indierich06 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 When he was manager in the championship, he was reasonably well known. But not to everyone. I just wonder if all his antics this season - are they to get him in the limelight? Why didn't he do any of this in the championship or league one? There was pressure on us to get promoted so I'm not having the 'It's the pressure' It all seems very sherwoodesque. Desperate to be known and famous. If you knew anything about the bloke you would know that's the last thing he wants. I'm sure if he didn't have to, he'd never talk to the press.
Fox Ulike Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 The only embarassment is your comments in this thread. Yet you to have no answer to them. Are you not capable?
Akinbiyi24 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Im loving all this 'taking attention away from the game' we're not real ****ing Madrid what did you expect to happen. Intense criticism from pundits and press on our loss. Were Leicester city ffs.
Max Power Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 If you knew anything about the bloke you would know that's the last thing he wants. I'm sure if he didn't have to, he'd never talk to the press. Why doesn't he make his press conferences as boring as possible then? Short answers. Then leave. Send 'Shakey' every now and then or something? He certainly must have a degree of narcissism to keep creating these bizarre incidents that he must know are going to create headlines. No-one would be talking about Leicester City today, save for a few remarks about a spirited display against the Champions, but now it's all about him again.
AndWhat? Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Nigel Pearson is trending worldwide. just behind Adolf Hitler.
indierich06 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Yet you to have no answer to them. Are you not capable? Well your main criticism seems to be the ridiculousness of Pearson comparing a journalist to an ostrich, yet you're posting silly pictures which bizarrely compare him to Dr Evil and Frank Spencer. I've had my say on why I think all the faux-offense and accusations of bullying around this interview are ridiculous and people saying that he should apologise or that he's somehow embarrassed the club are ridiculous as well - I'm not going to repeat myself, so read back through the thread if you want to see them again.
hejammy Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Wow some of the hatred on Twitter for Pearson/leicester is crazy. All he did was call someone an ostrich. He's done far worse and if this was a stand alone incident not many people would have batted an eyelid. If he is doing this to distract the attention away from the players then I'm not entirely sure it's the right way of doing it. Who knows, perhaps he has just gone a bit crazy. Who wouldn't managing Leicester?
SystonFox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Well, no, it's trending behind #talkdirtyin4words. Here is my effort Nigel Pearson market leader
JonesLCFC Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Newcastle will be fresh, we will have had 2 days rest. He should have rested key players. If he had rested key players, people like you would be bemoaning him.
Fox Ulike Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Well your main criticism seems to be the ridiculousness of Pearson comparing a journalist to an ostrich, yet you're posting silly pictures which bizarrely compare him to Dr Evil and Frank Spencer. No. If you look again at the post which you quote, you will read the following sentence: The problem is Pearson’s bizarre other comments: “What’s erm?” “I smile at you because I can.” “Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand?” “Come on ask it, ask it. Or are you not capable?” So my main criticism is clearly not the ostrich comparison. In fact, if you read another sentence from the same post, you’ll see I’m actually saying the opposite to the opinion you are trying to shove on to me. If all you’ve got to say for yourself is that you think it’s ‘ridiculous’ that he’s embarrased the club then that’s not really very interesting is it? You should try to post an opinion that others might actually want to read, not single word answers to other people’s opinions.
artursteppe Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It was bizarre by Pearson. I don't recall any of the media criticising our players this season, more like the opposite, which is probably what the journalist was implying. I have no problem with Pearson defending himself and his players, at any time with the media. This however in my view made him look silly, inarticulate and not very bright. This was embarrassing ( again?)!
Ricey Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Just remembered from last nights match, in the first half I think, when the linesman was stood on the halfway line, Pearson pretended to start a chainsaw and cut off the linesmans legs. He found it hilarious. That man has some deep, dark issues that he may need to address before we find Ian Stringers head being used as a corner flag.
Haydos Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Why would we need detract attention away from the players after a defeat to Chelsea? And having won the 4 previous games. One thing is for sure, the end of the season can't come quick enough for him, the guy needs a holiday. Because while we're down there we're still going to be talked about as relegation candidates. By doing this it distracts from that and ensures that we're not going to be discussed all over the media in the run up to the Newcastle game as relegation potentials or that this is a huge game or any of that stuff.
Babylon Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 The problem is Pearson’s bizarre other comments: “What’s erm?” “I smile at you because I can.” “Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand?” “Come on ask it, ask it. Or are you not capable?” Yeah... they are awful comments.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Not sure why but I thought of the Patridge quote "I just hate the general public" when I watched the interview, was fantastic probably his best outburst to date
Haydos Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Just to add....if I'm right all the journalist wanted to know was what criticism Leicester players had received....fair question.....the answer is not a lot....the criticism has been aimed at Pearson. Journalist didn't deserve the backlash....Pearson seems quite happy to pick on the weak Did you watch the video? He states several times that 'you've been in the room'. Obviously he's talking about him being badgered in press conferences.
Haydos Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Reporter didn't deserve the level of backlash and in order to maintain our dignity as a football club and continue this good run with a positive vibe around the club Pearson needs to offer a personal apology to this journalist because his outburst was uncalled for. A bunch of flowers picture for the media with smiles and a warm embrace should do it then we can go on and stuff Newcastle with a clear conscience!! Christ you're wet.
The Doctor Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Seems the national media think this has legs and could run and run. Probably can - Ostriches have a top speed of around 40mph.
Guest Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Probably can - Ostriches have a top speed of around 40mph.
Merging Cultures Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It's totally a diversionary tactic that deflects pressure off the team and strengthens their togetherness. He now tells them the negus are against us, you've won for in a row yet they criticise us. Get our there and prove them wrong. No one player is facing direct criticism and is in the media and no one is focused on the loss. He has been trying to build a siege mentality through his media stuff.
The Doctor Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 I'm loving pearson facts on twitter as a result of this. And I'm guessing this: https://twitter.com/nigebosspearsonis one of you - probably unabomber.
Merging Cultures Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Anyone else think it felt slightly rehearsed? I mean come on ... To come up with the ostrich comment outta the blue would just be odd. There's little pausing or thinking about what he's saying like maybe he had it up his sleeve as his ace card haha. I can see why the media are jumping on it as it does seem bizzare and defo is cringeworthy. However it won't effect anything done Saturday and like people have mentioned nowhere has anyone mentioned our apparent injury woes.I don't think so. All he was saying was that the guy must have heard the criticism at the press conferences unless he has had his head in the sand. Not a huge leap to just call the guy an Ostrich.I haven't seen any terrible criticism of the players (except on here) so I must be an ostrich.
Out Foxed Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 reporter asks stupid question and gets what he deserves. balloonhead.
Itsthejoeker Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Everyone was wetting themselves over the Van Gaal interview the other week.
