.

Our own manager is doing much of the same, and its "top banter".

Strange isnt it.

Obviously, you don't listen to a lot of interviews with him.

And the weekend's "incident" was in relation to a question about a hypothetical scenario, asked repeatedly. To which Pearson, slightly aggravated, replied "No" several times - and the journalist at the other end simply wouldn't get it.

Strange isnt it.

I don't recall BBC Radio Nottingham employing similar people than their Leics counterpart who have nothing better to do than attack the manager of the biggest football club in the county with hideous gestures - also, people with little to no qualification for their job, who thrive on soundbites themselves, cater to a specific audience and from my point of view, simply want to attract more listeners by being "provocative".

You still don't want to understand or simply ignore the fact that the players started boycotting BBC Radio Leicester first, with the manager following shortly after. I don't see how you can hold that against him - unless you're being facetious.

Strange people like you making a mountain out of a molehill. And then creating some sort of backstory about the general consensus being negative towards the manager. That's all your subjective opinion.

Oh come on, hes always had that streak to him. It just rears its head a lot more when things go wrong.

I remember a league cup game not too long ago at home to Burton Albion. We lost heavily.

Stringer asks him a question about the substitutions he made on the night, and he arrogantly quips back before Stringer even finishes his sentence "Yeah well i wanted to stick Futacs on". Aggressive tone, annoyed over nothing. That streak is always there, thats just an example.

You didnt see much of it last season because basically nothing was going wrong. Now, its increasingly apparent.

The fact this topic has hit 8 pages shows just how much absolutely everything Pearson does is being magnified now. There's loads of clips of managers losing it with idiot journo's asking the same repetitive questions, Strachan was a master at it and everybody's God O'Neill had no time for the cnuts either but then again he had a better record at this level than Pearson so nobody's interested in that.

Seriously though, this topic is just 8 pages of people going round in circles over a muttered comment at the end of an interview, it's not like he blurted it out is it?

You do realize that he's not on very good terms with Stringer in the first place, don't you?

Listen to other interviews with Pearson (you know, the ones Stringer has to rely on for the time being because he's been frozen out) - they are interviews with intelligent, thoughtful questions by people who care about a decent conversation, challenging the manager on an intellectual level, rather than trying to extrapolate fancy one-liners that sell well in the media world.

Im more than happy to be called strange by a WUM.

I cant remember a manager in my lifetime of supporting Leicester who had been at the centre of a series of "incidents" like this in such a short space of time.

Other managers have talked to Stringer, and many at times when the situation was infinitely more dire than the ones Pearson has been in.

Once again i will NOT condone the gesture, before thats levelled against me.

And i dont believe portraying the club in a poor light is a molehill. A good job for Pearson, the journalist has put cold water on his comments. He did him a big favour.

Posted

It really doesn't bother me to be honest. I'm sure there's plenty of other managers who have said similar things but their comments perhaps weren't caught by the mic.

Harry redknap, if that's how you spell it, did it to a sky bloke, but worse, and not under his breath, it's on YouTube somewhere, quite funny really, when the Sky bloke begs it, saying please Harry I didn't mean it, or words to that affect lol

Fair play to the mods for removing AKCJ's ridiculous personal insult.

If thats what football discussion has come to, then its a sad day.
