desertfox2 Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 We have as much chance of doing a double deal for Ronaldo and Messi as we have of signing Milner. Not going to happen
les-tah Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 For midfield personally still think we need another top class centre mid aswell as another top class winger. Defense goes without saying. And i would like another striker.
MC Prussian Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 James Olley Just confirmed with Wenger that #afc have taken up an option to extend Tomas Rosicky's contract by one year. it was nice entertaining the idea while it lasted. Would it be far-fetched to ponder a loan move, though?
Foxymcoxy Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Would it be far-fetched to ponder a loan move, though? They aren't going to extend his contract at his age if he isn't wanted in the squad.
Xen Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 And why would they bother extending his contract for a year if they were just going to loan him out for that time anyway? They'd just release him instead.
ronnup Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 James Milner will not be cheap, way out of our price range. Not out of the price range considering he's free. We could afford him. It's massively unrealistic and would upset the squad horribly though. Abu Diaby on a pay as you play. Lotus Cheek loan.
Guest Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Would it be far-fetched to ponder a loan move, though? You really don't think much before posting do you? Why would a team sign a guy for ONE year if they didn't want him in the team? Yeah, we'll sign you and pay you and then loan you out to someone else for the length of the contract!!! duh!
TJB-fox Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Apparently they only extended his contract because he's good mates with Petr Cech!
Foxymcoxy Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Not out of the price range considering he's free. We could afford him. It's massively unrealistic and would upset the squad horribly though. Abu Diaby on a pay as you play. Lotus Cheek loan. Think Arsenal would still want Diaby if it's on pay as you play...can't see him taking that tbh. Loftus Cheek, obviously I haven't seen masses of him but if half the hype is real I would be up for that. I reckon Mourinho would consider it too, he seems to respect us.
Hack Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Ok here goes. Gk's Kasper yes Hamer maybe. Possible addition here Defenders. CD's Huth yes, Morgan yes, Was yes, Moore, probably, could be loaned again. Upson no. So need at least one more here. WB's De Laet yes, used as a CD as Sub, Simpson doubtful, Koncesky no. Albrighton as a winger/wb yes, Schlupp yes. Need one more I would say. CM's Drinky yes, King yes, Cambiasso absolutely, James yes, but out for most of season. Hammond no, so one maybe 2 more here Attackers, Vardy yes, Ulloa yes, Krameric yes, Nugent yes, Mahrez yes Wood maybe and on loan. Knock no. That is 19 players including Moore and Wood. So 6 to get to 25 and that is if none on loan. I do think 6 to 8 new players replacing the ones leaving or being sold of any of those we would like to keep I would say half bought half on free. Who they are well that is for another conversation.
TJB-fox Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Think we don't need too many new players. Bare in mind that people were criticizing NP's transfer activity this season, it's mostly the players from the Championship that have kept us up with 2/3 important additions. This squad have proven they can stay up so for me, next season is all about establishing ourselves as a premiership side. Hopefully we sign Huth, then I think we could do with 3/4 more- depending on if players like Hammond or Moore remain at the club or are released/sent out on loan. Think another left (wing) back is needed, and another experienced prem central midfielder and an attacking midfielder if we continue to play 3412. Then, potentially another striker in January. I'd go for Tom Cleverly if he doesn't join Villa, Jansen and Van Der Vaart- along with Huth.

IsItMuzzy Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 I know wide midfielder/winger won't be our main focus but Seb Larsson could be a decent, albeit unlikely, signing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MC Prussian Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 That's true, you didn't. Perhaps we can loan him for a week. Please stop with the Col city fan impressions - I'm already having a tough time coping with one on here. Three months to six months? Stranger things have happened - all depends on the personnel situation at Arsenal next season.

VLC86 Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Sunderland's player of the season. Doubt they'd sell Clattermole didnt win it?
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 Clattermole didnt win it? Cattermole was the runner up, just edged out by Seb Larsson. Both have been very important in keeping them up. All joking (and sarcasm aside) I still think Cattermole could do a job for City. He does what he does well. And I'd still like to see a defensively minded midfielder at the club. Again though, I doubt Sunderland would want to sell him.
4everfox Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 Cattermole was woeful when we played Sunderland and he was lucky not to get sent off. The bloke is a liability.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 Cattermole was woeful when we played Sunderland and he was lucky not to get sent off. The bloke is a liability. He's also been a crucial component in keeping up a generally poor Sunderland side for two seasons running. The terrible run they had, when still under their previous manager, coincided with Cattermole not being in the side due to injury. He makes a difference to them.

Misses too many games through suspension. We'll never sign him whilst Pearson is here. Let it go.

You continued to praise and defend Beckford long after it was clear he was crap for City and needed to go. I remember it well. I'll take your opinion of players with a pinch of salt Bertie.
Fox in the North Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Right this thread is about who we'd like to see, no who we are actually going to sign. After last season with cambiasso turning up anything is possible
