Benguin Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Yeah, but it's not like he's available on a free this summer - is it? His contract runs until 2017 and that means we'd have to pay a lot more money than for Jansen. If we are only getting a new LB on a free than I worry. Nigel gonna get pound notes out this summer
foxfanazer Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Would love us to check Kolarov's availability. Bet he's on a good whack though

les-tah Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 If we are only getting a new LB on a free than I worry. Nigel gonna get pound notes out this summer I agree but we spent near 20 million on strikers this season so I expect us to spend that around other positions aswel!
foxfanazer Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Dream onWe are massive He's way too good to be sitting on the bench at man city though. Someone like Spurs or Arsenal should sign him
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 It's cityfanlee123, what do you expect really. hahahahahahahahahahaha The irony that YOU of all people said it
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 A little bit more of my soul is destroyed when someone mentions Caulker. Seriously? Decent defender, very good potential, played in a team full of money grabbers who don't play for the shirt. This forum was salivating at the thought of him before QPR, he was decent at cardiff, their best player. I would suggest that anyone who wants us to sign Caulker take a look at Newcastle's goal on Saturday. I would suggest you take a look at our defence before christmas... Same scenario.
kingfox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I wonder what Chelsea will do with Marin & Van Ginkel, one of them on loan would be decent.
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I wonder what Chelsea will do with Marin & Van Ginkel, one of them on loan would be decent. Moses, Romeu, Van Ginkel, Bamford, Marin and Salah, all worth a loan
thegaffa Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 How about michu? Granted he's not done much recently after his long injury but if he could back to his best he would be a good signing. Just a thought.

thegaffa Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Rule him out then, we don't need players who don't give their all for the shirt.

Just stop, he's absolutely shit, potential based on what? Two straight relegations? Not being able to defend?

So our transfer policy should be to sign someone who is on a par with our defence when it wasat its worse?
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 So our transfer policy should be to sign someone who is on a par with our defence when it was at its worse? Don't take things so literally... I was pointing out that our defence was absolutely terrible for 4 months, then with the signing of 1 player and a change of formation look at our current run, the lad is 23 years old.... right team, right players around him and he will be a top half defender. Just stop, he's absolutely shit, potential based on what? Two straight relegations? Not being able to defend? Based on what? you must watch him every week then... Our defence were "shit" for 4 months, they turned it around, he's in a club full of money grabbers like joey barton who steal a living and play for the money not the club... He played for cardiff who didnt deserve to be in that division anyway, tottenham came back in for him with a bid but he wanted to play for Redknapp again. unfortunately redknapp stitched them up and jumped ship. He's played 18 times for spurs during his development, Played 26 times when swansea finished 11th, Went to cardiff who were punching above their weight and had managerial changes and plenty of crap througout the season under their new owners.. Then signed for Redknapp who gave him his chances in the first place, who put together a team of idiots and jumped before the ship sank. This will go on and on anyway, I think he will be solid in the future.
merlin1969 Posted 17 May 2015 Author Posted 17 May 2015 Matt Phillips of QPR ???? Only Lionel Messi has more assists across Europe's top five Leagues in 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/apr/09/cristiano-ronaldo-leo-messi-qpr-matt-phillips-assists

HitchinFox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I think Caulker's five goals in the Prem for Cardiff last year flattered to deceive. He is a defender, after all, so while his contributions at the attacking end might grab a few headlines and get him noticed on MOTD and other highlight programmes, it is preventing goals that what he is paid to do. It is worth noting that the Cardiff defence, lead by Caulker, leaked in 74 goals last season – only Fulham let in more. So far this season, QPR have let in 68, the most in the league. I've watched quite a lot of QPR this season – as they've been our rivals for the drop – and I must say that Caulker hasn't impressed me one bit. His positional sense is at times criminal and he gives up on situations far too easily, something that I noticed him doing at Cardiff last season too. There's nothing wrong in principal in looking at relegated teams for some gems – but would steer clear of Caulker. In the past two years he has led the defence of teams that finished 2nd and 1st in the most goals conceded chart. It hasn't all been his fault, but I fear he might have lost his way since impressing at Swansea and being touted as "one of the best defenders in England".Maybe it is his attitude that is letting him down? Maybe he feels that he should be playing for better teams than Cardiff and QPR? Whatever it is, he's been, at times, pretty shocking and I would rather we try and nurture Liam Moore into a starting XI CB than risk high wages on Caulker.
les-tah Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Would love cambiasso to pull a few strings and bring in a mate and it be another massive name!!
LCFC FOX Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Close to signing youngster Scott Hegg according to sky
Father Ted Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Kolarov No chance I love how optimistic we are about signings now. I genuinely don't think we need too much. Huth on a permanent and potentially one more centre back (with Moore going out on loan). A left sided player would be essential too as back up to Schlupp (unless Pearson thinks Chilwell could do a job?). I'd also add another centre midfielder now that James is out for the foreseeable future and Deano potentially off. Flamini would be top of the pile here for me to target.
roblcfc84 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Close to signing youngster Scott Hegg according to sky Could be a real coop if we sign him like.
