Finn Claw II Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Gravel - just so we can sign his song again. Mings is a decent shout, him or this German fella. Nigel de Jong?
Babylon Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 No dipping into the championship please, not unless it's a young player, for instance Zac Clough. We need to do better than that and try to bring in a higher caliber of player in. I just don't know how people can just rule out a whole league. We were after James McArthur and he went to Palace and has been brilliant for them. Ulloa banged in 10 goals, Austin 17 both from the Champ. Cresswell was 25 and been brilliant for West Ham.
Babylon Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Wouldn't be shocked to see us go back in for Tomás Sivok, out of contact this summer I think and we were interested before.
Robin JD Popley Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 I genuinely think we could make a bid for Mings as I have said elsewhere. Also, the Boro and Norwich squads have some good players too we could look at as we know one of their squads will be set for another season in the Football League. I agree with Babs though, it would be stupid to entirely right off the league below us, as it would also perhaps be silly to right off anyone in the squads going down. We do need to stop buying the cheap option though. This summer I think the plan will be a lot more mature than last season and hopefully Nigel will get his way on recruitment. Despite being a critic of his over time, I will give him his dues when it comes to signing players - he gets it right more times than not but I think he was incredibly frustrated last season, so, deserves the chance to get in Premier League players he feels will enhance us. We can have a good guess at who will be here next season out of the out of contract players too, so we will need to buy irrespective of monetary cost etc. Would love us to try and get someone like Flamini or Rosicky in as rumoured yesterday. Another experienced head in midfield alongside Esteban (assuming he resigns) will be invaluable as the bedrock of our team. Huth in defence is another must and then we can go from there.
AKCJ Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Mitrovic is a big powerhouse.. upgrade on ulloa! Oh yes please!
Richard Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Two players for every position: Gk: schmeichel Hamer RB/RWB: de Laet, Albrighton, Simpson LB/LWB: Schlupp, Konchesky CB: Moore, Morgan, Wasyl, Upson, Huth CM: King, James, Drinkwater, Cambiasso, Hammond RM: Mahrez Strikers: Nugent, Vardy, Ulloa, Kramaric, Wood So Huth, Cambiasso + LB then a wide player. Maybe another central midfielder and forward also if the right player comes along

And you've included James whos going to be out for at least half the season? And Simpson who's likely to be behind bars? We're going to need a lot more than just re-signing Huth/Cambiasso and getting 2 new faces...

Maybe another central midfielder and forward also if the right player comes along Simpson won't be a Leicester player next season, Konchesky isn't good enough and will probably end up leaving, Upson won't be here next season, James is injured for 9 months, Hammond will probably end up getting released, Wood won't be here next season. So... 2 centre backs needed (Huth included, Kaboul or Agger?), 1 left wing back needed (Jansen?), 1 central midfielder needed (Rosicky?), 1 attacker needed (Okazaki?).

Was just listing who we have at the moment, should have added another centre back onto the list. for me, Konchesky, Upson, Hammond, Wood and Simpson will all go in the summer. I also just remembered Lawrence, don't think he'll be near the first team though
Marky mark Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Nicky Maynard .......... Now can we have 500 pages on this
CosbehFox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Mitrovic is a big powerhouse.. upgrade on ulloa! He's also lazy. Hence no club has took the gamble yet. Wouldn't be shocked to see us go back in for Tomás Sivok, out of contact this summer I think and we were interested before. Similar to Prodl at Bremen, out of contract, previously linked.
EnderbyFox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Agree with anyone who said we should sign Rosicky, cracking player and he has lovely hair (no homo)
LCCFox96 Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Would take Dele Alli from spurs on the cheap Given they've just signed him in the window prior for £5mil, I'm not sure how we'd get him on the cheap. Loan possibly, cheap no.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Delle Ali will just go back to MK for a season if they're in the Championship, surely?
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Shame that Sunderland stayed up. Van Aanholt is looking a tidy player at the moment. Would take Dele Alli from spurs on the cheap I don't think he's going anywhere on the cheap.
Fox in the North Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 James Milner is out of contract isn't he? I think he'd really suit the formation and tactics.
Spicer Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 James Milner is out of contract isn't he? I think he'd really suit the formation and tactics. Liverpool look like getting him.
gurru991 Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 James Milner will not be cheap, way out of our price range.

Bryn Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Milner Come on guys, be realistic. Rosicky is an interesting shout, I'd wager a few bigger clubs would be in but he might slip under the radar, he'd be a wonderful signing.
Richmondfox Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 James Milner is out of contract isn't he? I think he'd really suit the formation and tactics. Have a word, Man City are offering him 160k a week to stay
TheSomersetFox Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 James Olley Just confirmed with Wenger that #afc have taken up an option to extend Tomas Rosicky's contract by one year. it was nice entertaining the idea while it lasted.
