Burnley v Leicester Match Thread

Hmm not best pleased but having 3 centre halves should help deal with their long diagonals. , Hoping our 3 in midfield shows enough tenacity and ball retention to outclass their 2. Big game for Ulloa needs to lead the line well today. Even more nervous now after seeing this lineup, just really cant see us getting a result at all

Would rather have Konchesky protecting our left side than Schlupp. It doesn't give them much to worry about down that side though.

On the defensive end, sure - just stunts us in attack and can't see Konch playing as a wingback for 90 minutes

Are we not just playing the same formation as last week with a slightly more cautious set of personnel - Drinky for Kramaric and Konchesky for Schlupp?

532 with Albrighton as right wing back?

If he isn't injured maybe there is something in these schlupp to Swansea rumours that has unsettled him or caused a bust up...

Ignore that he has a knock

@OfficialFOXES: City: Schmeichel, Wasilewski, Huth, Morgan ©, Albrighton, King, Cambiasso, Drinkwater, Konchesky, Vardy, Ulloa. #BurLei

But easier to read than picture on phone. Also from the way they have written it out looks like 352. I'm worried about Trippier and lack of Nuge. What can NP do if Schlupp is injured though! Has to be Konch

Not sure about that at all.

They're such an organised side. Definitely better to have Mahrez or Kram in to create or run at someone. Really unsure.

And to play 3 central midfielders none of whom really drive forwards or are hugely athletic is odd.

Would much rather mahrez or kram instead alongside vardy and ulloa.

Hope they prove me wrong

If Drinky can play like we know he can then we might be able to control the game like West Brom did in the first half against us!

Konchesky provides a more defensive look to our team, might need it if Burnley want to try and apply pressure, hopefully Ulloa can hold the ball up well and Vardy has another great game!

Come on boys bring the 3 points back

Definite 3-5-2. City tweeted the lineup defenders-midfielders-strikers so it seems konchesky left mid and and maybe kingy in front of drinky and cambiasso. Or cambiasso in behind the two

Konch doesn't have pace so if he gets forward someone better be covering.

This looks more like a team designed to get a point rather than one to tear the opposition apart.  Just hope it works.

Konch will be important today. A lot of Burnleys good things come through Trippier.

3-5-2 I think, with Albrighton RWB & Konchesky LWB..

Which makes me cry thinking Konchesky will be attacking today.

I prefer his crosses over schlupps, and I think having 5 getting back in defence could work today!

I just wonder whether Schlupp's focus has been affected by the alleged interest from Swansea. Can't imagine NP allowing that to happen, though, so most likely a late injury. It's a blow cos his speed has been a significant factor in our recent games.

Bloody hell...i agree with cityfanlee!!!

WOW what has happened in the last month!!! lol!!!

I hope to god we're not going there on the defensive like the old days where we lost all the time. I would have like 3-4-3 with Mahrez with Vardy/Ulloa.

If it's 3 at the back why play Konchesky on the wing when we've got Mahrez on the bench? Baffling lineup

Need to keep some balance, Mahrez LM would leave us horribly exposed to Trippier as people have already mentioned. It's not ideal no but what would you do? Play an injured Jeff?

Who is playing right back? Wasilewski?

Konchesky left wing?

Pearson lost the plot again?

Deary me. Play an bloody attacking team.

It's a 3-5-2 with Albrighton on the right of the 5.  Can't really say how attacking a 3-5-2 is until you see the team actually play.  Might be they're set up to sit back and soak up pressure, might be they're set up to dominate the middle of the park and create a springboard for attacking moves, might be something else.  We'll see.
