merlin1969 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Villa win, QPR win or a draw ??? I think a QPR win would be the best result put them level on points with Villa (28) Goal difference would be about the same and City have 2 games in hand to get to 28 points.
Benguin Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Well considering they are both teams in the relegation battle we need them to pick up the fewest points. So a draw - 1 each is better than a 3 and a 0
merlin1969 Posted 7 April 2015 Author Posted 7 April 2015 If QPR win we lose nothing we have to get to 28 points to equal them both but if Villa win they have 29 now and its a bigger target to reach ?
Xen Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If QPR win we lose nothing we have to get to 28 points to equal them both but if Villa win they have 29 now and its a bigger target to reach ? Except we don't have to catch villa. We have to catch 3 of qpr, Burnley, Hull, Sunderland and villa. Most likely the first three, as hull have a horrific run in and it's not much better for the other two. A draw for me. Villa still catchable, but qpr within touching distance. Given the fixtures at the weekend, if we manage a win we could then be a point behind both Burnley and qpr with 1/2 games in hand respectively, as well as 3 points off safety and only 4 behind 16th. Followed by a villa win. Gives us a realistic chance at getting off the foot of the table on Saturday, with 2 games in hand over qpr.
Captain... Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Whatever happens tonight we will be 6 points from safety by this time tomorrow, I think Villa will have enough to stay up regardless and the psychological factor of getting off the bottom with a win on Sarurday means if I had to pick a winner it would be Villa, but what will be will be our game on Satturday is the only one that really matters.
kingcarr21 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Not rocket science. A draw is best result and 1 point disappears from off the table
Benguin Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Not rocket science. A draw is best result and 1 point disappears from off the table Spot on. If a team wins then 3 points are added a Draw then only two. No brainer for me. Id pick Villa if I had too

If i had to pick a winner it would have to b Villa. If we are to survive i can only see it being QPR Burnley and Hull that drop below us. Cant allow QPR to get some momentum now

Big if but if we beat WBA you can add them to that list as there run in is worse than anyones
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Aston Villa win for me. A win for them tonight will mean QPR only stay 3 points ahead of us, with a worse goal difference. They play Chelsea at the weekend also, so you would like to think a win for us at WBA will finally take us off the bottom. I personally think Villa will be ok under Sherwood, a win for them tonight will keep the dog fight between, ourselves, QPR, Burnley, Sunderland & Hull. Hull & Sunderland with the most difficult run ins!
Stevosevic Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Villa have very tough away games. If they don't win, they are right in the mix. The more teams we can possibly catch the better.

Southampton (A) Liverpool (H) Palace (A) Arsenal (H) Burnley (H) Spurs (A) Man Utd (H) It's very conceivable they'll get sucked right in and soon - if they don't beat Burnley, they're definitely toast.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 0-0 Preferably with a season ending injury to Charlie Austin. Shit, I'm a bad person.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Both teams to field an ineligible player thus copping a points deduction would be good. Here's hoping.
Finn Claw II Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 In terms of total points to rivals, a draw is best. Question is will we need to catch both, if you think Villa are as good as safe then you want them to win. I'm really not sure about Villa but I reckon they will finish above Hull. So a draw or a Villa win for me
LCCFox96 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 1) Draw. 2) QPR Win. 3) Villa Win. Preferably with Charlie Austin and/or Christian Benteke getting crocked in the process.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Gotta be the draw I guess. Leave them both right in it.
lestajigs Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 The best possible result will be a shit 0.0 with a couple of red cards and a couple of injuries
