Donut Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 absolute hero If another clubs manager does it, he looks a fool though? Im not gonna start arguing, people can have their own opinions, its fine.
ScouseFox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 If another clubs manager does it, he looks a fool though? Im not gonna start arguing, people can have their own opinions, its fine. nah i think it'd be funny if any manager or player did it. let's be honest as well, the majority of the media are pr icks.
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 He wasn't getting into many issues the last couple of seasons when he wasn't under the media spotlight of the EPL did he??? Pressure.
Donut Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 The thing is, hes only ever been on an upward curve with Leicester and the media. Youve got to handle when the going gets tough too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Sorry Geoff its not washing anymore. The journo maybe unprofessional but no need for Pearson to be.He knows by now everything he does in the media compound will be scrutinised in the Premier League. This is not the mickey mouse League One where you can get away with crap Spot on Raj. I'm truly astounded anyone is defending this behaviour. Then again, on here...no Im not.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 If previous incidents hadn't have happened this would be seen as slightly funny and not a big issue i think. However it doesn't help a man who now looks like he can't control emotion or bad language.
Kitchandro Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 On the one hand he's not necessarily wrong and is entitled to slag off journalists, who are mainly arseholes. On the other hand he did, and does, look petulant and silly jut because he knows the season has been a fvck up. I don't like people focusing on things like this too much because it distracts from the real issues which are his failings as a manager. That's the important stuff.
Mike Oxlong Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 My missus muttered under her breath that I was a ****. She was right but should I divorce her?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 And completely twists what steve bruce said, I'd have told him to **** off and never speak to his source again... Yes, but you are not a representative,of Leicester City, are you? His comments reflect on the club. Perhaps he is looking for a way to be sacked, rather than suffer a greater indignity at the end of the season. The coward's way out!
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 The thing is, hes only ever been on an upward curve with Leicester and the media. Youve got to handle when the going gets tough too. He can't.He seems immune to criticism. Everything has been rosy for him at City until now and he's acting like a spoilt child, having a go at Anyone who dares question him
AKCJ Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Just watched the video. I think Pearsons behaviour this season has become increasingly erratic. After years of researching mental health myself, i think he is on the verge of a full breakdown. Because he called someone a **** under his breath?!?!?! lol lol Give me a ****ing break...

I don't like people focusing on things like this too much because it distracts from the real issues which are his failings as a manager. That's the important stuff. Precisely. He shouldn't have really said it, but who cares? Honestly? The FOAD thing was the only time i've really questioned his attitude to "pressure" (some seem desperate to use this word). The McCarthur "incident" and this have been completely blown out of proportion. Just desperation from those who don't like Pearson. It's almost identical to the Clarkson scenario. Some don't like him for the way he acts but right now he's the best man for the job.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Because he called someone a **** under his breath?!?!?! lol lol Give me a ****ing break... When did you last hear ANY manager, in an interview, call someone a ****? And come across as hostile. When? He's classless.
Donut Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Because he called someone a **** under his breath?!?!?! lol lol Give me a ****ing break... Well, youve got cameras and microphones all around you. There are certain ways to act. Lets take the McArthur "non" incident as some people want to play it down. First of all, why is the manager wrestling on the sidelines? If you take a step back and dont put yourself in the situation, there is no headline. Then, when given the opportunity to diffuse the situation afterwards, his response was "I can look after myself". Thats fanning the flames, and suggesting something more sinister did go on. Take a look at his general demeanour before he used the word p***k. What exactly did the journalist do to promp such an agrressive tone of response in the first place. Totally needless..
DennisNedry Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Gone right off Pearson this season. Bad (and not enough) transfers, bizarre favoritism towards certain players, poor tactics and substitutions, acting like a bellend on numerous occasions.
sylofox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I do wonder if the owners put a relegation clause in his contract where by we can get rid for next to nothing once down. Not anti Nige but starting to think it is a league to far for him in every way. Also am wondering what he has to do to get the sack. Praps he wants the sack before we go down would make some sense.
AKCJ Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 When did you last hear ANY manager, in an interview, call someone a ****? And come across as hostile. When? He's classless. Oh yeah, nobody else has ever done it. Point proven. Or how about, have you ever called someone a whatever under your breath? Of course you have. Get a grip and move on. What a waste of time this topic is. Well, youve got cameras and microphones all around you. There are certain ways to act. Lets take the McArthur "non" incident as some people want to play it down. Funny how when he wrestled Waghorn everyone loved it. I wonder if we'd even be considering it if we were winning games each week?? So many people are desperate to find something to blame. Just a desperate blame culture on this forum. I bet you even think that there's a direct correlation between well behaved managers and successful ones? I don't expect idiots to pick up on them, but there was clearly a sarcastic undertone to the "I can take care of myself" situation. He's grinning like a cheshire cat in the process. We all know that Nige is no good with the press. He's trying to avert from a potentially damaging situation (as in, the press would go mad if he did actually try and harm him) by being himself. But that only really works when you know Nigel Pearson the person. He shouldn't have said it and a more media savvy person would have diffused the situation with consummate ease. If he'd have walked over to the "journalist" (I don't really like using that word, because it implies they actually do their research) and called him a **** then it'd be out of order. In the real world, he's done it under his breath not knowing that the microphone would pick it up. In fact, I had to watch it a couple of times to figure out what he said. The journo deserved it for trying to imply that Nigel Pearson teams like to surround referees. If he'd done his research then he'd have known it. Asking stupid questions that could have easily been answered by his own ****ing colleagues makes him a ****. "Hey lads, i've been told to get an angle on the surrounding of referees topic. I've only seen Leicester two or three times this season, is it worth asking about? Anyone seen them play more than I have". That's literally all it'd have taken. No idea where this aggressive tone is coming into it either? The lad asked a stupid question and got the abrupt answer it deserved. "No". Was all that Nige said. Until the journo got the grump and asked it again but rewording it to make it sound different. You think that Nige is there to answer stupid questions with a smile on his face. We'd just effectively relegated ourselves with a shit performance. I don't think he had time for idiotic questions, do you? So stop trying to be offended for everything. You're past the point of being plain old sad and are now beginning to sound desperate to try and 'get at' Nige. Hows about we ignore irrelevant things like this and get behind him and the team as we try to stay in this division?
st albans fox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 If he gets sacked he gets a big payout. the board must have decided we ain't staying up so they'd rather save the money (assuming there is a relegation clause in his contract). Given how high he was riding when he renegotiated his contract, I'd be amazed if he allowed a clause to be inserted. So I'm arguing both ways. Clearly there was no one able to replace him which is why he is still here. Can't see that changing until the end of the season. Unless the KP atmosphere becomes so toxic that the owners have no choice. I do worry about him staying for next season as there must be a big doubt that he can lift the squad a second time. as was mooted above, sacking him after a dozen games would be a terrible place to end up.
Dickov22 Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I reckon he'll get away with this one. With the owners being foreign, I wonder if they can really get the gist of what a complete arsehole he can be in interviews. His interview with the bbc wasn't particularly great, either. It's as if no one is allowed to ask him a bloody question.

When have you heard Arsene Wenger, Mourinho, ANY of the Prem managers ever give an interview like Pearson gave? Either on TV or captured on YouTube? Come up with the evidence. Until then, I'll dismiss you as just another boring Pearsonite.
MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Don't skirt the question. When have you heard Arsene Wenger, Mourinho, ANY of the Prem managers ever give an interview like Pearson gave? The media would either not dare asking that sort of question or Mourinho's or Wenger's answer would not be commented upon further. Hence why you don't read about it in the papers or online - and even if you would, do you think people would really remember? The yellow press are serving soundbites on a daily basis, so why bother consuming it entirely? The next "scandal" or "incident" is just around the corner. Tomorrow, today's news will be yesterday's.

You're past the point of being plain old sad and are now beginning to sound desperate to try and 'get at' Nige. Hows about we ignore irrelevant things like this and get behind him and the team as we try to stay in this division? Dont put words in my mouth. I didnt say there was a correlation between well behaved managers and successful ones. I dont think it can be denied his tone was aggressive. It was needlessly abrupt, and why was the journalists question stupid? And because of his inept tactics during the game then, that was a signal for no journalists to ask anything of note? Why not just send one of your staff to do the media after the game if youre that pissed off. You talk about Pearson's need to be more media savvy, and that people dont understand his tone and his answers if they dont understand Nigel Pearson the "person". No one cares about Nigel Pearson the person. Its the same as no one caring what the players do in training. All that matters is what happens on the matchdays and producing it on the matchdays. All anyone cares about is how he acts when managing the club and one aspect of that is the media. No one could care what his personality is like away from the cameras. We dont see it, and its not reported on. However, his demeanour in the media is something we are subjected to constantly, and he cares little about the reputation of the club or having a measure of decency in answering questions. So in reality, what does it matter what your behind the scenes image is, if your VISIBLE image has been tarnished on multiple times this season. Pleading ignorance is ridiculous. You are surrounded by microphones. And his poor attitude towards journalists is making his life more and more difficult, because he gives them the fuel to push his buttons.

They literally did ask Mourinho in the wake of wednesday night and surrounding the referee. What an awful example when talking about "not daring to ask Mourinho". You dont think Wenger got questionned in the Keown, Vieira, Petit, Adams, Dixon era about discipline for example? Load of rubbish. Pearsonite and proud.
