Fox92 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Whatever he does now gains a lot more media because we're a Premier League club. He could do this sort of stuff in the football league and it wouldn't get as much coverage. Shame really because as I said in the other thread, other certain managers can get away with doing stuff or acting "arrogantly".
davieG Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Well you really are burying your head in the sand if you believe that! The media are jumping on the fact that Pearson appears slightly unhinged, not a single comment about an ostrich. Had Pearson only said to the guy, with a smile: “Where have you been for the last six months? Are you on ostrich??!” that would probably all have been laughed off, and forgotten about. The problem is Pearson’s bizarre other comments: “What’s erm?” “I smile at you because I can.” “Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand?” “Come on ask it, ask it. Or are you not capable?” He sounds like fvcking Dr Evil from Austin Powers gone wrong!! He embarrassed himself, and by extention the club. How can that be viewed in any way as anything other than a negative for the club? Which at the end of the day, is really all that matters. There's pictures all over the Web of ostriches and people with their heads in the sand. If he'd have said that's a somewhat ignorant view rather than relating him to an ostrich it wouldn't have caused a single ripple.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Now certain people are saying it was 'rehearsed' Yeah, it's good to rehearse something that yet again brings negative light on the club and which makes you look like a man under extreme stress. I wonder when Nige and club management 'rehearsed' this particular little speech? The more I watch it, the more it makes me feel very uneasy. Why does Nigel never do this to SKY reporters in his post match interviews?

ScouseFox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 the "what's erm" part is great too. you, son are daft. god i love him so much.

gerrytaggart Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Good old Nige...that lifted my spirits after last nights result.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Maybe because they ask sensible questions?? Do you know the history between nige and the reporters that he has "bullied"??? So SKY don't ask probing questions? I'm pretty sure they do..

SecretPro Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 I'm not arsed about this either way. It's almost normal now for Nige to get shirty with the press. However, I think there are some wronguns on here saying that the journo asked a stupid question. Which THIS TIME is complete bollocks. Nige said he felt his players had come in for a lot of unfair criticism. Journo asked him to clarify what/where the criticism had come from which I think is a valid point because as far as I can recall, pretty much every Newspaper, TV Show and Football Pundit have spent the whole season saying City look good, should be higher in the league, have been unlucky and have a great squad.
indierich06 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 You should try to post an opinion that others might actually want to read Why? It's never stopped you. I've posted my opinion on this thread for everyone to see. You've posted pictures or Dr Evil and made vague references to Pearson's comments being bullying and embarrassing the club without ever expanding on them.Maybe take your own advice.
lgfualol Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Just pissed myself at Sean from Enderby's reply to Piers Morgan on twitter. I'm not sure if he is a parody account, or genuine, but it is funny.
Guest Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It's the price of forcing managers to do interviews after games. Have any of you ever seen Pops (SA Spurs coach) in game interviews - mandated to answer 2 questions. He is hilarious. Occasionally a player or two gets the arse with interviews and they can be funny too. Enjoyed the Russell Westbrook interviews earlier this season. Celebrities don't have the same rules as normal people.
Brenfox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Thing is Nigel is the manager of Leicester City football club & he is paid a vast amount of money in that role. His job is not only to pick the team but also to deal with the media. In all walks of life we are going to encounter these situations whether it be from a manager, colleague, customer/client but you should be professional enough to deal with it in the correct manner. Nigel has not & it's not the first time. He is a representative of this football club & his manner is very unprofessional. The Ostrich statement can simply be laughed off but the way he continues I personally think is intimidating. The 'I can' comment is very similar to the 'I can look after myself' from earlier in the season. That's not about football or the club. It's reminiscent of a child trying to make themselves look good in front of their friends. I'm not a Pearson hater, I think he has done a magnificent job here but I think the man himself is a prat.

indierich06 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Another silly picture in place of any kind of meaningful contribution. Keep up the good work.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 It wasn't Nigel's finest hour but I wouldn't call it bullying. It was silly and unnecessary and I hope he's contrite in the press conference at 2pm. Just on my way down there now.

Nige was alluding to criticism within the press conferences that the particular reporter in question was privvy to. How hard is this to understand???
The Doctor Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Having just listened to Geoff Peters interview, I'm not buying this drunk theory - he sounded quite sober and reasonable in there. It's clearly nothing more than a case of Nigel not suffering people he considers to be fools lightly.
