Pearson interview

Pearson isn't remotely interested in cultivating a good media image and I quite like that. He doesn't do interviews every week to tell us how great he is, how bad everyone else is, talking about other players, other clubs, getting involved in things that aren't Leicester City business. The results and the performances do the talking.

But, on the other hand, I can see how he appears to outsiders. He's arrogant, belittling, aggressive and short tempered. That's clear to neutrals.

He doesn't fit the image needed. Doesn't have charm, speaks in a dour accent, wears the club attire instead of shiny suits and isn't interested in playing up to the soap opera world of football. The press are against him and waiting for us to fail now. He has to deliver on the pitch in the next four games because they are queuing up to write the gleeful relegation pieces.

Do we really care what a load of fat, middle class men have to say?

Pundits, fair enough. But John Percy coming out with that article isn't really largely representative- it's his own opinion. Why not write a blog pal? He's just using his large reach to slag a man off who hasn't actually picked on him personally.

What a strange industry.

You get the feeling that nothing motivates the bloke more than proving those smug ****ers wrong.

Amazing how people see something like this so differently.

Some see it as 'amazing' and 'give the man a five year contract'.

I see it as a fella with anger issues. He's not laughing. He's seething. And walking out at the end (again) suggests a loss of control.

In pretty much any other walk of life that would not be seen as a positive thing.

It's been apparent all season. And I'm amazed, in this day and age, he's allowed to keep on doing this.

For all those wanting to give him a pat on the back..you try doing this at work tomorrow. See how you get on.

Rather an over the top view, how many managers do you want me to name who have gone off on one especially after a gutting defeat.

Get over yourself.

When did people start giving so much of a shit what everyone else thinks? lol

Yeah, can't believe how many people are concerned about what the Premier League plastic fans and a bunch of fat middle-aged journos think about us. I couldn't give a **** what some Liverpool fan from China, or some Chelsea fan from Ghana has to say on Twitter about us or our manager. Same goes for some pompous puffed-up sports writer who spends 90% of his day gushing about what brilliant characters Mourinho and Van Gaal are.

Anyone else think it felt slightly rehearsed? I mean come on ... To come up with the ostrich comment outta the blue would just be odd. There's little pausing or thinking about what he's saying like maybe he had it up his sleeve as his ace card haha. I can see why the media are jumping on it as it does seem bizzare and defo is cringeworthy. However it won't effect anything done Saturday and like people have mentioned nowhere has anyone mentioned our apparent injury woes.

I'd imagine it's made the guys day... he couldn't have bought himself better exposure!

Was thinking the same thing myself, never heard of him before this morning.

Stringer is probably envious as hell right now.

Bullying? lol Have a word.

Again Nige provides us with some comedy gold, these journos deserve it anyway, it's painful watching them all arse lick people like Van Gaa, Sherwood and Mourinho.

Well you really are burying your head in the sand if you believe that! The media are jumping on the fact that Pearson appears slightly unhinged, not a single comment about an ostrich.

Had Pearson only said to the guy, with a smile:  “Where have you been for the last six months? Are you on ostrich??!” that would probably all have been laughed off, and forgotten about.

The problem is Pearson’s bizarre other comments: “What’s erm?” “I smile at you because I can.”  “Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand?” “Come on ask it, ask it. Or are you not capable?”

He sounds like fvcking Dr Evil from Austin Powers gone wrong!!

He embarrassed himself, and by extention the club. How can that be viewed in any way as anything other than a negative for the club?  Which at the end of the day, is really all that matters.

I don't understand why people insist on comparing football to other jobs and walks of life. It's not like a normal job, is it?!

I didn't see any of these journo pricks stick up for their own in the video last night, yet they've all been sharpening their fountain pens to write all sorts of rubbish this morning. Spineless cvnts.

So did Frank Spencer.

Unfortunately Nige is manager of a Premiership football club, not a slapstick comedian.

Does Pearson want to make himself known to the footballing world

When he was manager in the championship, he was reasonably well known. But not to everyone. I just wonder if all his antics this season - are they to get him in the limelight? Why didn't he do any of this in the championship or league one? There was pressure on us to get promoted so I'm not having the 'It's the pressure'

It all seems very sherwoodesque. Desperate to be known and famous.

Posted

Notice none of his controversy comes when we've just won. He takes the attention away from his players to avoid any negative press about them and keep morale high.

Posted

He genuinely doesn't give a **** what anyone thinks of him, even if it was the whole world.

His focus is 100% on player's preparation and he'll stop at nothing to shoulder the world's problem to protect them or to defelect what he thought was criticism of them.

Was bizarre wording though

The only embarassment is your comments in this thread.
